Jo has hidden the damn addresses from me. I think she doesnt trust me. Its not like i'd stalk everybody,find phone #s and make obscene calls..or anything like that. I have been known to Papa Johns pizza to people tho. :blink:

Writing with pen and paper...
has become a lost art. There is something about the choosing of the card, letter, etc., and the pen...and the actual mailing of it that can be a beautiful ritual. One that requires time, planning, and care. The fact that someone would do this for me means they invested their time to do so. What better gift than to be thought of like this? There is a special someone on this site that sends out postcards that are photographs he has taken...he attaches the original photo to a thick paper the size of a postcard...writes an incredible, loving message and then MAILS it to me. I have treasured these as if they were touchstones...well, yes, they are indeed my touchstones.
I love the idea of connecting this way. Jo, I have PM'd you my address and would like to be a part of this. Great idea/thread! |

As a matter of fact Nina i would NOT be opposed to getting a postcard in MY name once in awhile---because i know all the ones that we get will be addressed JO and scoote :sigh:and thats just because she got everyone convinced she is so sweet and nice and needs to be pitied for having to deal with me all the time.
hell she even buys dark chocolate so she dont have to share with me now who is REALLY the one that needs pitied in this relationship? |

I had this amazing Pelikan purple swirly fountain pen (with purple ink of course) and while I have several, it was my favorite. It was a gift from a dear friend.
It was stolen in January and I just can't seem to get used to my others.....I use them (because they're nothing like a fountain pen, IMO). I love letter~writing. |

Jo has been busy with work and organizing the addy list and making sure it gets out that she has not had time to go find postcards yet...i know how much she wants to send some from our area out so i am gonna take it upon myself to go find some tomorrow so we can get them out before our trip...then when we are in the Bahamas we may or may not look together...but either way we will be double tagging everyone in the next 2 weeks.

Wolfy...as far as i know postcards can be sent whenever one feels like sending them....i am assuming we will send ours from the bahamas,but who knows what the boss will decide :|

I have little post-it's with each person's name... I did a bit of stalking on a few names to try and suss out some specific interests... since I seem to be happiest when behaving like a fucking 12 year old these days...I feel the need to announce that, yesterday, I decided upon, addressed, wrote a little note upon, and stamped all the post cards for folks on Jo's list...
I got a cramp in my hand...I really did! they are in the pile, ready to go this morning...I am going to take them TO the post office since I think they will be treated better there than languishing in a dark, cold, mail box on the street....what's it called when one assigns human traits to inanimate objects?...other than 'nuts'.... oh...and...from the whole sheet of post card stamps, there is only one left! |

Well, we are heading out for Pensacola FL tomorrow...YAY! I plan on picking up some along the way, too.... so some folks are gonna get a mixture of our roadtrip adventure, not just the destination :)

just FYI, the postcards i picked up yesterday are all the same. Hell that was hard enough to decide which ones to send. I stood there so long going back and forth trying to decide i think security came by a couple times,bc they thought i was trying to steal them...:lol2: To say i tend to OVER worry about having just the right ones would not be an overstatement. :seeingstars:

I am doing the same thing. But I am doing it b/c I will be picking up local postcards until I venture somewhere else. So, everyone will get a variety of Birmingham and the surrounding areas.
