Weighed in and lost 1.9. Yay! It feels sooooo good to see the scale going down instead of going up again :-) I really need to get back into my exersice routine. I know when that happens, I will be losing 3-4 consistently. But, we keep hitting into the 100s and I can't run in that heat. I need to just drag my ass into the gym I pay every month for... Excuses, excuses. I will get there when I am ready. I am just glad I rocking it with my food choices and tracking.

Hi Healthies! A quick update to say i'm still on track and doing so well here in Oregon. Of course i entered Daddy bootcamp, heh, but portions and everything have been so well managed and i really feel like i'm healthier than i have ever been. We went shopping the other day, and i bought pants a size 14 and pretty, pretty dresses, which i wear alllll the time now & love them & skinny jeans, which Mr Mtn loves on me and makes me feel so good about myself. i started at size 26 which was tight for me and i'm sure i was comfortably a size 28 when i started this journey. i posted a picture on facebook of my journey of pants, which made me so emotional. Mtn lined the pants up on the bed over top of one another so i could see the difference and what i've done.. It's so hard to swallow the hard work i've done and see the changes in me, inner and outer.. Why is that? Went shopping with the girl's here and spent 2 hours in Victoria Secret, can i say i LOVE that place? It's the first time shopping that i am not shopping for plus sizes, and that also made me emotional. The girls really helped me celebrate how far i've come...It was a great day! Exciting stuff! This week, We'll be burning my 2 pairs of biggest pants, and sending them off into the Universe.. |
Major hugs Sylvie! You make me teary:) so happy for you!
I am still doing well. Really pushing myself to build up my endurance again. I can't believe how deconditioned I got the 4 months I was ill. Back to walking 30 minutes twice a day and 6 flights of stairs up and down. I lost 10 pounds this month. Hard won that's for sure. At least I feel better physically. |

First of all I wanted you to know how much of an inspiration you are to me, and I'm sure to everyone else in this thread (and in your life as well). I've been watching your journey over the last couple of months and I have to say that I see you as someone that I can really learn alot from. I'm going through my own issue with weight; I was doing so well earlier this year, and when I fell off the wagon I really fell off. I made a promise to myself over the last three days that I am going to start making small changes AND get my ass back to the gym. Well I will be making my first trip back to the gym this afternoon in 3-4 months and mostly due to my anxiety I'm nervous as hell ~ but even with that said, I know that I can't worry about what other people think, my health is more important then that. I plan on weighing myself before I start working out, so I know where I start at and how far I have to go. I read somewhere, not sure where, that even to lose 5% of your body weight will help to lessen the chance of getting certain diseases so I have a plan ~ I will weigh myself and will work on losing 5% of my body's weight at a time. Make them goals but realistic and attainable ones; make it so I'm not freaking out about having to lose a certain amount and just concentrate on little victories at a time. Next up will be to tackle the whole *drinkmorewater* thing as well as concentrating on changing what I eat. One step at a time, but I think I'll get the hang of it yet :) Quote:

Lost .3 today. Better than nothing! Still losing! Yaya :-D

Hey everyone,
Okay so here is my update from saturday! I had my first workout in like 3-4 months and I can feel today very much that I lost alot of time when I was gone; I was intimidated and abit scared to go back in but once I got back into it then I was okay. I did the treadmill, weights and then ended with stationary bike ~ I'm thinking about taking a couple of classes too, one of them being Zumba and the other being a class called Body Pump which shapes, tones and strengthens the entire body. I look forward to starting to take some classes so that I'm not just bored with doing weights and such ~ one thing at a time right? Glad to see people are doing well :) |
Hi Leigh, It's definitely all very overwhelming - i found that when i first started trying to lose some weight and gain control of my eating, that i was miserable because i couldnt handle all of the changes at once. For me, i had to try doing one thing at a time.. i tend to be a girl who needs small and very focused steps.. i do much inner processing as i walk this journey and so i really needed to get myself to a better understanding of everything. So i did that by taking small steps at a time.. So one week i focused on one thing only, such as drinking "x" number of glasses of water or getting 15 mins of exercise in.. ANYthing so i wouldnt get overwhelmed.. The second week, i would find something new to try, but would continue doing what i started with week one as well.. So i slowly merged in a step a week and it helped me adjust to change .. Also, remember there will be many falls..It's always about getting back up and pushing yourself again. For me, it's been a series of many things to work on...weight, self-esteem, food addiction, getting active, dealing with emotional triggers because i am an emotional eater as well, etc... We all have different journeys, different triggers and it's important to get to know yourself and be extremely mindful of what works for you, what doesn't work for you and what triggers you.. You wont get it all right on day one.. In fact it's been since April 2011 and i still am getting to know myself on so many levels.. Be easy with yourself, gentle and practice much self love. And always, always celebrate every small success and accomplishment, you deserve it! And the accomplishments will always outweigh the falls... Remember that.. Don't get bent on the falls, take them as lessons and the ways to get to know yourself, your body and your needs. It is a lot of hard work, and i really can relate on the difficulty of staying focused and on track. Thank you for thinking i am an inspiration.. i've a long way to go still..But i definitely owe this journey to all of you for sharing your own journeys, challenges and celebrations..i feel you are all an inspiration to ME. Good luck! & i'm always here for advice, a hug or a smile! All of you here have definitely been those things for me, & more! |

