Just FYI folks, since the twin tower tragedy sept 11 all large scale, events that will have a extremely large crowd of people have had the same high level/ratio of security with all levels of agencies. It doesn't always make the news.

The info found repeatedly on computers of those they have apprehended have given tons of data on what all was being looked at.

Flight patterns are changed during major events, sept 11 changed things in so many ways....my guess forever.

just a bit of info.

Love them Steelers and still yet it is hard to believe they play the Super Bowl game even when the Steelers are not in it....hehehehe

I gotta go with the Seahawks this time! Maybe its because Seahawks starts with an S......something about the underdogs kicking butt when least expected!! Both teams have fought hard to get here, neither QB made it by himself. I hope it is a great game for both teams, and seems the weather is taken out of play. I was sure hoping for a hella snow fall during the game! :) Yea there is only one team that wins.....but both deserve their position in playing for the win!

GOOOO Seahawks!! Fire cracker fire cracker boom boom boom !! Fire cracker fire cracker boom boom boom, ya throw to the left...ya run to the right...and for the quarter back sneak ya tuck it in tight!! tuck it in tight!!

Looking forward to the game. I'm a die hard Saints fan, but since they aren't in it, I'd like to see Peyton Manning win so he can rub their nose in it in Indianapolis for giving up on him when he got hurt. Either way, it's going to be a hard hitting game.

Ditto Glynn

Except ..go Steelers...next time :)

*Anya* 02-02-2014 06:49 AM

I had to ask the GF yesterday who was playing in this game.

Then I asked:"Who are the Seahawks?"

I never knew Seattle had a football team.

*Sigh* <<<<Her sigh.

Super Bowl party today...

In Canada, the game is broadcast but they edit out the commercials ... I won't be watching. What's the point.

If not for a bad call in the Ravens Lions game the Steelers would have made the playoffs and so would the Lions for that matter. But that is water under the bridge.

Anxious to see;
Great playing skills, how they make sure two feet, and elbow, or a knee hits the ground before falling, tripping, pushed out of bounds.
How the defense squeezes the QB in.
How the receiver just jumps and pulls the pass out of the air.
The decisions on what plays to use.
The sound of Omaha!

How we critique the commercials and the ones we say awwww too!
Maybe the half time show?..

Leigh 02-02-2014 10:23 AM

yes I know Manning is a great quarterback etc, but its the Seahawks time to get it done! Manning had a SuperBowl already to his credit, so I have to cheer for my boys ~ today is the day to crown a new set of champions:

GO SEAHAWKS GO!!!!!!!!!!!!

NFL Accountability

The NFL Would Never Let This Ad Air On The Super Bowl, So We're Gonna Show You It. It's Important.

According to the dictionary, it's a "usually offensive" term for Native Americans. Most of the major civil rights organizations have come together to condemn it. They did a study and found out that it's actually detrimental to the mental health of Native American citizens. Ask yourself, if you met a Native American, would you call them a redskin to their face? Would it be OK to call a team the Colorado Crackers? Then why the hell are we letting this happen? Especially because there are plenty of alternate names that don't use racial stereotypes.

If you think that we shouldn't tell Native American kids that calling them racial slurs is an OK thing, you could Like Change the Mascot on Facebook. And then tweet and share this?

Good article in the Nation about Russell Wilson and attitudes towards quarterbacks, especially where race is concerned.

Not a Broncos Fan? Then This Super Bowl, Root for Russell Wilson

Martina 02-02-2014 07:24 PM

Damn! Bruno Mars is something special. I love it when he channels James Brown.

And with the Red Hot Chili Peppers. What a great show! Very high energy and fun.

TruTexan 02-02-2014 07:25 PM

I fell asleep and woke up just before halftime with Seahawks putting the hurt on the Broncos at 22-0. WTF happened while I was asleep? LMAO

If the underdog Seahawks win, I'm all good with that too.

My team isn't playing in it so it doesn't really matter to me who wins.

Martina 02-02-2014 07:33 PM

Seconds into the second half and a Seahawks touchdown -- 87 yards. Denver must be giving up.

Oiler41 02-02-2014 07:34 PM

If Denver isn't careful, it's going to be a shut-out. This is pathetic.

Glynn

Martina 02-02-2014 07:57 PM

Another turnover. It really is a massacre so far.

Martina 02-02-2014 08:06 PM

OMG, another touchdown. How that Kearse kid stayed vertical, I do not know. This is a good team. And the game is a total rout.

Nice Dylan commercial too. A little jingoistic, but as a former owner of a very nice Chrysler 200, I gotta applaud.

Martina 02-02-2014 08:12 PM

Well, Denver finally got a TD. Nice catch. These are some amazing athletes.

Martina 02-02-2014 08:26 PM

Another Seahawks TD. The announcer just said, "for all intents and purposes, this game is over."

The play before the TD, Kearse caught another ball that it takes a real athlete to catch. Amazing.

Martina 02-02-2014 08:35 PM

Two incomplete Denver passes in a row. Neither looked that tough to my eyes. I wonder if Peyton is going to retire after this.

TruTexan 02-02-2014 09:01 PM

Man, that game just sucked from the get go. WTH? Denver had no answers to Seattle's ass whipping on them. Worst game of the Super Bowls I can remember.
What a case of Whoop Ass!! *smh*

Seattle sure deserves to win for their game day performance !!

Jet 02-02-2014 09:07 PM

Well Done Seattle!
Congratulations on your first NFL Championship!

