Knowing what fun was ahead, as I ripped into my Halloween package , and all kinds of fun cards came tumbling out. Everyone unique, as I looked them over snacking on a variety of treats.

Thank you Everyone.

Should be in the mail on Saturday. Home with pink eye and another infection for past 2 days...need to not touch it right now for fear of spreading disease.
I'm sorry for making you wait so long.

Penpals and crafty sorts!

If you have an extra moment this holiday season, please send THIS girl a Christmas card.

It would mean a lot to her and her family.

Bèsame* 12-10-2014 09:16 AM

The cards are in the mail....

Gemme 12-29-2014 06:47 AM

Thanks for all the cards, everyone! I even had some surprise late arrivals. Extra fun. :)

Hi everyone. I wanted to apologize for the last couple of activities I did not do my part in. The biggest problem I have been running into is the due dates. We get paid on the 15th of every month, so I usually have to wait til then to buy whatever material is needed for the projects, then send them off. When the due dates for things are before then, I try my best to make due, however, it is almost impossible.
If there was a way for the due dates to be after the 15th of the month, I will be more than happy to participate in any and possibly all activities. I love them!

Anyways, again, I apologize for the past and looking forward to the future.

This is a helpful post. Yes, we can do our best to accommodate this. Just remind us right away if anyone forgets.

New rule for penpal thread that applies to all group projects:

I think we've experienced a slow down on this thread because folks are reluctant to sign up for projects when we are having some people repeatedly not come through with what they signed up for.

For 2015, the rule is if one of us is more than a week late or drops out of a project for whatever reason, that person is welcome to continue posting but is not allowed to sign up for a project again until 2016. No exceptions. This rule must be posted at the bottom of all new projects that are being wrangled so that members can thoughtfully consider whether we wish to commit to a new project.

This is not a punishment but is a way to try and make the group projects something members can trust that we are getting what we signed up for.

This is a new beginning, so we are all starting at the same place :).

I like the idea of not tossing out a sign up deadline right away too. Announce the project and give all of us at least a week or two to mull it over and see if we can get the materials together and can put the time aside that the project will entail. THEN do the sign up.

I wouldn't mind each project taking a bit more time if there'd be less drop outs and more mindfulness.

But I'd have to say the MOST frustrating thing, as a person who's crafted in all aspects....wrangler, participant, early, late, etc....are those who are late.

If memory serves me, there is still an outstanding project out there for one of our members.

Tardiness affects all of us, especially those like Sis, who sometimes have strict deadlines to adhere to. It's also disrespectful.

For 2015, for myself and all participants, I'd like to not have any of that. Going forward, whatever the deadline is, that is the last date that your project can be postmarked in order to participate in that project.

Finis.

nanners 12-30-2014 07:10 PM

Well, I'm going to call a spade a spade here. I, and most people who participate in this thread know it is me who didn't complete the puzzle project.
I will happily still complete it, and nycfem will get it.
I will not participate in 2015 until that is done, and only if I know I can fully participate in a timely manner.

I apologize to all of you, especially nycfem.

Sincerely,
nan
