lipstixgal 07-07-2010 04:46 PM

Ummm
That's not exactly a bad thing.

It's hot enough to make the Hot Springs in Hell feel like skinny dippin' in an Ice Bath!!

hahahahhaha, you are so right. No more  is a good thing

We had 3 days earlier this week that were unusally cool and unsually low humidity.. but I wasn't complaining. It was nice to be able to exercise outside for a change during the summer.. then BAM!! 98 degrees F and thick thick humidity again.. makes your skin feel clamy and icky just as soon as you walk out the door!

Bit 07-08-2010 01:05 PM

Sometimes I have trouble breathing (the humidity), but it isn't really hot enough out to melt me... I guess I really DID escape from Hell! :cheer: It was hot enough to melt the streets and parking lots, there; I used to come home with asphalt on my shoes all the time.

I complain about the heat nowadays, but I know I'm lucky to be here in Kansas!

BTW, that link about car-baked cookies was a hoot, Selly.

Miss Scarlett 07-08-2010 07:10 PM

It hit 100 today in Charlotte. I imagine it was at least that up in Concord where I work - it's generally at least a degree warmer there. I spent 3 hours today (10-1) at our storage space organizing, cleaning, reboxing & labeling. Nothing like a super hot day spent in a metal building with no ventilation.

BTW - if anyone is looking for spiders...I think I can hook you up...LOL
*shudder*

:spider::bolt:

Gemme 07-08-2010 08:20 PM

...my hands to the steering wheel.

*makes a mental note to put a towel in the car*

Selenay 07-08-2010 08:23 PM

It's hot enough to melt my panties right off my body.

I mean, if I was wearing any to begin with.

Bit, did you try making them? It seems like it would be right up your alley :)

Bit 07-09-2010 05:59 AM

It would have been right up my alley, Selly, but we don't own a car. I don't think it's been hot enough here anyhow; we have cloud cover, and I suspect it takes direct sun through the windshield to get a car heated up enough to bake.

christie 07-09-2010 07:19 AM

Its reached (unofficially) 111-113 in Richmond the last two days.

I think that is hot enough to melt just about anything!

chefhmboyrd 07-09-2010 08:17 AM

it's hot enough to melt....

This Carolina heat melted my Gummy Bears!!!!

Too bad it didn't COOK all these damn spiders and turn them to ash before I have to face my arachnophobia to get the house wiring fixed.

Cowboi 07-16-2010 12:48 PM

The tires on my car!!!

MsTinkerbelly 07-16-2010 12:53 PM

It is only supposed to be 88 here in Southern California today, but the humidity is 46%, and i am wilting......

Soft*Silver 07-16-2010 04:03 PM

Its hot enough to melt the mascara off my lashes...jeezzzz...I need to get waterproof kind now!

Bit 07-16-2010 08:21 PM

Electronic sign outside of Walgreens, at a busy intersection:

8:20 pm
100 degrees

I was soooo glad I didn't have to cross that street and go to Walgreens!!!

It's one of those signs that also advertises the sales, so the very next thing that flashed on it said "Box fans, $19.99." How appropriate, lol!

So... when it was over 100 last week, I had a stash of starburst on the floor of the go-kart (my lil runabout car).

Even in that heat, they are STILL perfect lil squares.

I think they get added to the twinkie/roach/nuclear survivor list.

...end derail...

o222Good 07-16-2010 10:09 PM

It is so hot that as soon as
I towel off after my shower,
I am soaking wet again!
:bath:

JustBeingMe 07-17-2010 12:14 AM

It's so hot, the sweat Melts off me!!

Blade 07-23-2010 09:14 PM

It's hot enough to melt your skin if you step on asphalt bare footed. I actually saw this on the news the other night. A man took out across the road and got sever burns on his feet.

Also it was so hot here today I saw a tree chasing a dog!

Corkey 07-23-2010 09:30 PM

Tomorrow it will be 92* with a dew point of 78*.
I don't know whether to breathe or swim.

Bit 07-23-2010 10:44 PM

Dear Kansas,

When did you change your name, and why wasn't I notified 72 hours in advance?

I spend my days with my skin as wet as if I had just gotten out of the shower, and I wear clothes as wet as if they had just come out of the washer. I cannot breathe when I go outside and my dining room is back up to 84 degrees, even with four fans, an air cleaner, and two air conditioners running non-stop.

You lured me in with a summer so cool and rainy it out-Seattled Seattle. You then teased me with Autumn signs in July and August. For three summers, you sheltered me with storms and clouds and lovely coolness. And now that I am settled in, Kansas, you have pulled a bait-and-switch on me? From out-Seattling Seattle, you expect me to accept out-Floriding Florida?

I call false advertising, Kansas! I cry foul!

Give me my money back. :hrmph:

It's hot enough to melt...

Passionaria 07-24-2010 12:01 AM

My body LOVES the heat. It was 95 degrees here in Austin today and it didn't even phase me. I must finally be becoming a Texan.......

LOL! I know what you mean. My EZPass (toll-payer) thingy fell off my window months ago, so I bought some industrial strength velcro stuff which worked for about 2 weeks... now it's melted off again. But not before sliding down the windshield and leaving a thick trail of glue .. .yippee.

I'm also a Harrah's reward card holder, but I keep mine safe in my purse LOL

Miss Scarlett 07-25-2010 09:06 AM

To quote a skit from Monty Python "It's hot enough to boil a monkey's bum..."

Kenna 09-19-2010 09:36 PM

Today was HOT ENOUGH TO MELT MY MAPLE FUDGE!!
too bad it takes more burn time to melt it off my hips!!

Ummm, the more I think about it....I guess I could turn that burn time into fun time? :cheesy: ;) ;)

*headed to kitchen to get more Maple Fudge*

Blade 07-26-2012 02:23 PM

It is so hot... I saw a tree shaking a dog on the way home from work

Amber2010 07-26-2012 05:16 PM

The heat index here where I live in Florida said 105.

I usually walk around the lake accross the street from my work
durning my lunch break and this is what I saw today.

It is hot enough that the ducks that are in the lake are panting for breathe.

The turtles were so dry I think they melted to the rocks around the lake.

It is hot enough that I didn't think I would make it around the lake.

Kenna 06-26-2015 10:26 AM

bump bump...yet another NC heatwave...

How hot is it? What's melting?

It's hot enough to melt......or hot enough to melt my.....

It's hot enough to turn my little flock of chickens into rotisserie!!
It's hot enough to melt my bottle of sunscreen I'd left on the porch!!
And you know it's hot when you see several wasps drinking from the bird bath!!

Rockinonahigh 06-26-2015 11:16 AM

It's 95* with the humidity about 70%mlike breathing water when I go out, we also have a 40% chanch of more rain.

homoe 06-26-2015 11:30 AM

Seattle is going to be hot enough...

to melt and reduce "homoe" to a tiny grease spot on the carpeting:seeingstars:

Queenie 06-26-2015 11:39 AM

Next week is might get up to the mid 90s here in north london! Yes, really! Normal summer weather is around 82. Its a huge deal when it hits 88 here.
I hate the heat!!! Ugh I hate the summer!!!! I miss my a/c!

Blade 06-27-2015 01:13 PM

It's hot enough that the chickens are panting!
Thankfully we have a cold front coming in and it is only suppose to be 90 today.
