If I really think about situations from the past I had several that I can share about being the little butch boi I hadn't realized I really was...

In first grade there was a girl by the name of Esther. I remember her being smaller than me, brown hair and always wore dresses. She always wanted to do the piggy-back ride thing and tried with the boys but would get in trouble from teachers so eventually she asked me. I wasn't going to say no... I gave her piggy-back rides whenever she wanted at recess.

Hmmmm, rather interesting that I am now able to recall this. Hee hee  I'm making myself blush!!

I was a late bloomer. Not too many BF memories from childhood, but I had a butch for a middle school PE teacher. Mrs. Baird. I didn't love her and she didn't flip my switch but I felt a connection to her that took me many years to figure out.

When I look back when I was a kid say around 8. My best friend, Tim and I played cars and trucks all the time. We even made a village outside. We made a cover to cover the village every night so if it rained it wouldn't wash our roads away. lol I remember clear as a bell he would pick up his girlfriend for a date and I would also pick my girl friend up. He never once said anything about it or question why I was picking up a girl and not a boy.

Best part... he and his family are a huge part of my life to this day. They haven't walked away from who I am. :)

Childhood...

I was so shy, my experiences are limited. I have lived with a 'sporty' woman who was not so butch, ended up straight and that was heartbreaking. I moved to another state for her and well...I won't go into details, but hopefully I've learned some lessons.

The tomboy, sporty or butch type has always been just **wow** for me for me for as long as I can remember. In my early years, the 'mean girls' often accused me of being after their boyfriends, which was ludicrous to me because I just watched the jock girls who mostly did not notice me except for a few.

The girl who taught me how to ride a bicycle is probably a butch today. She always encouraged me and was an awesome friend, she used to call me 'movie star' for some reason and when I talked about annoying boys at school, she said ' yeah, screw them, girls can have more fun together' and that didn't totally compute for me until much later. Once, she stood in my kitchen while I asked my mom to sleep over her house; my mom looked at her for a long time and said '...uh no... absolutely not.' Sometime I need to ask my mom what her thoughts were at that moment. I would love to know.

Okay so jump to a few years later in Junior high now... I have an older sister who had girls as friends.. imagine that?? Anyway, we were all at Chuck E. Cheeses for someone's party. We were all sitting around a big table eating pizza. My sister got up because two of her girl friends walked in. When she brought them over to the table to introduce them to us, I stood up. She asked me right in front of them, why was I standing up. I made something up and said I had to go get something when in reality, I wanted to impress them with my height! lol.. I was tall back then! I mean WTF. anyway.. hindsight, I was probably just being polite too.

I dont know if this has much to do with bf but when i was young around 5 or maybe 6 my brother and I would spend the summer at my grandmothers. My brother was 2 years younger. so every morning I would tell him to make a name for the day ( he couldnt use his real name). I would do the same. We would greet my grandmother and say our names are Jack and Tom or whatever name we made up for that day. She would write it down, so she could remember, I wouldnt answer her if she didnt call me by that name that day. They where always guy names. It was me getting one step closer to being a guy.

i had a few girlfriends back in the day but that's for another time. I started being a bad boi way before I should have, let just say girls made me happy.

I had a huge crush on my second grade teacher, Miss Sullivan. She was young and very pretty. I was this very sweet shy little butch who had thought that she knew that she was my girlfriend. One day in front of the whole class she announced she was leaving and getting married. The kids cheered and clapped except me, who just sat there. At the end of class, she took me aside and asked me if I was happy for her and I said yes , but that I was going to miss her. She said she was going to miss me too and gave me a big hug. If she only knew lol

Okay here is the last one I can think of for now anyway lol... all throughout junior high and high school... I fantasized about the pretty girls.. well romancing them anyway.

One day in gym class, we were playing dodge ball. I was quite the little athlete at that time having just moved to TX from NY. So it was me and another girl left. She was cute and a grade older. So she threw the ball at me and I caught it, which got her out so I won.

She proceeded to chase me around the gym so I ran up into the locker room, where she cornered me in a set of lockers. She looked at me and said.. Kiss me.. then she puckered her lips. I was shocked to say the least. Next she said.. just kidding and walked away. Such a tease...

Didn't get a kiss but did get a memory that I'll never forget lol.

