Cleaned and tidy! Just the basics aka: tissues, toothbrush in the stand, side cup for water and always fresh towels. And TP on the roll: over not under.

Pretty tidy bathroom as in I only have soap dispenser, box of tissues, and lotion on the counter top.

It puts the lotion on the counter....

Okay question from me: Bathroom sinks and products? Do you keep your sink area nice and tidy or do you have stuff everywhere?

Everywhere. I like it that way. I can't be creative in a sterile environment.

I don't think it matters because some people can't tell the difference between right and left when they are put on the spot like that... so I think you are okay as long as you shake it all about...

Does anyone use the preset buttons on the microwave?

Okay, popcorn once or twice before I went to air popping but I am almost certain I have never used anything but the set a certain time or the add a minute (30 seconds for some) buttons.

In your kitchen, do you leave your small appliances like the toaster, your Ninja, your blender, your George Foreman grill, etc. out on your counters all the time or do you only pull this stuff out when you want to use it?

They are all out and used often so putting them away would drive me insane. Red does not do a lot of cooking so as long as she can get to the coffee she is good.

Both.

Some things I keep out because I use them regularly. Other things are in the medicine cabinet, drawers on the vanity or in the bathroom closet depending on how frequently they are used and how much space is needed for each item.

Just the popcorn one really.

I shouldn't think it would be too hard and I imagine if one can accept the premise of emergent materialism one could literally reconcile anything.

Your question got me thinking about semantics and that brought to mind a question I often have running around in my head. If semantics is, among other things, the branch of linguistics and logic concerned with meaning, why is it often disparaged? I think we all speak with the hope of being understood, but without clarity of meaning language is.....well....meaningless. Why then do people often say we shouldn't get bogged down in semantics or scoff and say “that's just semantics”? When the meaning of our words are all we have to understand each other, why is not semantics revered?

If you mean emergent properties arising from consciousness or some non-material phenomena, then you can't reconcile them really. Give it up. Eat a Snickers bar and forget.

I don't see them as mutually exclusive but if it feels like it's a struggle and you decide to go the snickers route you could always contemplate the emergent properties of salt as you eat.

There's a rule? Hmmmfffppp!! I had no idea.

I hang things where I want to until I don't want to anymore.

Doorknob things bug me.

If they bang, chime, ring, have bells, or in some way, make noise: they must go.

What's my dog thinking and how big is his brain, anyway?

Is there really such a thing as "non-clumping mascara"?

Depends. Holiday stuff has different rules. I hang some things on some door knobs but not most things. There aren't any permanent door knob hanging objects though.

Bèsame* 01-07-2015 09:08 PM

Doorknobs...

The doorknob inside the bathroom closet..I like to hang rubber bands.

Sometimes the doorknob holds bras over night.

I can't really hang clothes, mine are toooooo long. Yes, I'm a tall one.

JDeere 01-08-2015 01:54 AM

Doorknob is christmas only. Mom would prefer it be all the time but its frowned upon by me and dad.

Lol, me too. The only decoration on my doorknob is the occasional bra. And sometimes clothes, since I'm kinda short. ;)

Curiosity ...

A pair of socks I can see and a pair of shoes I understand too.... But, why is it a pair of pants?

Pants were originally two separate pieces that buckled/buttoned at the waist, somewhat like chaps, maybe that is why the plural is implied?

You have 2 feet so a pair of socks and a pair of shoes. You have two legs so a pair of pants. The real question is why, if we have 2 arms is it not a pair of shirts. After all, we also say a pair of gloves/mittens. To continue, we have a pair of breasts but don't wear a pair of bras, yet we only have one vagina but wear a pair of panties. I think that it makes no real sense.

I don't hang anything on the doorknob. I'm tall too and if the clothes touch the floor, that means bugs have easier access to the hiding places in my clothes. I know.. I know.. it may not be rational but it's my brain so what can I say. I have an over the door hanger thingy where I put clothes, bathrobe and towel, both in my closet and in the bathroom.

I don't think a lot of folks could handle it if vagina(s) came in pairs.

Is line dancing just 2 dimensional square dancing?

Daniela 01-22-2015 07:58 AM

Do we really get wiser, or just older?

ETA: am I supposed to answer your line dancing question?

why do we drive on parkways, yet park on driveways.?

I don't know about everyone else, but I'd rather have the view of a park while driving. As far as parking on a driveway, how else are we going to cause traffic jams?

I've heard of line dancing, of course, but I wouldn't know it if I saw it. Lol, is that the same as boot scooting? Perhaps someone better suited for this question can chime in...anyone? :D

I've done both line dancing and boot scooting. They can be the same but line dancing expands into different realms.
Believe me when I say that you would know it if you saw it. Hard to miss.

I suppose line dancing could be 2D square dancing. I might have to think about that the next time I'm doing it. Hmmmm

you, but only in a gentle teasing way...if it had been collective it would have been an anguished scream of frustration.

However it might be a good q: Sad to say, I haven't given it much thought but does Borneo have a vibrant GLBT Community?
