Look over my w2 and decide if I want to file with my dad or take it and file myself, since he claims me, for many reasons.
Prepare for this upcoming work week. |
watching hoops and lamenting. Indiana down by 10 at halftime. If Michigan
wins, Hoosiers don't have a chance (fingers crossed for IU). Go Hoosiers..Go Hoosiers..Go Hoosiers....ad infinitum |
We went off roading, then we came back to camp for lunch. Kasey is napping, but soon we are headed out to a lovely Italian place in a scenic mountain town for an early Valentines treat.

Work. And it's ok, I get next weekend off, and the conversation has started about ....camping!
AND ....You must return the redbox video..it's going on 3 days. |
I get to hang with the little boy. He's 11 months old and active, active, active. I think we will take a walk to front of my development and play on the playground. Nice to have a little one around again. Then manis and pedis with Mommy, while Momma takes the little one home.

Agenda
I have the day off for Texas Independence Day.
Dishwasher repairman is here Doctor appointment PT Recycling center Oil change for the truck Shop for mom's birthday gift Grocery shopping Pay bills Wash laundry Cook dinner Get ready for work tomorrow |
It looks like my day will be about home maintenance!
I plan to clean and reorganize my screened patio, or lanai as some call it. I need to see about buying some screen and re-screening it, as screen tends to dry rot here, but that will have to wait for now. Next I need to do a perimeter search of the outside of the house and get rid of any newly constructed wasp nests. It's probably a bit too early in the season for them to start hassling me, but I want to stay on top of it. Evil buggers! Wash the mailbox! It's white and the chlorophyll from the grass makes it splotchy green. Change hvac filter and clean out the drain line. Vacuum out the lint trap in the dryer. Check the fluids in my truck. Hey, maybe I will even get around to giving the old gal a bath! :winky: |
My daughter and future son in law are in the process of moving out. I thought about going to get paint for their old room, which will now be mine again.
That way if they finish today I can maybe start painting tomorrow. Im getting company this month and I really want the bedrooms in order. Im also mailing out my dad's birthday present today. Other than that, I may just go for a good hike. My day got off to a bad start and I need to find some joy today. |
I dust mopped and wet mopped all the floors this morning(we don't have carpet). Washed and hung out laundry, cooked, dishes, helped spouse shower, now I have to shower myself and run a couple errands before going to my part time job at the nursing home tonight. :jester:

I worked and worked and worked and it was tiring and good.
My last three hours of work was hosting a postcard writing party at my building for folks to come together and write postcards that we will be sending to political leaders. The turnout was phenomenal. An immensely diverse crowd of women and a few men. Now, I am eating oatmeal, and packing to go to a much needed and desired slumber party tomorrow. |

Going to NC today for a family function. Its a beautiful winery in the hills of NC.
|
And now on my agenda is to fix the garbage disposal since I seem to have gotten it stuck :blah:
|
Tea, tarot, reading, painting, relaxing, napping.
|
Need to run some errands. Want to get a pedi and there is a small place at the Mall one can enjoy a half hour foot massage AND I SO WANT TO INDULGE that BUT NOT all the crowds. Maybe I will go on a weekday when less crowded?! Then I could swing in to Cody's Roadhouse for some of their divine wings & celery sticks!! |
I'm debating whether or not to hit up the bookstore. There are pros and cons to this.
Pro: I have a coupon. Con: It's a bookstore and I love it. Pro: I'm only really going for one magazine and one item for the coupon. Con: That theory never works. Pro: It's only a 15 minute drive away. Con: It's only 15 minutes away. Pro: I got my tax returns back and have set aside 'play money' already. Con: I've got money to burn. Pro: The smell of the store makes me happy. Con: The better it smells, the longer I stay and the longer I stay, the more I pay. |
This past week I sorted out no telling how many family pictures, so I am going to the hobby shop to get picture book supplies to put them in some sort of order. There is only one family member who knows who they all are and she lives in Texas so between the both of us we should be able to figure who these folks are. I should have done this years ago.

I woke up with little Bella and I fed and walked her.
I made myself some coffee, and when Pete woke up, I made us a hearty breakfast of scrambled eggs, waffles, and vegan sausages. I started grading an eight inch pile of Algebra I work from ninth graders using dull crayons, but of course I merely scratched the surface. I met a friend at a community meal that welcomes everyone, those who are food insecure, and those who enjoy sharing delicious vegetarian friendly food. I came home and watched Pete burn toast and make a peanut butter sandwich. She is in school, and she has too much homework to go gallivanting around town. I started a load of laundry, and I made a large batch of Madhur Jaffrey's spicy onion relish, and now I'm procrastinating by making long posts here. |
Meal prep is already in progress! I have a sirloin roast in the crockpot with all the accoutrements and some sauce simmering on the stove for a veggie lasagna. About to start on the little omelet squares and have bread rising on top of the fridge.
Laundy is going. Dishwasher is going. Audiobook is super fun. Random texts. Bella at the window. It's a good day :) |
My agenda today was to paint the back bedroom. I got it nearly complete. I just have to do the top edge and one corner tomorrow. And paint my headboard so it doesn't clash with the warm newness of my boudoir. ..

Recover from yesterday. I don't bounce back like I used to. But the night out dancing and staying up gabbing until 6am was worth it.

Dear Wife and I are flying home to Las Vegas today from Mother's funeral this past week. She passed away this last November, in Las Vegas, where we were taking care of her. We had her cremated in Vegas, then brought her back home, to Illinois, for burial. It was a nice, simple service, with my cousin Mark, who is a Presbyterian minister, officiating. Mom can now rest in peace beside my Grandma.
It will be so great to get home. We're flying out of St. Louis today, so thank Gawd we're missing the horrible snow storms that are rolling through the upper midwest!!! Home again, home again, jiggety jig!!!! :D ~Theo~ :bouquet: |
TMS, burrito and froyo, a nap, then maybe cleaning the bathroom, letter writing
