Being a drag king is being a performer in itself, same with a drag queen. There is no comparrison between a drag king and a person who chooses to life their live as masculine I'd person (perhaps trans or butch? I am bad with labels).

Anyways I am just gonna scoot out of here cause I'm lost. But anyways. Have a good night!

at the risk of taking up too much space in the butch zone...i think maybe the discomfort is coming from the fact that most butches i know don't necessarily id as drag kings. i know for my partner it is an expression of who he is and his identity, not a performance, and for people to read/interpret his dress as such can be upsetting or offensive.

i should probably be quiet now. (eta: eek, sorry for the pile-on - starryeyes and i were posting at the same time. oops. :D)

Don't worry aishah, I need the education.

Interesting way to put it; but I have to chime in as a butch who dresses in what is traditionally considered masculine clothing, but who does not consider herself a drag king.

I never really thought of myself as "in drag" - just being comfy. :)
