SmoothButch 07-02-2012 01:26 PM

The last two movies that I have seen were the Hunger Games and Take This Waltz (w/ Michelle Williams & Sarah Silverman).

We scored advanced tickets to Ruby Sparks this Sunday. We are also planning on catching Spiderman in the next week or two.

Windfall - documentary about the hazards of industrial wind farms. Very
informative.

The Green - gay teacher is accused of an inappropriate relationship with
a student. Very intense.

New Year's Eve - incredible cast including Halle Berry, Ashton Kushner, Sara
Jessica Parker, Matthew Broderick, Robert De Niro, Hilary
Swank, Jon Bon Jovi, and a bunch more I dont remember.
Very sweet and romantic movie.

Martha Marcy May Marlene

About a woman who leaves a cult and the impact it continues to have on her memory or recovery. Well done if somewhat disturbing. The ending sucked (imo).

puddin' 07-03-2012 10:40 PM

"kung fu panda, 2" (animation is jus' fun as i say!)
"abduction" (nice action flick)
"serenity" (not a bad sci-fi film)

Chely Wrights' Wish Me Away. She's the lesbian country singer who came out about a year or so ago.

The_Lady_Snow 07-05-2012 01:48 PM

This week

"Red Tails" - it was a great story that needed to be retold!

Julien 07-05-2012 01:55 PM

Snow White and the Huntsman. I liked the film, the visual effects were great as was Charlize Theron in this film.

They advertised Les Miserables before the film and that looks like one to catch later on.

scootebaby 07-05-2012 02:10 PM

DanzAmazon 07-05-2012 03:06 PM

Classic & current movies in Austin, Tx.

Prometheus - I thought it was excellent, and will definitely watch it again.

Summer classic film fest - double feature: "Meet me in St. Louis" - Judy Garland & "Broadway Melody of 1940" w/Fred Astaire & Eleanor Powell.

Great fun to see classic b/w movies in a classic theatre. Austin is a fun place to live.

dixie 07-05-2012 04:55 PM

Dark Shadows - I was not impressed

Men In Black 3 - was ok

Snow White and the Huntsman - pretty good

The Amazing Spiderman - liked it better than the first 3

VintageFemme 07-05-2012 05:10 PM

The_Lady_Snow 07-05-2012 06:35 PM

Today

"Albert Nobbs" - this movie had a lot of sorrow, the acting was amazing!

Fancy 07-05-2012 08:24 PM

Grey Gardens

...both the 1973 documentary, and then the 2009 HBO film with Drew Barrymore and Jessica Lange. What an interesting world these two women created.

Renj3 08-01-2012 10:42 AM

Moonrise Kingdom - finally a good movie in the theaters. I can see why they called it a sleeper hit. I commend the soundtrack and the young actors in the movie.
