First, let me say thank you to all the people who helped me figure out this photo thing!

Second, I must say it took me most of the afternoon to figure it out. I'm guessing some of the problem is I only have a phone - no computer - and it's a bit tedious.

Now I will introduce you, photographically, to Luray Caverns which is about 45 minutes from where I live. I often take visitors here because I think its so cool!

My Journey

Growing up in Daytona Beach, FL was wonderful! I have so many pictures of my travels around the United States, that I am just posting a link to my photobucket album. I have been to: Little Rock, AR; Tallulah Gorge State Park, GA; Boston; Pittsburgh, PA; Cherokee, NC; Cades Cove, TN; Jamestown, ND; Chicago, IL; and Seattle WA. I have lived in Flint, MI; Boston and Pittsburgh. One of my favorite things about living in Florida, all of the natural beauty from Lake Eola Park in Orlando to St. Augustine, FL.

Enjoy!

I don't have a State. I have a City. It's Belfast.

I could show the beauty of my city in high-tech, high resolution images. But I don't feel the need to. I'll keep to low resolution images of my city.

What exactly is a *hood rat* mentality, because the last time I checked in Florida it was white, men gunning down kids, cause if it's a woman of color defending herself it's a whole other story, I think it's pretty ickie how you are assuming it's a *hood* issue, cause it really isn't you may want to catch up on your Florida news...

I'm actually very current on my Florida news, thank you. As it happens, I DO live in the hood (actually ghetto covers it better) and I AM a WOC who has had it with the kids who run amuk in this neighborhood doing and taking whatever they want w/o regard for any respect to the people that live here and work hard for what they have. And I have NO shame in calling them hood rats because that's about as low as they get. ANNNNND I have no problem defending myself should one of these fools attempt to come into my house! Sorry you found my stance "ickie."

The_Lady_Snow 03-05-2014 12:55 PM

We're kept oppressed and in bad areas for a reason

I blame our system, watching kids have nothing to do, nowhere to go, no after school programs, systematic oppression dictates where these children are headed, I strongly feel if we invested more into our youth's education there wouldn't be such a problem. It's not their fault they are products of their enviroment, it's the states fault for allowing to continously happen. Even finding a school is a battlefield for these kinds, this state is a disgrace.

Anyways, thanks for clarifying your "stance" I still find it ickie, but I am certainly not out to change it, that's not my intent, thanks for the dialogue, have a nice afternoon

:)

Raw photos. The same sunset over the ocean was taken in different stages in Carlsbad in January. The bottom right was taken from an awesomely cute late 1800s lighthouse way up high on a hill. The incredibly vast view was impossible to capture as i couldn't figure out how to take panoramic with my camera.
