Looks like there will probably be no bingo for me tonight, as I am freakin stuck thanks to a steep ice-covered driveway. Grrrrr. I really needed to leave the house today.

starryeyes 01-26-2013 11:11 AM

Having a completely honest conversation (slobbery, tear filled one) about how I feel insignificant to her because she won't acknowledge my relationship (among other things) and having her make it "my fault" and hanging up on me.

Wow Mom, way to go.

*finding comfort in cinnamon toast*

Portions of this video, addressing the blaming of the victim mentality in our society, just piss me off. I'm glad they are addressed, but seeing the behavior and quotes just remind me of how pissed off I am about the way sexual assault survivors are made to feel responsible for their attackers decisions...

My client actually asked me to talk to his GF on webcam....really???

I don't think that's in my job description...nope...

Nothing! (lol) I laugh stuff off and walk away!

Hollylane 01-27-2013 05:45 PM

I had a ridiculous craving for dill pickles, so I bought an 80 oz jar (I also had the thought that this will make a good change jar later) of Vlasic Kosher Dills...So, later at home, after having them refrigerated for awhile (I only like them ice cold), I'm crunching away, and I take the time to read the label, looking for carbohydrate content.

and I see this:

Serving size: Approximately 1/4 pickle

WTF?? How many people snap into a Vlasic and only eat 1/4 of a pickle (the equivalent of one bite)?

It pisses me off when I see things (not that I eat them) that are convenience foods, that are just big enough for a meal, labeled as 2.5 servings (examples: Cup of soup, or a packaged burrito). I want to see honesty in labeling. If your product is five billion calories for a mouthful, then you should just say that. Obviously these companies know that their calories, salt, carbohydrate, and fat contents are ridiculous, or they wouldn't label their products this way.

Jeez, (insert sarcastic voice here) I wonder why so many Americans have a hard time controlling their health issues?

The FDA needs to demand these companies use honest labeling, and create more nutritious foods that actually benefit our bodies, and stop giving them so many loopholes to find ways to fool consumers. And if they won't force these companies into complying, then we as consumers should do something about it.

End rant.

Seems I post here more and more often.... :|

well, it was one of those days....

I go to get the truck from my ex (I am still borrowing his car till ours is fixed) and..per usual..the gas I put in was GONE...ok...fine..I left early so that's ok...

Go to the gas station. It's PACKED...go on to the next one. It's Sunday. Billy doesn't open on Sudays....never has. DUH...go back to the packed station (the gas was REALLYYY low..below E...no other choice) the station is STILL PACKED...I pull in and park my ass there. Then notice one of the clerks that works there shooting the shit with another one that works there...she FINALLY goes over to her car, which is at the pump, and moves it so others can get gas... :|

Then, I realize that I haven't eaten. I realize this due to gnawing hunger. I remembered I had pretzels in my work bag...but they fell out when I peeled out of the gas station in disgust. I have to close the passenger door better anyhow so I pull over and grab the pretzels whilest I do this....then, while taking a sharp turn, they promptly spill allllllll over the exes truck :|

Then...I get to the grocery store with the bubble invaders. I deal with it cuz I'm getting used to it...and because I got some wine while I was there...and that helped my mood...sometimes even anticipation is therapeutic...

Get to my client's house. NO PARKING.... per usual. :| I have 25 lbs of carrots to bring in, 8lbs of apples...my own stuff and misc other groceries...I am parked allllt he way on the other side of the common...and still have to go get this stuff for him. BECAUSE someone parked in the 10 minute parking spot and never moved.. for DAYS...

Then he gives me attitude about a red pepper that I TOLD Him I bought WHEN i bought it...and lastly...I'm trying to study for my entrance exams for nursing school. I sat in the kitchen where the light is gooder, and every few minutes he either comes in or calls me in. Now that I am on the couch he hasn't spoken to me in 30 minutes or more....seriously??

I KNEW today that I should have stayed in bed.....this is what I get for doing the growed up thing...

dixie 01-27-2013 06:25 PM

I remember now why I don't want to date.

Before I had even logged in at work this morning, this conversation pissed me the fuck off...

Supervisor Tom (someone I have never met, and didn't bother to introduce themselves to me before expecting me to take him seriously):
Hey, you need to remove that photo of Obama, we're not allowed to have political things at our desks here.

Me: :| (moment of stunned silence):
When did a photo of the current President become a political statement, and not about showing my patriotism?

Supervisor Tom (shrugs): I was just told to tell you that you have to take it down.

Me: Who told you to deliver this directive?

Supervisor Tom:
It doesn't matter, you just need to take it down.

Me: It matters to me, because I have never seen that in an employee handbook, it is not political material, and I would like to address this with the proper party.

Supervisor Tom: :| I'll have to get back to you.