Martina 02-02-2014 09:22 PM

From that Nation article I cited earlier:

Quote:

If Russell Wilson holds the Lombardi Trophy amidst the swirling environs in New Jersey, here are some things we are never going to have to hear again. We are never going to have to hear that Doug Williams, way way back in 1988, remains the only quarterback of African descent to lead a team to Super Bowl victory. That tired line, usually said by an uncle after too many beers, will have to die.

The second thing we will never have to hear again—and believe me, this cannot come soon enough—is the backward-looking concept that you can only win a Super Bowl if you have some dropback pocket passer with feet encased in mafia-grade cement like a Tom Brady, Joe Flacco or, oh, I don’t know, Peyton Manning. The scouting that if you are Russell Wilson or Robert Griffin III or Colin Kaepernick, then your style of play, no matter how “entertaining,” will lead to inevitable failure. Being able to run is a nice bonus for a quarterback, but irrelevant when it’s time to win. What I hate about this conventional wisdom is that racism runs through it like a jagged scar people pretend not to see.

not2shygrrl 02-02-2014 09:40 PM

still a little confused.......

I admit to cheering on the Seahawks from the get go....but dayyyyyyummm Denver never showed up really....????!!! All stats led to a close game for today, but this was a blow out!! Well..........YIPPIE Seahawks!! Great game!!

firegal 02-02-2014 09:43 PM

I,m at work and the city is going crazy...some destruction is starting.

needing police escorts in the downtown and UW area for all calls!

SF_Boi 02-02-2014 10:28 PM

GOOD GOING SEAHAWKS!

Broncos never had a chance, the first play was evident. So much was banked on Manning. Thanks Seahawks for bringing it home!

C0LLETTE 02-02-2014 10:34 PM

Maybe they shouldn't have legalised weed in CO.

Martina 02-02-2014 10:42 PM

In that case maybe they had more time to get used to it.

~baby~doll~ 02-03-2014 07:37 AM

Defense wins. I was rooting for the Seahawks but congrats to both teams for their seasons.

stargazingboi 02-03-2014 08:03 AM

I didn't have a favored team for the super bowl. Since, my team didn't make it this year. However, I watched it because ...well, hell it's the Super Bowl. I merely was expecting a great game..the two top teams of the season going head to head. Instead, what I got was a one sided game that left me feeling sorry for Denver. They got their ass handed to them on a silver platter.

I kept hoping that they would just wake up and remember why they made it this far and make a game out of it...but, I could tell they were emotionally defeated in the first quarter.

C0LLETTE 02-03-2014 09:48 AM

Being in Canada I wont complain about the game but we even missed the commercials. I'm betting half of Canada is on YouTube today watching the delayed ads to see what the fuss was about.

ruffryder 02-03-2014 10:13 AM

Congrats to Seahawks and fans. I'm a huge, HUGE Bronco fan and it was a huge disappointment to see them come all this way just to be defeated. Seahawks came to play the big game and deserved that win. Welcome Seahawks to the Superbowl winners in the NFL. Still will always be a Bronco fan for life and cheer on my guys and be proud of them. They had a hell of a season and got whooped in the big game. smh * It was shameful. But it is what it is. I do not think Manning will retire this next season but he's getting there in the next 2 I believe. He's had a great NFL career and I'm glad Broncos got to play with one of the best and I'll look forward to their rebuilding after he's gone.

As far as security goes, it's huge with these events. I do event security and I can't even imagine what a Superbowl would entail when I know a concert, regular season game has at least 100 security officers on hand, paramedics, and law enforcement. I know they must have done a great job with it as I didn't hear of any threats or security breaches but then again sometimes you don't hear about it all the time in the mainstream public not to mention the medical emergencies such as intoxications, injuries, etc..

Jet 02-03-2014 03:01 PM

Couple of comments.

Seattle played an aggressive, non-stop defensive game that set up the offense, period. That's my opinion. D didn't give an inch and they are to be commended. I rooted for Denver because Colorado is my home state and because I really would have liked to see Peyton Manning end his season on a high, legendary note.

We defeated him at Nebraska when he was at Tennessee and I've watched him through years rebound from severe defeats. I think he's a heads-up, honorable man in the NFL who comes back year after year in pretty good shape with a head on his shoulders. He's an incredible player, win or lose. And no one will ever change my opinion of him. I consider him to be in the ranks of guys who have truly made this sport what it should be: competitive with honor. And unless he really messes up, that's my .02.

Harry Truman once said, "I feel like a load of hay just fell on me" when he assumed the presidency after FDR's death in office. When I looked at Peyton Manning today, I thought, "he looks like Harry Truman felt." And my heart goes out to him and so does my respect. You cannot put a game —especially expectations of a championship—on one man. Where was the team?

The guys of Seattle deserve that trophy. They played aggressively, strategically and opportunistically on both sides of the ball. That's what they love, that's why they make the big bucks. They risk their bodies for this game and life is over by around 38 unless you're a punter, 40 tops.

What I don't like or appreciate is that Seattle's win is overshadowed (in the media and internet) by Denver's defeat. These guys deserve accolades, rather than concentration on Denver's poor performance with criticism like, "shitty game," "bummer," "terrible loss," etc, etc. It's done. I believe that if you have any respect for the game, as its designed, and fair play...then man up as a fan, deal with it and give credit where credit is due.

Bask Seattle, you deserve applause and respect for playing a great game and for bringing home a first-ever Championship for your team.
And you have my respect in the game that I will always love most. To me, your win is...football.