Pele, Summer camp. I was 12 or 13? She had a buzz cut and called herself Pele, after some soccer player. I had no idea who the soccer player was but I might have pretended I did to impress her. I also have no idea what her real name was. Oh were we attached at the hip that summer. One night we caught a buzz together drinking Robitussin that I'd packed with me- guess it had a bunch of alcohol in it? And then she made up this game that had us crawling and rolling around a lot in everyone's sleeping bags...

Just sit right back and you'll hear a tale...

There was a large number of kids in the neighborhood where I grew up. Mostly I played baseball, basketball, or football with the boys -- but on occasion the kids closest to my age (girls and boys) would get together and play make believe or dress ups. Often we re-enacted episodes from the TV show 'Gilligan's Island' -- we all watched that show on a daily basis. Invariably I was selected to assume the role of the character known as The Professor. I liked it very much because it was not lost on me that the women on the show (Ginger and Mary Ann) fawned over that character. I think my neighborhood girlfriends took advantage of that storyline and did same. It gave me some sense, even in the late 60s and at that young age (around 9-10), that it was OK to be me -- a clear cut Tomboy.

P.S. Sorry for the earworm.
:shocking:

Resurrecting an older thread [by the way, is there a time limit for that? I'm reading a lot of older threads I've found interesting and would like to post to, but wasn't sure what the official rules around here are for that sort of thing, if any].

My pre-school teacher was one of the most handsome butches I have ever seen (even to this day). Her name was Krista. She was tall, probably late 20's, had a honey-smooth voice that was just a few octaves lower than most of the straight women I knew at the time (hey, I was 4), and she had these mischievous hazel eyes that would light up and almost dance when she would tease us or get down on her belly and let us climb all over her. She looked like kd Lang circa the mid 90's with that dark shock of hair which would always fall casually onto her forehead. She would even let us play with it and put barrettes and scrunchies in it (if we could manage to grab enough hair to do so). I would always play with her hair but never put anything in it. She would jokingly ask me why and I can remember telling her quite emphatically that she looked beautiful without them and she didn't need a "makeover" (although I would always claim to see one stubborn section that was out of place so I had an excuse to play with her hair anyway... I'm smooth like that).

I can remember vividly after one particularly sleepless nap time where she decided to "nap" beside me and my friends for moral support (we were the "anti-nap" crowd) excitedly exclaiming to my mother proudly (and quite determinedly) in the car that I was going to marry her when I grew up! My mother then proceeded to give me the "girls don't marry girls" lecture which I thought was total hogwash even then. I huffily crossed my arms and proclaimed "I don't care. I'm going to do it anyway!" and then proceeded to stare out the window the rest of the quiet ride home

Imagine my dismay (and total indignation) when I later saw my beautiful butch asking my single (but straight) mother out on a date. Oh, the betrayal! Oh, the heartbreak! We stopped going there shortly thereafter...

I never forgot her, though. Whenever I'm visiting family and drive by the old centre, my heart still goes pitter pat.

I wonder what ever happened to her. Hmmmm... :awww:

I was born and raised in the UP of Michigan so winter played a big part in my childhood! My favorite memory is when I'd get a new pair of flannel lined jeans! Oh they were so 'niffty' those jeans! You could build forts, play hockey, or just stay outdoors doing anything for hours before feeling the cold!

It's not really a GOOD memory but I remember whenever I'd hear my mother yell out my three given names.... I knew I was in trouble:|

I remember summer vacations visiting distant relatives.Mom had family in northern california and dad had family in southern california.Whatever destination they decided on,most times it was after midnight when we'd leave home, all us sleepy kids in the backseat and mom and dad talking happily about the trip up front.Sometimes we'd leave before midnight and they'd buy a bucket of KFC and me and my brothers would fight over who would get the drumsticks.Loved roadtrips as a kid and seeing new places. Also loved going to the local fair..all those fun rides, good food, the 10 pm grandstand shows.I remember the drive-ins,and how I use to climb on top of the car roof with my pillow/blanket and watch the movie from there...childhood was great,up until the age of eight.

Great memories of me and my best friend cycling all over the place.
Getting into trouble scrumping.
And then doing a runner when we almost got caught.
Ahhhhh they were the day lol
For those of you who don't know what scrumping means, it to go and nick the fruit out of unused orchards.
Bad, or is it bad if noone picks it and uses it ?
In my own defence and my friends, we were only 11
