Bèsame* 09-04-2024 03:30 PM

Well, I got to sign on today. It's been a week, I'll say

Finally got to the mail box with out a thunder and lightning storm.

I have gotten Nanners. I want to go on vacation with you!

Thank you Clay for being my liaison over these past few days. Your the bestest.

Soft silver, we are in the same boat. I'm putting the pedal to the metal myself. You can do it!!

I'm in the same boat too. As per usual, mine will be there on Tuesday, 9/10. I hope.

Soft*Silver 09-06-2024 07:11 AM

I did not make it, unfortunately. I have been so extremely busy tearing down the garden and dehydrating, freezing, and canning all the produce while working full-time and getting landscape ready for a new pavilion to be delivered! I am friggin exhausted. Wrong time of year to take on a project for me.
So I’m sorry I’m assuming this means I will be out for six months reinforced. I will miss all of you. But the garden comes first. I barely sleep!

Bèsame* 09-06-2024 03:16 PM

I have received another wonderful project! Clay, a great job for sure!

Soft Silver, well, you know the consequences. However, you do have a few more days. No pressure.

Looking forward to getting the rest...

Soft*Silver 09-07-2024 09:41 AM

If I can mail mine Monday, I can get it in. I have Sunday all day to work on this.

I finished mine tonight. I'm going to overnight it tomorrow, and it will get there Tuesday.

A N N O U N C E M E N T:

My project has an online component. (I colored outside the lines, a little bit.) Sometime between now and when Besame sends out the projects, I will be texting you a link so you can access the online component. So be assured, it is not spam.

Soft*Silver 09-09-2024 02:20 PM

Sorry everyone,

I did not finish and barely even got started. See you all in six months! Vegetable harvesting is a timely event. They have to be done or I lose them

I thought it was 4 months? Also, soft, you're welcome to hang around the thread and say hello and join in the conversations.

Bèsame* 09-13-2024 03:22 PM

I have received everyone's project and turned them around back to you, today.

Looks like Monday is the day for receiving summer vacation memories!!

I loved everyone's ideas. We are such a creative group!!!

nanners 09-15-2024 09:56 AM

I'm excited to get the last project we did tomorrow!

Does anyone have a burning desire to wrangle the next project or two?
If not Clay and I have 2 projects in mind.

Project 1:

September/October

Cheer Up card

Clay would like to give us the opportunity to cheer up a fellow BFP member who is dealing with cancer. Hys idea is to make a greeting card and send it to the wrangler who would send it onto the BFP member. At least that's what I think hy said...Clay, will you please clarify and let us know how we'll know who the person is we're making the card for?

Project 2:

November/December

Holiday Recipes

This one I'd wrangle. We would make one or more holiday recipe cards 4 X 6 or 4 X 6 folded with our favorite winter holiday recipe(s).
I am a COOKIE MONSTER! :chef2:

Is anyone interested in one or both projects? Or does anyone else have another idea?

Bèsame* 09-15-2024 01:13 PM

--Great Idea for holiday recipes. Maybe we can start that earlier so that we can have them back in our hands, the first part of December? I might want to try all of them during the month. A bigger card than 4x6? How about a 5x7 so we can decorate the card. I know Clay will appreciate a bigger size. Maybe , with 3 holes on the left side and use binder clips to make a 2024 booklet??when we receive them all??

When I spoke with Clay, I thought it was a one on one opportunity to reach out. I definitely want to send a card(s) often. I know the joy of receiving some cheer in the old fashioned mail!

nanners 09-15-2024 02:07 PM

I stand corrected. Yes, we can do individual cards for the BFP member. I'll let Clay take care of that one.

Thanks for the input Besame!

So for the Holiday recipe cards, yes 5 X 7 is better! And yes, leave room on the top for 3 binder ring punches for me to assemble them and resend them out. If the holes are on the top it could even be a folded 5 X 7 card (making it 10 X 7).
Shall we just start that one next and make the final due date December 1 so then we have the rest of the month to busy ourselves with other holiday activities?

easygoingfemme 09-16-2024 06:09 AM

I'm in for both activities!

GeorgiaMa'am 09-16-2024 04:17 PM

For the Summer Vacation Project:

I sent everyone the link to the additional content for my project. If you didn't get it, or if you have trouble with the link, please let me know. I hope you like it.

I can't wait to see everyone's projects!

nanners 09-19-2024 07:33 AM

If nobody objects, I’ll post the Holiday Recipe project tomorrow.

clay 09-19-2024 12:24 PM

For the "cards and or notes, my plan is to have anyone who would like to participate to cheer one of our members up, PM me, OR, text me ( for those who have my cell#). for info on who/what/where info! Thanks everyone

***NEW PROJECT!***

NEW PROJECT!

Holiday Recipes

Create a 5 X 7 Recipe card with your favorite holiday recipe.

Leave a half inch border on the TOP of your 5 X 7 card so I can make them into a booklet. (landscape orientation).

You can do more than one if you wish.
Must be flat, nothing more than a puffy sticker thick.
As always, glitter must be contained.
Send $10 with your project.

Fun for all: Guess my favorite holiday cookie or my favorite holiday candy and you will get something special back with your completed project. Post your answer on this thread before 11/15/2024. If there is more than one person with the correct answer, I will do a drawing to see who gets that something special.

Sign up starts now and ends on 09/26/2024.

Due date is November 16th with a grace period which will end November 23rd. I will have them back in the mail by November 26th so hopefully everyone will have them the first week of December.

I sure am/will. We won't know much before Thursday, what Helene is going to do.

We are well inland, so there's that! Thanks, easy!

clay 11-07-2024 01:53 PM

My fellow crafters....

Just want to let you all know, Bulldog (Bully) passed away yesterday at her home with her family by her side.

I have walked this entire journey with her, and she kept that smile & sense of humor. I last spoke to her last week, then kept in touch with her mom, by phone.

For those who sent her cards, she was so happy to get them. Her mom told me that she had lined up the cards & would smile, read them over & over. My wife & I were sending 2 a week to her, texting often & I last spoke to Jules last week, then the mom since then. I am sending a sympathy card to her now.

May Bully RIP...fly high, luv! You are free now. I love you, Jules!

Holiday Greetings!

Hi everyone,

I know we haven't done the holiday card exchange for a few years, but I am one of the few remaining dinosaurs on this earth who still sends them out. If anyone would like to receive a card from me this year, PM me your name and address and I'll be happy to send you one.

Happy Holidays!

Soft*Silver 11-10-2024 09:16 PM

I too would like to send out and receive Christmas cards! Send me a message or if my mailbox gets full post here That you are interested, and I’ll contact you!
I’m actually hoping to make Water color cards this year myself!

Bèsame* 11-12-2024 05:51 PM

I want cards! This is my first Christmas by myself in a long time. Getting cards always makes the season merrier.

GeorgiaMa'am 01-08-2025 10:29 PM

Are we going to start up a new project for the new year? Does anyone have any ideas? We've had months off for a break, let's get something going!

nycfem 01-09-2025 06:35 AM

That would be great! I’ve missed it and you all!
