Weather report
72 degees and sunny in central Texas. Spring is coming to Texas.
I am worried about my friends in the northeast. |
I lost power for a little shy of 50 hours. When you lose power, you start to count time much like parents count time for babies--in very small increments.
The alarm at work didn't stop until it came back on, so I had that blaring in my ear all day Saturday. Not a fun day. Let's not do that again. The winds were lifting up the roof of the business next door on Friday and the water was being pulled out of the gutter, so it looked like a special effect and it was flying off into the sky. Winter storm Riley was weird. The people that typically lose power, didn't, and those who typically hold on to it, didn't. It's opposites day! |
It's raining again. Flood and wind warnings are up again. And, cuz we havent had enough fun, another nor'easter on tap for Wed with an unclear rain/snow line. Thinking snow would be better than more rain but maybe not. Corkey, the next one is coming from your direction. Thanks for sharing. LOL. Hopefully the tree guys will get here before Wed. |
3rd time is a charm. Another nor'easter starting late tomorrow - with snow this time. Estimates of 6-12 inches with some localities up to 18 inches. And high winds. :| This is becoming annoying. LOL. |
I'll take 3 to 5 for 1000 Alex
|
Today was in the mid 60's but Monday, we're expecting to break records for earliest 70's ever recorded in March.........
|
Skylar's coming for me.
 |
Track of the storm shifted east. Blizzard, high wind, coastal flooding warnings up. Everything but emergency services closed for tomorrow. Not a good sign when the snow removal guys leave a trailer of equipment on the property. Good for catching up on sleep. Hoping the power holds. Really need to invest in higher boots. Wonder if they make leather hip waders. |
The skies were clear as a bell this morning, yet this afternoon the skies ate hazy with nascent cloud cover moving in (more rain, but at least it's not snow).
High today was near 67*. Low tonight around 45*. |
18 inches of snow headed my way.
I don't like 18 inches of anything, much less snow. |
I could not and would not want to hoist anything 18" up ... even with hydraulics!
Seriously, I do not see how folks in the northeast U.S. are making it. All of you, take good care! |
Winter Storm Warning
We're expecting 8-12 inches. Could be 18 inches where we are.
Getting only light snow right now, but know what's coming. Temp is 32F outside so it's right for the storm. |
This storm is not going to be pretty. LOL. We have had monsoon rains all night. Now switching to snow. Winds are bringing snow in sideways. Temps dropping. Have lost power once already. Coffee is on to fill the thermos. Must always have coffee. LOL. Chocolate would be nice too but I forgot to buy that. |
44 and partly cloudy in Essex Missouri.
|
I'm on Bondi Beach in Australia. It's 39C and "surf's up"
|
There is another freaking nor'easter coming Wed into Thursday. At the moment it seems like another wind problem rather than a rain/snow problem for us at the shore. Inland is a different story. I am not even gonna deal with the projections of another one coming on the weekend. |

Soooo....I leave for work this morning with a forecast of 1-6 inches of snow and come home to 5-10 inches of snow. Pardon my French, but fuck Toby and his 4'Easter. |
Just as Autumn arrives slow and late in north central Texas, Spring comes fast and early. And she's here. Temps in the 70s with cool breezes and lovely nights. Rain in the forecast and little blossoms everywhere. As soon as the storms end, the dreaded Summer arrives. I hope it's the stormiest Spring ever.
