Talked to R, she's still in a lot of pain. It's definite her gallbladder must come out but because she still has this infection in her intestines, they are not wanting to do the surgery. I think if they don't do something soon, the biopsy in her mediastinum will not take place on Dec 7th as scheduled. She has way too much going on all at one time and I know she just wants to be well. I just hope the doc decides what's most important and does that first. I feel so bad for her and now with this distance I can't even go visit her or at least be at the house for the kitties. I'm thankful for her friend that's been going over there every day to take care of them.
Please keep the prayers coming, the battle inside her is still at war Thank you all so very much :) |

:candle: I light a candle today for Dolo and all who love and care about her. She was told by doc today that the goal is comfort care. Pain and other symptom management. No more chemotherapy, because it would interfere with her current quality of life. She knew what he was saying without his just coming out to say it. I could not ask the important things. To inquire how she felt about this. I was cowardly. Didn't want her to hear my voice if I asked. All I want now is for her to hang on til I get there. Please, a prayer for her comfort. For her kids. Her husband. And, for me, that I can bear it.:candle:

Quick update on R
The surgeons finally decided to take her gallbladder without her having to be outpatient. That's just the beginning of what needs to be taken care of so she can start on the path leading back to healthy again. Keep the prayers coming Tomorrow morning she has her gallbladder surgery |

In honor of this being World AIDS Day, I have a white candle burning for those who have died from this horrible disease. Not just the famous like Ryan White, Arthur Ashe, Rock Hudson, & Isaac Asimov, but my friends, my brothers friends, yours and list just grows and grows.

Today, in honor of World AIDS Day, I am lighting a candle for those living with AIDS, their friends and family. My oldest brother lost his partner in 1995 to an AIDS related illness and continues to battle the disease himself.

R had her gallbladder surgery late this afternoon
She was back in her room by 6:30pm We'll see how she's feeling tomorrow This is just a stepping stone to what's been found so far Keep the faith with me along with those prayers |

She's hardly eating. Food "tastes nasty" to her. Not real hungry, either. Her doc said that he was open to suggestions (from me). I sent Dolo an email recommending either Megace or Marinol for appetite boost. Anyone have suggestion about the taste thing? Please pm me.

Talked to R for almost an hour and she sounds so much better. I hung up because I knew they'd be bringing her some kind of lunch soon. She's hoping whatever it is stays with her. With that in mind, she's hoping to try solid foods soon. I can't remember the last time she even wanted to try something solid. She's been sucking down Ensure for so long now. Anyhow, this made me smile because she wants to get out of the hospital before she has to return on the 7th for her biopsy.
