I just realized that I have two short work weeks ahead, with the best weekend filler ever...
This weekend is Victoria Day weekend in Canada, so I'm off to Calgary to meet some lovely folks from here at the Planet with two four-day weeks as the bread in this happy sandwich. God save the Queen! Laissez les bon temps rouler :) |

A lunch date planned with my boys, mom and Bully.
Today we celebrate Mother's Day. Getting my kids together at the same time, which is not an easy feat, they both have very busy schedules. Nothing better than being with family. |
I am enthusiastically smiling today. And it all started with an antique vanity I bought for my daughter. She did not have room for it anymore, so brought it to my house. Then I wondered where I could put it. I love it, it is beautiful and delicate and still has its original mirror.
And then.... I started wanting to toss furniture. And reorganize EVERYTHING. So, I got the BEST MOTHER'S DAY PRESENT EVER!!!! My kids came over. Moved my furniture. My son-in-law tried to fix my lap top. (He couldn't that worries me). I got a huge pile to go to good will. Another pile to go to the recycle depot. And this morning the furniture recycling company came b4 9... took away the four HUGE pieces of furniture I wanted gone. I took my stuff where it needed to go and was at work by 10. My house is in a bit of a shambles... but oh my goodness change is good. Tonite I am unusually work free, how cool is that??? It's like the Universe knew I would go crazy, and need a night to put everything back together. So yeah :D I am smiling!!! |

Tomorrow I am leaving on a jet plane lol I will be spending my birthday with my sister. I have not seen her in three years that is a long time. I am very very happy.

Getting her message, telling me something that made me get all bubbly inside. Knowing that I only will sleep 4 more nights without her (one of them on an airplane), before I get to spend the night in her arms. :)

It made me smile... But not sure about the others.
Walking down the hallways, looking up at the ceiling ant the fluorescent lights. In mid step I noticed a long and kind of wide object inside of one of the panels. I walked back to grab the ladder and told a few people in the lunch room that there was a beautiful (Thingy) in the light panel. Sooo half of them followed me back to the side hallway. When they got closer, half of them disappeared, the others left started cussing and screaming. I climbed up the ladder and opened the panel. The most amazing Rat snake I have ever seen, color and pattern wise was starting to slide out so I grabbed it just below it's head and pulled it out. Guess I was lucky, it looked like it had just eaten and was napping. Two of the nurses told me to kill it. I looked at them with a lowered eye brow and said, ohh hell no, I will not kill this snake, I will release it outside near the bayou, they said a good snake is a dead snake, we don't want it back in here again or it's babies crawling around. I said, well that's kind of late, babies must be up in them there panels and Pooffffff they were gone. So I was on a ladder, with a beautiful snake, with the pleasure of admiring it's beauty and magnificent colors. Climbed down the ladder, folded it and grabbed it with one hand while holding the snake in the other. It made me smile to know that the snake was going to get a good drink of water and more than likely have lot's of food to eat in this beautiful weather outside of our hospital by the bayou. :cheesy: |
I was on Facebook today and saw my half-brother who is an author and lives in Japan post his book and I saw a thank-you from someone that I had been looking for since I was 20. My half-sister who lives in Boston with her girlfriend...I am so happy that I finally had a chance to chat with her. She had not heard about me, but some how I had seen a picture of her and had noticed that she looked a little like me. I do not talk to my father and neither does she, he was a busy man and made lots of little babies all over the eastcoast.
Maybe soon I will get a chance to meet her in person....I am really smiling, wow this is so awesome. |

Yesterday...
I needed to book Rooster's flights to NY to spend his half-summer with his father and was dreading the cost. I'd looked and estimated it was going to be about $350.
Finally went on to book yesterday....logged in on his frequent flyer account and got a message.....you have 10,500 miles availalbe. Oh good! Checked the number required for one way.....10,300. Sweet! Booked that leg....for free. Went to book the other leg....got another message....we're having a sale....here's $10 off. Good! Clicked to check out....got another message....you have a $25 travel bank credit (from a delayed flight) would you like to use it? Heck yes I would! So his flights are booked....and instead of $350 it cost me a tad less than $150. Life is good. :cheesy: |
