These curlers are so good with the broom that I invited the loosing team to come to my house to clean. All dressed up. Lol

That sums up why I like the Winter Olympics so much better than the Summer Olympics- cooler toys and playgrounds, and everything gets pushed to the extreme in a way I don't see (or at least don't appreciate) in the Summer Olympics.

In the Summer Olympics, you see people running around a track. In the Winter Olympics, they're running around the track, but going 20 times faster because the track is ice, all while wearing blades sharp enough to decapitate anyone who falls in front of them.

In the Summer Olympics, you have the long jump, where you take a running start and jump 25 feet. But in the winter, there's the ski jump, where you propel yourself down a jacked-up ice ramp, and fly through the air for the length of a football field.

Hell, one of the most boring events of the Winter Olympics is the biathlon, and they're shooting GUNS. I mean, even curling, which by all accounts should be totally lame (because really, it's just shuffleboard on ice) is still fascinating, in a bizarre OCD kind of way.

I've never seen a bobsled track either. But I'm digging the beer bellies on the USA bobsledding team!

I miss seeing Bob Costas at 8:00 pm every single night during The Winter Olympics. I miss how NBC shows the games. Don't get me wrong there is nothing wrong with how the BBC shows the games. But it's just not the same! My family thinks I am nuts for missing nbc's coverage of the games. My husband doesn't get it at all. Even tho, I have bitched to him about it during every Olympics since the 2010 winter games. When you live over seas you do miss the oddest of things. And this is one of those things..

Adelina Sotnikova What an amazing figure skating program. Yuna Kim silver was a beautiful program. Carolina Kostner was so elegant. It was a special figure skating event.

Was Don Cherry psyched, or does he only care about the men? I used to watch CBC Olympics coverage when I lived near Detroit. I watched Windsor Channel 9. Much better coverage. I also caught the occasional Hockey Night in Canada. Made me feel better about Americans being so jingoistic. Not many of us can compete with Don Cherry re that.