Here is the photo that someone found so offensive, that they felt the need to voice their concerns to leadership.

http://i48.tinypic.com/21khtvt.jpg

As you can see, there is no political party emblem, or campaign slogan. It is simply a picture of President Obama, and a smaller photo of his family. This conversation felt so surreal, I can hardly believe it took place. What fucking country is this? I would never complain about someone having a picture of a president at their desk, whether I voted for that president or not. I would think of it only as an act of pride in our president, and in our country.

My immediate supervisor's face, became absolutely crimson with fury when I told him about this conversation. I advised him that until they can show me in the employee handbook, that a photo of our president is a political statement that is not allowed to adorn my desk, I would be leaving it up.

I swear that guy thought I would just do as he asked, without complaint. Which tells you that he has no idea who he was talking to. He also looked pissed off when he told me to remove it, as if I had personally offended him, and I think he may be one of two that had a problem with it to begin with.

I can tell you, that I will take this as far as I need to, I will not back down. It is absolutely absurd, and it felt very much like harassment.

Today, my supervisor pulled me aside:

B: "That conversation with Todd?"
Me: "Yeah?"
B: "It never happened."
Me: "Sure, thank you B"

It was yesterday...but...

I went to McDs for a tea on my way to work...I order it very Sallylike I admit ....

Large tea half cut with lemon and no ice

I tell the orderer that...and it doesn't come up on my screen correctly, so I tell her so. She tells me she knows and the amount and such...

I get my tea...it has ice...I tell the girl it was supposed to be NO ice..she looks at me and says "she says you didn't say no ice" And I proceed to tell her that I did and it the screen thing...She looks confused and upset...and this other girl comes over (the one taking orders I believe) and snatches the cup from my hand (since the other girl wouldn't even take it back from me) and dumps it out and makes it all over....Hands it back to me without a word....and instead of half cut she has put half and half in it. With lemon :|

By this time I am going to be late for work and I can't do anything more about it...but I was tealess and tired as a result of my caffeine free day!

And yes...I know there are far worse things in the world...but this was my peeve for the day. More so because it is further testimony to the downward spiral that is customer service...and human relations in general

Despite the ridiculous amount of joy I am feeling after the Ravens Super Bowl win, I am still pissed off at the shit load of sexism in the Super Bowl commercials. The Go Daddy commercials absolutely disgust me. I am so tired of the devolution of American advertising.

Agree!!! And yet people still use them...God only knows why.

Hearing that our local county humane society will no longer
be accepting or adopting out cats. It's a basic death sentence for
feral cats & kittens in our area because the two cat rescue organizations in
the county are already overrun. It's just really sad. :(

Quiet simply that would have been me that pissed me off today.....

Zimmeh 02-04-2013 11:08 AM

Being woke up to my car being towed. The spot I parked in was not properly marked as a no parking spot. The tow truck parked in a Lowes parking lot and re-hitched my car to his truck. He could have lost my car while trying to leave the complex.

Still laid up in the hospital....day #4 and no end in sight. I'm hooked up to IV bags of high-impact antibiotics, fluids, breathing treatments and the like. I am tired.....so tired. They come in at all hours of the day and night, changing IV bags, sticking me for labs, taking all sorts of body fluids for specimens. I've apparently got something bad......most probably from work.

And, to top it ALL off.......

Here comes the Infectious Disease Specialist. :|

WTF?????? :| :| :|

Th end to my relationship of almost a year with these words..." I love you very much and I want you in my life but I can't do a relationship any more right now because there is just too much." Then followed up with who knows...maybe we can try this again in the future.

cinnamongrrl 02-08-2013 04:14 PM

I got to work early today...to avoid the snow AND to get here early enough to grab my paycheck and go get it cashed (SINCE my agency failed to tell me that my direct deposit form that I submitted THREE WEEKS ago was not the right form for their payroll) only to find that I have NO paycheck.... :|

They called my employer (and didn't bother calling me) and said I crossed something out and they didn't understand it. I handed in the time sheet personally. The woman looked at it. NEVER said a word about it having an issue.

SO...he said they said it will be in today's mail (it wasn't) or tomorrows. I doubt there WILL be mail tomorrow. And the agency was closed today due to the weather. SO...now it will PROLLY be Monday before I even see my paycheck. Heck, it will probably be Sunday before I even get home...sigh...

~ocean 02-08-2013 04:25 PM

They do, but I gave them our bank form...and they wanted me to fill out THEIR payroll form in addition....and they managed to lose the form i gave them to begin with...so now I have to print another...and my bank info is just floating around...and it will be ANOTHER 2 weeks till I actually HAVE direct deposit :|

But I was more irked that they never called me in that 3 week time. I had to stop by and find out what was going on.... thank god Teddy is less patient than me....he told me it had been too long...I was like... Oh give them time to get it done lol

My roommate giving me a "week" notice. She told me April, but now a week. What a little punk. She still hasn't paid me the full month of Feb either. My bad for being compassionate and taking her in, when she had no where else, and I really didn't want to.

Oh well.. I will turn her room into my workout room. Yay!
