BullDog 11-06-2012 05:52 PM

I can't wait for results to start coming in! It seems like there is big turnout for both sides in many states.

Big gender gap in Virginia- women could make the difference for Obama where the conservative Republicans are eliminating abortion clinics there.

African Americans and Latinos seem quite fired up in Florida over the voter suppression.

Labor organizations are out in vans picking up people to vote in Ohio.

People power!

WolfyOne 11-06-2012 05:52 PM

I'd like to thank Rie for having me drive around until I found the darn polling place here.

I'll also keep you and yours in my positive light and energy.
Hoping it all goes the way y'all need it to be there.

Martina 11-06-2012 06:02 PM

So Vermont is ours and Kentucky and Indiana theirs. Not news.

VA is a complete tie.

easygoingfemme 11-06-2012 06:11 PM

I finally wrapped up office hours for the day and got to vote.
I was so nervous/anxious I couldn't get out of my seat belt.
I had a moment of panic that I wasn't going to be able to vote because I was stuck in my car.
Then I tried again and managed to get out just fine.

Now, the wait... the wait.

Martina 11-06-2012 06:13 PM

I've been hearing lately that this is the last election in which white people will demographically be able to come this close again to dominating a Presidential election. I want to live long enough to see white bigots be a minority in this country.

Sun 11-06-2012 06:15 PM

Voter suppression is insane! Just heard reports from the West side of Phoenix. Police are holding people back from polling places. Not ok! So much is at stake in this election, what a mess.

Medusa 11-06-2012 06:19 PM

Current electoral votes:

Romey 19
Obama 3

Martina 11-06-2012 06:21 PM

Florida is 50-50 with 5 percent of the vote in. I can't take another election like Bush-Gore. I will take to the bottle.

WolfyOne 11-06-2012 06:26 PM

I live in a really red state and don't look forward to the results here :(

ruffryder 11-06-2012 06:27 PM

OMG people in FL are still trying to vote after the polls closed. They are not getting to vote !! How horrible !

Where are you seeing that?

Corkey 11-06-2012 06:30 PM

If they are in line they must hold the line and vote.

Martina 11-06-2012 06:37 PM

OOOOOoooo, CNN is saying that Prince William Co, VA going blue is a good sign for Obama. He got it before, but it is sorta conservative. So it going blue makes it much harder for Romney to take the state.

DapperButch 11-06-2012 06:41 PM

Finally here!

Where is the BullDog Prediction Report?

Martina 11-06-2012 06:44 PM

From the Daily Beast posted at around 4pm today

everyone take a chug -- voter suppression

Quote:

By mid-morning in Orange County, a critical piece of the "I-4 Corridor" between Tampa and Orlando, voters had waited three and four hours to cast ballots, at precincts they breezed through four years ago, some said. This, despite a phalanx of attorneys from the Lawyers Committee on Civil Rights’s “Election Watch”, who were quickly dispatched to 50 precincts across Orlando to clear up bottlenecks.

David Glicken took the day off from his private practice to help, and arrived at Precinct 217 in the mostly African-American Pine Hills neighborhood, an hour before the polls opened at 7 a.m. He quickly found myriad problems there. No one was directing traffic, he told The Daily Beast, so it took some an hour to find a parking spot. At around 10 a.m., an Orange County Sheriff's patrol car cruised through the crowded parking lot, and appeared to be taking down license plate information—“Intimidation,” Glicken said. And there was no accommodation for people with disabilities — voter Tamara Barua told the Daily Beast she saw three disabled people fighting over a single chair.

That, it turned out, was only the beginning. The line grew quickly and into the hundreds of people, snaking through the narrow hallways and out to  Hiawassee Road. When Glicken walked inside to find out what was going on, he learned there were a half dozen polling stations but only two people checking addresses and checking people in. "It's ridiculous," said Tainese Middlebrooks, who waited three hours to vote. "I feel horrible. This took 20 minutes last time." Barua waited three and a half hours to vote, she said, and this was her third time trying. She tried twice to vote early but left to avoid long lines each time.

"I strongly feel this is voter supression," Barua said. "It seems they chose to eliminate resources. Glicken called the county's Supervisor of Elections. A staffer there told Glicken they had as many as two dozen people there who could be sent to crowded polling places, but that the precinct head had to specifically request it, he said. Glicken walked in and asked her to request it, and she refused, he said. So he called Election Watch for
backup.

I know right? She has her notebooks and markers on a little table in front of the recliner, marking and calculating this and that.

Every time i hear something on TV i say "Is that ok?" I don't know what is expected and when i hear a state is proposed to go to Romney i freak out!!!!

Bully will look up from her sheets of paper, over her glasses and say, "It's ok honey, we expected that".

God, help us all make it through the night.

Martha Raddaz

Cecilia Vega

Diane Sawyer

Barbara Walters

Katie Couric

George Stephanopoulos

JustJo 11-06-2012 06:57 PM

Our local news. Showed a lady trying to turn in her absentee ballot and they wouldn't let her. She was fighting them, yelling and called the Governor's office. Unfortunately there is a lot of this happening here. I'm sure it's gonna come back to the Governor not wanting to extend early voting hours. And my guess is these people still wanting to vote after 7 would have voted for Obama.

Metro 11-06-2012 07:04 PM

Maine = BLUE

Illinois = BLUE

Woot!

Medusa 11-06-2012 07:04 PM
