Waking up to a very sweet messege. Talking with someone who proves that chivalry does indeed still exist and there are still good guys out there.

i went to new smyrna beach today and walked forever. within my view, there were pelicans gliding effortlessly over grassland, and within moments, these lofty birds were close to blue-green ocean breaking white caps; the shoreline was alive with zig-zagging sand-fog about my feet, and i found enough feathers to hold in two hands. seven pelicans eventually left my field of vision, and were spaced evenly in a row over curls in the water- the best. long lifespans, a pelican can reach 43 years of age.

Pelicans! I love pelicans. I love to see their pink skin and feet. And watch them eat. Oh what a joy! They are such amazing birds.

Belle, I have to agree with you on the birds. Is this close to Juniper?

My papabear coming home from a set up that his coworkers planned, grinning from ear to ear eager to fill me in.....only then to call her as promised and lose time with new beginnings...

A smile....doesn't even begin to cover it!

Both of my grandmothers are still living. The younger one (my dad's mother) who used to be the most active now suffers from Parkinsons. The last time I saw her, just a few weeks ago, she just had a slight shake in both of her hands. Now, she also has a "twitch" (not really sure what to call it) in her mouth and jaw, and has started to "sway" her head back and forth (not quite the serious shaking yet). It was really sad to see, because she has always been so vibrant and outgoing, and now because of the illness she rarely leaves the house because she's afraid that people will laugh at her if she spills something or starts shaking more.

What makes me smile, is that today we went over to her house because she called wanting "the full treatment". We trimmed and dyed her hair (the usual burgundy it's been since I was born), gave her a manicure (the usual hot pink), and did her makeup (with the usual fire-engine red lipstick). It absolutely tickled me to death that she wanted to get all dolled up for tonight. Also shocked that she was dolling up because she had accepted my dad's invitation to dinner.

Every year it's become tradition for my dad and my son to take all the ladies out for a Mother's Day dinner. They took me, my mom, both grandmothers and my great aunt out to our favorite seafood restaurant. It made me smile to spend time with the special ladies in my family, and especially that the one grandma had such a great time without worrying about her illness. I <3 my family. :)

- Knowing today is going to be a day of leisure. No need to be anywhere at a specific time.

- Cuddling with my honey, while one of our fur babies was contently sleeping on my chest.

- Having coffee and watching the different birds at the bird feeders and the squirrels happily jumping around in the green grass playing with another.

- Weighing in and reaching a 25 lb. weight loss victory (so far)
