Virago 10-29-2012 11:50 PM

Mine is in honor of my first motorcycle. My 1985 Yamaha Virago. <sigh> you never really forget your first love, do you lol

Actually, I still have that bike along with a few others. 27 years together. See? A long lasting relationship CAN happen!

And that bike made it on TV! The bio of Brooke Shields opens up with her sitting on my Virago. My bike was so proud of itself! Keeps reminding me that I might date, but the bike got Brooke Shields

Andy Vibgyor 10-31-2012 11:57 AM

about pen-names

okay, so my screen name is also my personal pseudonym/pen-name, and I have made up a lot of those for many reasons. lol. When I was just beginning to find support groups etc online, I didn't want to use my real first name as I was so not out and also, quite young and scared. This was the same time that I started writing, a lot. And, this was the same time that I met my first romantic crush online. She was from a different country and couldn't pronounce my first name properly, so finally, i made up a pen-name for myself. I called myself 'Andy' which is a short, anglicized version of my first name, and 'Vibgyor' was just to add a dash of rainbow-awesomeness to it! actually, i also thought - in a very joking, lighthearted sort of way, that if my family ever kicks me out for being queer, I will have a last name for myself, of my own :P

Girl_On_Fire 11-05-2012 09:01 PM

Okay, I never did answer this so here's mine:

I've never been a hard rock or metal fan but I happen to like Rob Zombie's "Girl on Fire". Recently, this credit card commercial playing Alicia Key's "Girl on Fire" caught my attention and I liked it. I thought the term fit me because I'm very intense, passionate, loving, and have a firey temper. Ergo, Girl_On_Fire. ;)

Jet 12-31-2013 05:23 PM

West Side Story. I wanted to be a Jet on the streets of New York with nothing better to do than to raise hell. Unfortunately, I never reached my goal. So, I took a 2008 shot of myself and composed it with shots from West Side Story. (I had to go through red tape on getting permission to use stills for non-commercial purposes, btw.)

Well then, I finished it off and said to myself, "there, now you're a Jet." I've since taken this old notion and trashed it along with everything else old. But to answer your question, here it is......

MysticOceansFL 01-23-2014 09:50 AM

The reason being that I chose this nick name was for my love of the Ocean and all the creatures in it and that water is the giver of all live as we know it.......

WingsOnFire 01-23-2014 09:59 AM

I was known as MidnightBlueEyes for years. that ID I chose in a hurry. My dog's name was Midnight and I had a picture of deep blue eyes that I loved... hence MidnightBlueEyes...

Over the past 5 years I have grown and changed a lot. I feel like a girl on fire (no pun intended girl on fire!) and spreading my wings in my exploration of BDSM and what I want in my life... so... Wings On Fire was born... since Girl On Fire was already taken lol...

This girl is spreading her wings and leaving a trail of fire as I soar and explore life... yep... thats me.

silkepus 01-23-2014 10:04 AM

Interesting thread, I've enjoyed reading all your responses.

Personally, my name is the same as my little brothers new kitten. Because her fur was so soft and smooth, he decided to call her silkepus which translates to silk kitten from norwegian (silke= silk pus=kitten/cat :p)

I thought it was a cute name and I couldnt think of anything else so I just took it.

Smiling 01-23-2014 10:13 AM

Every time I discover a new corner of the Internet, I adopt a new screen name to go with it. Not to hide anything, but just because it's a fun creative exercise for me. lol, and have I ever come up with some doozies!

Huge-Smile is just an expression I used often in my everyday conversations. I'm a fairly smiley woman in real life; plus I always liked that old adage that says: "Smile. It makes everyone wonder what you're up to."

It's true! People are soooo suspicious! lol

~ocean 01-23-2014 10:48 AM

ocean is my real life nic name ~ my friends gave to me when I was a young teen ~ when they would look for me that's where they would find me at the ocean ~ plus I have been living by the ocean for 32 yrs ~

lamuymuyfem 01-23-2014 11:48 AM

LaMuyMuyFem

La Muy Muy is kind of the drag queen part of my personality - I think of it as the Spanish version of "She's all that."

Fem - Ay Dios mio my fem self has been so misunderstood…..

So I'm breaking out on this site with 'the fem who's all that," not in a bragging way, but because I feel like I am at home here….

Rolo 01-23-2014 02:33 PM

It's not after the delicious caramel filled chocolate treats (though that could be fitting) it's the First two letters of two of my names. Rose Lois...rolo. My sister calls me rolo.

C0LLETTE 01-23-2014 03:47 PM

Nothing really. I've no particular attachment to this nickname other than having been raised in Quebec and being bemused by all the names there that end in "ette". I took to naming all my pets ette-ending names i.e. Pierrette, Claudette, Babette, Lisette.
It's been my only chat name for about 15 years now and there have been times when I've fought fiercely to keep it ... for no reason at all except a stubborn nature.

deb0670 01-23-2014 04:06 PM

Many years ago i joined yahoo chat( way before they had voice) and it was very common to be trolled.. ASL.. i got so tired of being asked that so i came up with deb0670.. deb from my name Deborah or Debbie.. and i was born in June (06) of 1970 ( 70)
I am so uniquely talented that i use this user name just about everywhere.
Honestly, i am so tired of it, but i do not know what to change it to. Plus i am afraid if i did change it, i would forget what i changed it to. lol

Happy_Go_Lucky 01-23-2014 05:55 PM

This is an easy one.

Happy. Every day gives me numerous reasons to be.

Go. Always moving my tail feathers.

Lucky. A survivor of many previous life choices.

Hence, we amalgamate these words and VOILA!

Happy_Go_Lucky
