I live in the Indiana Dunes National State Park and leaves are falling and trees are cracking here due to the heat and lack of rain. I've never seen anything like this in the six years I've lived here.

We had a big thunderstorm, which was good. The bad: a big wind blew a tree onto electrical wires and knocked out power for three hours.

No mosquitos here in the woods all summer. Never saw anything like this. Acorns and leaves are falling, sap is flowing, Geese are flying south already, squirrels are foraging, raccoons fattening up.

Micro climates
It's a typical summer day on the Western side of San Francisco, about 60, completely gray and overcast. Had to turn on the heat when I woke up to take the chill off. There is fog in the bay, I can hear the fog horn that guards the Golden Gate Bridge. Might burn off 1ish and we might see the sun for a little bit, but the fog will be back at 3 like clockwork. Now if you are on the Eastern side of Twin Peaks, towards the Castro or the Mission neighborhoods, it's probably sunny already and will hit about 80 today.

SE Ohio
is grey and rainy with a current temperature in the 70's.
Tomorrow is supposed to be much of the same, with slightly higher temps and less chance of rain. This weather makes me sleepy and get headaches. ~SAB |
'Paradise' is on fire:
yesterday it was, I s w e a r, over 100 degrees; today was no different. I'll take pearly gray, cloudy days over toxic days with scorching heat. Better yet, I like snowy weather. |
It was a beautiful 74* with light winds low humidity and sunshine wall to wall. Could see Canada from here, on the news of course.

Cool weather outside this morning! Lowest it has been in 4 months! Breath of fresh air. I think it's 65 degrees outside . Hope to enjoy this day.

We have pink skies this morning - the pearly gray clouds are ensconced in shades of reds, pinks and oranges at the sun crests over Mt. Hood. It's very chilly here; we had showers of rain again last night. There are weather reports, since two days ago, that foretell of expected snow showers to come over the coming week and weekend ahead in the Cascade Mountain range and in parts of the Rockies.
Right now, it's about 41 degrees outside. High today: lower 70s (?) (I turned the heat on this morning for a few minutes to take the chill off the air... I even stood outside on my patio deck and could see my breath in the chilly morning air) ETA: my neighbors across the street are cold too! They've got a fire going in their fireplace and smoke is wafting toward the early morning sky.... It makes my heart smile in the morning to see that bit of loveliness. :stillheart: |

We have another day of pure gorgeousness outside.
Nothing but blue skies for miles and miles, not a cloud in sight. Maybe upper 70s today? Maybe low 50s tonight? I swear, we never have this much sunshine ever. It scares me some, seriously. We need rain. Fog. Sideways rain. More fog. Sheets of rain.... Then..... back to sunshine. Please. . |
We have pearly gray skies and it's rather cool today:
My neighbors across the street are using their fireplace, I can see how the tendrils of smoke trail effortless toward the heavens above...It's also a perfect day for soup and bread making :stillheart: High: maybe 63 degrees? Low: maybe 50 degrees or lower. |
