It's the simple things
Sleeping in till 11 am (this from someone who gets up at 6am every day)

Today, so early, I find joy...
... Joy in my child snuggled against me as he watches a movie. ... Joy in new found paths that lead to places I have dreamed of many times before. ... Joy in giving reassurance. ... Joy in being needed. |
Waking with Zues (my dog son) snuggling with me. Knowing that for today and tomorrow the world is on MY schedule, not I on it's schedule.

Talking to my baby girl, as always, is the highlight of my day and also, today, because I'm grumpy and in pain, my cat is being particularly cute, she's found a bit of plastic from a vitamin container lid, the security seal part and she's chasing it around, picking it up in her paw, bringing it to me to show me and all the while telling me all about what she's doing and where she is ...
It's hard to be grumpy when I'm loved by my beautiful baby girl and my little furry arse! :playingcat: :ballcat: :rollcat: :cat: :king::princess: :married: :love1: :sparklyheart: |
Hearing from a dear friend (and employee) that she went to see my chiro this morning and that for the first time in a couple of years with disc fusion surgeries, knee surgery, another pending cervical spine surgery coupled with fibromyalgia that she feels 100% better than she did this morning and that she is hopeful to get back to living her life soon rather than just pushing through the pain!
YAY!!!! (I might happen to love it when I am right! LOL I have been trying to get her to see him for almost a year!) |
Getting off work this morning after a non-stressful shift, having breakfast with a good buddy, then coming home for nap time with the Best Cats Ever.

a big lotta postal lovin'. small things that i enjoy, from someone i adore. such a good friend, she seems to know when i need a pick-me-up.
i forget, sometimes, just how very fortunate i am...how wealthy all the wonderful people in my life make me. i *am* a fortunate son. |
finding my old cat all wrapped up in my couch blanket, slumbering peacefully, knowing he has a good life and feels loved. Not taking this for granted...

A trip to the farmers market always makes me happy. Stocked up on stuff for the week. Actually, I didn't buy much as the garden is starting to peak.
I sat in the overstuffed chair to read, :glasses: then fell asleep. Why can't I do that at night? makes me feel elderly.......cat napping in the chair. Soon it will be time for baseball :pirate-steer: |
got my strawberry pyramid filled with soil today. Lord that was harder to do than I imagined! next, we need to get it planted...I have a garden waiting to be put up around it and its all been on the backburner until i could get outside and do this step!

Today was a great day spent the morning in the aisle of the book stores, first barnes and noble and then this lovely used book store. Three stories of books , with a cup of coffee and a great book what a way to spend the morning.

My girl as she always does with her sweet ways she knows I am having trouble dealing with the being hurt thing and feeling useless in many ways she is so much stronger then I am and I am one lucky Cowboi to have a beautiful woman that supports me loves me and stand by my side.. I have met my match in every way

I posted this on my facebook but this just made me so happy today I want to post it here.
This morning I took the dogs out to pee. One of the dogs is half german shepherd (or maybe one quarter lol) and the rest whippet (which is a small greyhound) and he LOVES to run and is lightning fast - so fast he can catch mice.. and flies.. and wasps (which aren't really fast per se but will sting him and he's a fearless little fella). So I take them out but he stops cause he can't go any further cause he had to pee so badly. But I didn't know he stopped and kept walking and accidently pulled the collar off of his head. Well, he knew he was free. But did he bolt? NO! He went right to the steps to the door to be let back in. This was HUGE to me. My other dog is terrible about running away and it takes me hours and hours to get her back. But my boy did not want to run away - or even run. While it may not seem like much, it touched my heart and made me smile :) ~~~shark~~~~~~~~ |
This just happened within the hour. The Pirates called me and asked me if I was available to attend a week night game in the next home series. (yes)...history, I have a weekend season ticket plan. They asked me what game I wanted to see...blah blah blah....and they told me these seats would be my complimentary upgrade if I renewed my ticket plan.:blink: Whoa!
My seats now are really great seats, 10 years of upgrades. I was not expecting this. |
