I have the windows open and can hear my neighbors on the porch downstairs...
The young woman downstairs (who is expecting her first baby)... is softly singing lullabies. To see this young woman for the first time, she comes off as a bit harsh... curt when greeting you (like she doesn't want to be bothered) covered in tattoos - mostly skulls & horror movie scenes, facial piercings and semi-goth appearance.... but she breaks the stereotype by singing sweet, gentle lullabies. I can just imagine her rubbing her pregnant belly while singing, like she did the other day. |
The floor is turning out beautifully. A bit more sanding than I expected but it is definitely worth it. It will be varnished by the end of the week.
Colors are picked, woo hoo...and the winners are Weeping Willow for the bathroon, and Prairie Sage for the bedroom. And...it gets better! I have a sink...but best of all I have the installation instructions in hand BEFORE I rip another wall out. Woot woot! Life is sandy and colorful right now! :builder: |

What made me smile today...
Celebrating birthdays. It's my mom's birthday & one of my very good friend's birithday, too. I have lunch plans with my mom today at her favorite bistro and dinner plans tonight for margaritas on the patio at my friend's favorite restaurant. It's such a beautiful, spring day... it's a good day! |

Lunch with Mom went great. She's in good spirits, eating well and getting around good, enjoying the sunshine and tormenting me with dragging me shopping. She even picked on me about my curls (on a windy day!). Geee Mom, my curls are YOUR fault! LOL
My story and pictures of the new hatched, fuzzy baby birdies I got to see on my recent trip really made her happy and I enjoyed her smiles and chuckles. |

despite feeling like hell (thank you, chemo round 4) a couple things made me smile. the nurses at the infusion clinic told me that i was one tough cookie and an inspiration when i stopped in for a shot to boost the white blood cells in prep for surgery.
and a bought of beautiful pink flowers from someone handsome :) yay for smiles when it's the last thing you feel like doing! |
