April 1966
Sonny and Cher I was a baby. We followed them to their hotel, climbed up to their balcony where Cher was horrified we would fall. She invited us in...talked to us for an hour, asked how we were getting home and we said "hitchhiking". It was 2 am. I was 13. She said, "Oh no." She gave us 20 bucks for a cab. :D I love Cher. |
Keith Sweat in 1988 or 1989

In 1972, I was 11 years old and went to my first concert, which was Bread.
I remember the smell of reefer permeating the air, because that's what people did back then when they went to a concert. I, however, never smoked reefer, then or any other time. :| I am still an innocent. :eyebat: ~Theo~ :bouquet: |
Alice Cooper the Schools Out summer of snakes, at the Hollywood bowl. Year.......um.......I forget.

James Brown in Albuquerque, New Mexico, 1973.

the dead played at rich stadium every year.
i still own my dead bag and still use it just to whif the pachouli |
It was MC Hammer.
I've also seen Tiffany and *Nsync. I went to a rap fest once. I couldn't hear right for two days because, as the day had progressed, I'd made my way closer and closer to the ginormous speakers. Hearing aid makers everywhere began rubbing their hands gleefully, I just know it. My bestie dragged me to a lot of country concerts. Not many stand out in my mind, unfortunately. We also went to a lot of concerts at Silver Springs, where a lot of has-beens and never was'es but coulda beens and some almost theres perform. Again, not particularly memorable. I bought tickets to go see Kelly Clarkson, but had to cancel at the last moment. That really bummed me out. Love her. |
Joan Jett.
My second concert was Neil Young and Neil was a grouch. People in the audience started clapping during a song and he stopped and yelled "If I wanted clapping I would have written the fucking song with clapping in it" and spit all over himself. I guess it's hard to be an artist sometimes when people mess up your songs with clapping and shit. :| |
Wow, what a prick

My first concert was at the Aloha stadium in the 76 and it was 2 days of War, America, Bread, Chicago, Boston and Santana, ohhh and Earth wind and fire. Now that was one hell of a concert even with all the beer and other ventures we did during the concert lmao

Cool thread Mrs S
For me it was the mid 70's and I saw Chicago with the Beach Boys opening for them There's been many concerts since then, but naming all of them would be like having to remember every woman I ever dated |
So embarrassed...
My first concert was NKOTB in 1992 at the now defunct Kingdome.
*slinking out of thread* ~SAB |
the more i think about this the more i remember being a kid and wanting the dead bears tattoo'd all over my back, shakinghead.

|
I grew up in webster co ky, and the closet place any concerts came was evansville in. Roberts stadiun. I saw several concerts there, even saw icecapades once.
When I was in college(murray state) I went to the checkerdome in st loius to see the artist formally know as the artist formerly know and prine on the 1999 tour (in 82. Now THAT was a show.... Noly cow @ |
I saw Prince in Denver on the Sign O' The Times tour in 1989
The stage was a giant circle and every 15 min the stage rotated...it was friggin awesome I also remember just how awesome the acoustics are at Red Rocks...I saw the Indigo Girls there in 1990 i believe...opening for 10,000 Maniacs... |
Charlie Dainels Band at the Reem theater in Orinda Calif. and get this Brooks & Dunn opened for them they were just getting started
|
Brooks & Dunn! That was one of the concerts my bestie drug me to! Thanks for jogging my memory, cody. :)
|
I don't remember what it was. But I do know one of the best concerts I was at was for LUTHER VANDROSS at the San Diego Sports Arena, 1989. Front row!!
|
Bob Dylan, in the midst 90's I think, in Stockholm. Big hat, sun glasses, he was very in cognito, actually but for the voice it could have been anyone standing on that stage. But still, he's Bob Dylan.

Jealous of both of you! Best concert i ever saw? Severed Heads at Numbers in 1990, opening act MC 900 Foot Jesus. |
Styx, Hollywood Sportatorium, late 70's.
|
I'm a little fuzzy on this because my Uncles took me to lots of weird concerts and shows in the late 70's. I think my first "marquis" concert would have been Neil Diamond, though I think Cheap Trick at ChicagoFest came first. Awful this getting old thing...
|
I was 6. I had to play Christmas songs on the organ in a window in downtown Chicago. I had to wear a taffeta dress and pettcoat with patent leather shoes and lace socks.
|
I'm a little hazy on which I saw first...But, concert by the Definition of paying a big-ass amt for Ticket to hear at least 1 hr worth?
Phil Collins & Madonna {The Girlie Show} For both, the Lines were ATROCIOUS{mildly put} thankfully I didn't have to wait past 4 hours in the Scorching tropical sun {the benefit of buying expensive-type tickets} :seeingstars: |
Now one of the best concerts ever in my life was Erykah Badu and Musiq in Kansas City in i believe 2002 i was front row and less than a couple of feet from her.
Not only was she a phenonmenal entertainer but that concert and her voice were just so amazing that it still resonates with me and I would not hesitate to see her anywhere, anytime.... |
