Tragic. Poetic. And criminal.
De Falco: "This is De Falco from Livorno. Am I speaking with the captain?"
Schettino: "Yes. Good evening, Cmdr. De Falco." De Falco: "Please tell me your name." Schettino: "I'm Capt. Schettino, commander." De Falco: "Schettino? Listen, Schettino. There are people trapped on board. Now, you go with your lifeboat under the prow on the starboard side. There's a rope ladder. You climb that ladder and go aboard. Go aboard and tell me how many people there are. Is that clear? I'm recording this conversation, Capt. Schettino." Schettino: "So, I'll tell you something..." De Falco: "Speak up!" Schettino: "So, at this moment, the boat is tipping..." De Falco: "I got it. Listen, there are people coming down the rope ladder from the prow. You go up that ladder, get on that ship and tell me how many people are still on board and what they have on board. Is that clear? You need to tell me if there are children, women or people in need of assistance. And tell me the exact number of each of these categories. Is that clear? Schettino, you may have saved yourself from the sea, but I'm going to make you pay, I'm going to make your life miserable. Get the (bleep) on board! Schettino: "I'm here with the rescue boats, I'm here, I haven't gone anywhere, I'm here. De Falco: "What are you doing there, captain?" Schettino: "I am here to coordinate the rescue..." De Falco: "What are you coordinating there? Go aboard! Coordinate the rescue from aboard the ship. Are you refusing?" Schettino: "No, no, no, I am not refusing." De Falco: "YOU GO ABOARD: That's an order. Don't make any more excuses. You declared abandon ship, now I'm in charge. YOU GO ABOARD. Is that clear?" Schettino: "Commander, I'm going aboard." De Falco: "Go, and call me when you are aboard. My air rescue is on the prow. Go. There are already bodies, Schettino." Schettino: "How many bodies are there?" De Falco: "I don't know! One for sure! I've heard of one. You're the one who has to tell me how many there are. Christ!" Schettino: "You realize it's dark and here we can't see anything..." De Falco: "And what? You want go home, Schettino? It's dark and you want to go home? Get on that prow of the boat using the rope ladder and tell me what can be done, how many people there are and what they need. Now!" |

It never gets that cold here, but if it did, I would wear one of these. |
The speed of sound in water is 1,435 external m/sec - nearly five times faster than the speed of sound in air.

Que en Paz descanse la Bambi de Capadocia (spanish HBO, mexican Female version of Oz)... The only reason I'd bother watching the Series,....at first, anyways... (even if she *was* incredibly awkward fumbling to finally have a 'taste' of la Colombiana) http://img113.imageshack.us/img113/6140/bambi5dm0.jpg Capadocia |

I remember my grandmother telling me once, when I was talking about a guy that I was seeing being upset that I wasn’t calling him back, that him being angry about my lack of communication was a sign that he cared and was invested. She was right. lol. So his being upset in the email that she isn’t responding doesn’t seem so far out there to me. He’s not threatening her or holding her cat hostage. He likes her. With women, dating was never so easy. I made it easier by defining my role clearly and taking charge. The ambiguity was always maddening. I’ve had guys show up at my job, call five of my friends to get my number, randomly show up wherever I am, send emails out of the blue….lol. Being “liked,” to me, is never a bad thing. I have had stalkers too. That was very different. After a relationship ended or someone who I didn’t know at all who never introduced themselves following me or calling my house at 3am and hanging up. In those instances I was clear that I didn’t like them that way. Only after I was clear could I judge them or their behavior. Up until that point it’s more a matter of perspective. If she was into him, this would be a love story right? A very different headline. Ignoring men never works to get rid of them if that’s the goal. Unless they have no self esteem. That is exactly the game of straight dating. There is a book called The Rules, it’s simply old fashioned dating advice and caused a huge uproar when it came out. My grandmother always said the same exact things in that book, that is how her generation dated. She ignored all men generally and the ones she really liked, even more so. She was married to someone who was aggressive in winning her over and adored her for 65 years (until the day she died.) |

i <3 my beetle
I drive an 05 convertable beetle and I just love it. I love the color, I love the seats, I love that its curvy(like me ;) ) and I love that in the warmer months I can put the top down and just drive with the wind in my hair.
Volkswagen has now come out with a new beetle model. It's bigger, sportier,(I'll admit it handles better) and they have gone for a more masculine look (their words during training) to "open up the market" I think VW did a great job with the new design and I will probably get one once my little bug bites the dust. However, here on the car lot it seems people immediately love it or hate it. And those that love the new one hate the old one, and they are very vocal about it. And so, I must stand and listen to how much they hate the old style, how girly and curvy it was and "what's with the bud vase". Lol all the reasons I love it! Viva la difference right? |
I'm hot blooded, check it and see.
I've got a fever of 103. Come on baby can you do more than Dance. I'm hot blooded, I'm hot blooded. * Song is stuck in my head. |
