It's primarily a Southeastern based company. Many moons ago, I worked for them. It was dangerous for my wallet!

I am not sure.

Zimmeh I haven't received any card in an envelope yet, however today I did get that beautiful over sized lighthouse postcard! So very pretty! Thanks :hangloose:

Zimmeh 10-18-2016 10:18 PM

You are welcome! For three days after Hurricane Matthew, the Ponce de Leon lighthouse was without power. I got called into work so I will have them out by Thursday or Friday.

If they have books, postcards, and greeting cards it'd be downright dangerous for me and my wallet as well!

Plus electronic gadgets, stuffed animals, children's toys and fun kitschy type stuff. Add to that, I was the customer service desk manager and had the power to order any book I wanted for myself, employees or customers.

Perhaps it's a blessing in disguise then, that they are a Southeastern based company!

I recall 1/2 Price Books sells postcards too. I remember the stores in San Antonio did.

Ok, funny story..

After I moved here, I started noticing what I passed on the way to work. The restaurants, the grocery stores, my bank, and various places I would go too. I noticed I passed a 1/2 Book Store. Ok, file that for later when I want to sell books and stuff.

Well, now I need postcards. One day after work, I sat in my car, and googled the directions. I wasn't quite sure of the exit of the freeway, or was it off the access road? Texas, has one way access roads that run alongside of the highways. ( just doesn't make sense, I tell you) Couldn't find it, but I know it's over there~~~~>

So I head on over to find some goodies. Drove into the parking lot. Got out, walked to the sidewalk out side of the store. Hmm, a huge roll of bubble wrap, and a pile of boxes. I was disappointed to say the least. They must have moved and didn't take the sign down. , ...ok so since then, I've gone to the local antique stores to find postcards.

Oh, let say, about two weeks later, on my way to work. I saw that sign again. But wait..there is no "k".

That there "k" is most definitely and "X". 1/2 Price Boxes!

I only saw what I wanted to see. So...still on the prowl for postcards. I'm going out of state...which means I have to drive across the huge state of Texas. I'm postcard stopping along the way!!your in for a treat...Buckees post card..lol

Hello???? It's the age of technology. Welcome to BAM.

homoe 10-29-2016 07:44 AM

Yesterday I got the most hilarious postcard!

It wasn't signed, I couldn't match the handwriting with previous cards, and the postmark was smeared. I just want to thank whoever sent it and let them know I definitely got a chuckle out of it! :giggle:

Thank you very much and I appreciate the info BUT for buying postcards I gotta see them up close and personal!

In the past I've been stung a time or two. What they featured on their site and what arrived, two very different things unfortunately!

My best card shopping experience however was on Allport out of Portland OR!

homoe 10-30-2016 07:52 AM

I've been meaning to ask if there are any avid basketball lovers/fans within this postcard exchange? :basketball:

Lyte 10-30-2016 10:49 AM

@ Besame ... thanks for the cool Halloween card! Yes! Terrifying! :p

clay 10-31-2016 12:52 PM

Gemme 11-01-2016 05:32 AM

Thank you, Besame and Georgia, for the lovely postcards. Besame, yours arrived right on schedule on Halloween!

GeorgiaMa'am 11-01-2016 07:22 PM

homoe, Thank you for the beautiful hand-decorated card, and also the cards from Chicago. They brought back some fond memories. I've been to Chicago several times, and it's one of my favorite places. My idea of a fun vacation is to stay at the Palmer House and go to the Lyric Opera. I know, I'm a nerd. Chicago has many other things I enjoy as well. Thanks for reminding me!

Zimmeh 11-01-2016 10:30 PM

Besame, Georgia Ma'am and Homoe, thank you for the cards!

Georgia, I will be making that hamburger soup on Thursday in my CrockPot. Thank you for the recipe!

Besame, I loved the homemade card :)

Homoe, You are making me miss living in Seattle.

Once I get paid again on the 14th, I will be sending out more cards.

Thank you for making my day brighter.

Sorry, sorry, sorry! I have had a lot on my plate the last few months...er, years. I ended up resigning my job on Monday. I'm taking a couple weeks for me before I get back into the hustle. I had already stocked up on postcards and had a bunch addressed and signed, I just never got around to getting postcard stamps.

:hammer::spank: go ahead, I deserve it.

Since I have free time tonight I plan to begin making it up to you all. Forgive me. Love me. 😘

I think some of us were more concerned with your well being than we were about not receiving cards from you!
Glad to see you back and sending good thoughts your way:hangloose:

GeorgiaMa'am I received your postcard today and may I say what a clever and creative idea that was.

Very original, in fact I'm a bit jealous I didn't come up with something like that! Also I'm thinking the more soiled the card, the better the end product:eating:

That's how it works in my kitchen!

I'm so glad you enjoyed the card. I hope you like the recipe.

grenade 11-03-2016 04:25 PM

Okay. I sent out enough today to catch me up. The post office lady asked if I was having a party.

Zimmeh 11-03-2016 07:36 PM

Lyte,

I received your post card today! Glad you loved the Alice in Wonderland card :) One of my favorite characters is, Snow White. I also love Tinkerbell and Barbie dolls.
