seeing her smile when I made scrambled cheddar cheese eggs, crispy bacon, cut up cherry tomatoes over eggs, and a simply everything bagel...with coffeyes, it is those simple, little unplanned moments that are so very precious to me...e..and we ate on the patio...neath a clear blue sunny sky...and enjoyed THAT moment...we made it special...

And what an absolutely delicious meal it was! Almost as delicious as the handsome Silver Butch sitting across from me. These moments are just as precious to me as well...laughing in the kitchen...you + straw + straw wrapper at Sonic yesterday...ice cream eatin in the pouring rain...showing me around the island also in the pouring rain...the little things we do for each other spontaneously flowing as naturally as our breathing...

You make me smile just by being you!

Getting my father an easter rabbit (candy) and his medicine having to be on an empty stomach so he looks at my mother and says, "When can I eat my bunny?" LOL!

You would realize how funny this is if you also knew how strict she is about it being taken on an empty stomach like the doctor said. LOL!

I recently lost my beloved Great Dane, Molly. I posted in another thread how, although I said I'd never get another Dane because of their short lifespans, I was glancing through the listings of Dane rescues...and came across a pitbull mistakenly grouped with the Danes. As GHD and I have always been partial to the pibbles (we already have one, and I've had several in my life), we decided to go visit his foster home and see if he was a good fit. Turns out that he is a sweet dog...but dominant and very food aggressive...so we had to pass on him for the safety of our other dogs. GHD and I decided that we would take a break, and not look for another dog just yet. Well...this morning...we saw a post on facebook (we both get posts from rescues), about a dog at the Manhattan ACC. She was on the urgent list, which means she had very little time left. We read about her and found that she was an owner surrender (they decided they "didn't want a dog anymore") and that she was only 7 months old. In her picture, she looked so sad, and SO defeated....we decided to drive into the city and take a look at her. Well...her picture didn't lie...she is a beautiful, sweet little dog...but seeing her in person was heartbreaking. She was one of the saddest little dogs I've ever seen! She perked up a bit when we talked to her, and thumped her tail a little as she licked our hands...but then she just put her head down and sighed. It was like she'd just given up. Needless to say....she is now ours...and will be coming home to us, her forever home, this Tuesday. I can't wait to show that sweet little girl that she doesn't need to be sad or afraid anymore..and give her all the love she deserves!

i was SOOOOOO hoping you would get another, your heart is just too big not to let another baby into it.

no dog will replace your Molly of course but Molly would love the fact that her momma is helping another one just like you did for her!

This made me smile (((((((((((( FC )))))))))))))))

I'm going to be heading over and picking up my dear Femme friend, Irene, in a little while and taking her home from the rehab center.:cheer:

She'd better slow down that wild partying life of hers and start taking care of herself from here on out. :winky:

I'll be glad to get her home and settled back in her own little house. :):awww:

Today is a good day and one that both Irene and I have been waiting and praying for for a long time now. :praying::vigil:

Thanks to my pretty cool Pop for loaning me his Buick LaCrosse (Pop's a sporty guy) to bring her home in, because she's not able to climb up into my big Dodge Ram truck. It's a wonderful day for popping open the sun roof and letting the warm breeze blow through our hair on the way home. :D

:)

after spending close to an hour shaping my ten year old daughter's brow into two little delicate brows of beauty, she decided to play in my eye make up. Well deserved after such torture?? Yes, indeed. I smiled ear to ear when I heard her exclaim, "I can never get my eye shadow even. I will die single!"

cinderella 03-05-2012 06:39 PM

Paw prints...

on my heart, sloppy wet puppy kisses on my face for, 'just because' reasons. Pinky you have stolen my heart with your silly/funny/rascally ways - I love you, my precious monkey. :)

ArkansasPiscesGrrl 03-05-2012 10:20 PM

what made me smile today?

standing in the delivery room, waiting for the birth of my youngest son's first child (he is 36, and has wanted to be a Daddy since he was about 5!). Watching the baby's head crown, watching her Momma's pushing so hard, and when the baby's head was delivered, hearing her take her first breath and cry! Then watching through my OWN tears the sight of my son, tears streaming down his face, as he witnessed the miracle of his daughter being born.

Welcome to your new world, Miss Isabella Rose (aka Izzy)! With all its' foibles, this new world is a pretty darned amazing place, filled with lots of people who LOVE you!

...an unexpected visit from a good friend.

1ladyface 03-06-2012 10:11 AM

Inmate 12004 (from originalplumbing.com) got out yesterday! We skyped for 4 hours. So good.

cinderella 03-06-2012 02:20 PM

This tore at my heartstrings...

...and welled up my eyes. You have an enormous heart, and God bless you for taking this poor puppy baby into your home, and your heart. I heaved a sigh of relief when I read you are bringing her home.

I've had doggies before, but not until my Pinky, have I loved a pet so deeply and so completely. When you posted how sad and defeated she looked, it broke my heart. The thought that it could've been my Pinky in that cage, killed me. Please keep us updated on her progress. I want to hear reports of bright eyes, happy tails, and sloppy wet kisses for her new mommy. :) I am sorry for your loss of Molly, but I know Molly is happily looking down on you, and is smiling.

Blessings on your heart and home.