Maybe consider easing yourself into some cardio and weights and then after a bit of time, add another routine (then another, and another.... ) Taking on too much too soon might result in injury and then the feeling of "oh I can't do this to myself anymore" settles in. |

What can I say, other than just thank you for being you! Yeah the first day was overwhelming, the second day wasn't bad and now today will be the third day (I'm actually looking forward to going back). I'm looking into taking a class, maybe even two, at the Goodlife Fitness Centre that I belong to here in Winnipeg; either BodyPump, Zumba or one of the Yoga ones. I hopefully want to work myself upto BodyCombat or the RPM (cycling) classes soon but those are more long term goals to work towards in the future. My biggest thing right now is just to get back into the swing of things, concentrating on my circuits and maybe say the Zumba class and working on those for now. I'm drinking more water and eating better; still trying to work on weening myself off of Pepsi ~ its slowly catching on but I know I'm gonna have a long way to go though its still progress. I'm learning more on SparkPeople (I use it as much as I can) and have been thinking of joining Weight Watchers because I think it would benefit me greatly. I even downloaded the app on my iPad called Zinio, which allows you to download your favorite magazines ~ they just happened to have the Weight Watchers one and I was able to get a 6 month subscription to it (which to me is SO cool). I'm just very excited about the future and where its going; my sister will be back in school next week so I will be able to get back into a better routine of working out earlier in the day instead of at night and being able to go for more frequent walks (especially during the day). Everyone here is an inspiration to me, I only hope we can all continue our journeys doing as well as we are :) |

I've lost lbs.. for the life of me can't figure out where/why.. lol but I'll take it. I keep changing my diet and shocking my body.. hmmm. I Enjoy working out again, and believe it or not running in the FL humidity. :seeingstars:

I freaking love working out, I've lost a ton of weight and kept it off. Swimming has been my addiction and has helped me shed off those pounds. I've done a bit of the Weight Watchers philosophy using portion control, eating more fruits and veggies and organic sustainable products, not processed shit. Getting more sleep and working out at least 30 minutes a day is key. Also I eat grapefruit about twice a day and it speeds up the metabolism hardcore burning off the food you just ate.
I love giving advice on weight loss and keeping in shape, it is my passion and my love. Good luck to everyone on living a healthy lifestyle and let me know if you need any advice. |
I gained .3. I partied hardie over labor day, so I can't complain! Back on track!

It's ok to splurge once in awhile .3 isn't bad. You will lose it in a flash. The more you worry about gaining or losing weight the more it will become an issue just make it a part of your life. Wow I sound like a motivational speaker lol. |
Thanks for posting everyone! It sure helps!

Got in a good workout today, weighed myself & apparently it says I've gained a couple pounds this week but I think its just me gaining muscle :)
Had a small personal victory last night - instead of having chips/cookies/chocolate etc for snack last night I had a bowl of baby carrots & a greek yogurt veggie dip yummyyyyyyy :) SUCCESS! Its small but gotta start somewhere :D |
Had my first workout for the week and it felt good; the scale says I've lost 2 lbs *YAY*
Its the small successes that mean the most, and for me that was a victory in itself :D |
