Chocolate cake is good for you..dont let anyone tell you its not...its just a conspiracy to make us unhappy skinny girls and we dont want none of that...

let me have a fork of chocolate icing slide across my tongue as I close my eyes and embrace the moment when desire meets my reality all at once...

An update on the addictions project:

If you haven't mailed yet, you need only send 7. Femmebaker had to drop out of the project. If you already sent 9, you will receive 2 back. I have everyone's except for Tommi's and Purepisces, and they both have let me know that I will have theirs within a week. And then I shall mail them out :)

Looking at the list, and hoping those that can will, and those that can't let me know. The Raffle List link is below. There are several items just added that I haven't posted, so I am taking extra little gift bags for tickets that sherrie bought, and the stragglers.

Anyone wanting to/promised to donate to the pen Pal Basket, please send item to me or to the BFPlanet address if you are not attending.

So much to do, so little time.

I can still do the bags though they won't be super fancy. Would you rather I send them to you before the reunion or bring them with me?

Ideas/suggestions needed...

I want to participate in future projects, but I have a dilemma: My new apartment has the teeniest, tiniest mailboxes EVAR. The postal carrier(s) refuse to leave any packages for me and instead send them to the downtown post office. Of course with budget cuts, that post office is only open M-F and during hours I'm at work in a different city. I can't receive personal mail and packages at work.

Have any of you dealt with this before? What was your solution?

Thanks! I hope to join in on the fun again soon!!!

don't know where you work, but could you have things sent there?
or ask post person to deliver on sat or a day when you would be there?

Thanks for the suggestions, Ami! :)

I can't receive personal mail at work, but maybe I can leave a note for the mail carrier in my mailbox to leave packages at my door on the weekend...I have a separate entrance so it's a little tricky.

Thanks, again! :stillheart:

How about the mailman leaving it at the manager's office.

UPS Ground will leave it @ your door.

How about an alternate address we could mail it to? Friend ? Relative?

Yep and I got a post office box. This worked for me for security reasons as well. That way, when a larger package comes through than will fit my po box (I got the teensiest one they had available), they put it in a larger box and leave the key to the box in my smaller po box. It runs me about $60 for a year with my po box.

OH!!!!

I got my package today and they are just wonderful! Clearly, some of You put a great deal of thought and effort into Your creations.....as always!

Thank You, thank You, thank You!

Soft*Silver 07-24-2010 10:29 PM

Oh NO!!

there was a mistake in regard to my project. I had written a long poem about addiction, and I asked Jen to print them out because I dont have a printer. But there was some confusion and Jen thought my signature quote was what I wanted her to print out...the four or five line poem you got from me is not my project!

I am going to fix this...I will send my poem to each of you, along with something I just made. I was working on it for a class I am going to give locally...

Thank you for trying, Jen, and I am sorry for the confusion! See...this is why we should be responsible for our own projects! LOL. I asked her to print them out as a favor since I dont have a printer. Oh dear... I feel so bad for the confusion and for the minimalist effort you all thought I did!

What I got is not your signature line....Kinko's prints stuff, btw.

amiyesiam 07-24-2010 11:20 PM

I got mine today too!

I have a short poem from softness

but, but, but

I don't seem to have anything from Jen

Soft*Silver 07-24-2010 11:52 PM

the signature line is from my yahoo.com email, not from here.

Sorry, Softness (and everyone)! The only content of your actual email was that poem, so I assumed the attachment matched it. No good deed goes unpunished, lol! I probably should have followed my first instinct and not taken responsibility for someone else's projects at the last minute. I should have asked you to email your poem out to the participants yourself if you were not doing a snail mail project. In any case, I look forward to receiving your project in the mail, and please don't worry about sending the mailing costs! :bunchflowers:

Pixie......

How are we doing the snail mail letter thing?
When are we doing the snail mail letter thing?

Can You tell I'm anxiously awaiting getting started? :happyjump:

Soft*Silver 07-25-2010 01:43 PM

I sure appreciated you helping me out and it was my own fault that the attachment didnt come through.

I also realize through this, is that I just dont have the money to participate in these projects. I love doing them, love receiving them but I need to wait until my finances are more stabile. And my health too. Part of my problem was my back going out in an untimely fashion.

So please take my name off the letter writing. And i will get my poem out to everyone if they would be so kind as to PM your addresses.

BTW...I am going to frame the addiction projects and put them on the wall next to my desk where I read my Big Book and do my daily reading...

thanks everyone...I have enjoyed being part of this group and look forward to the day I can return!

I have another question about the Pen Pal Letter project.....

Do I remember correctly that we're going to do that soon? (Read: before the Reunion) Or are we holding off on everything until after the Reunion? We have a little almost 4 weeks until that weekend....it doesn't take that long to write a letter......and then a regular project for September?

Right? :praying:

morningstar55 07-25-2010 05:13 PM
