How Will You Kiss?
Lilt me your lips, our lost breath intermingling. Synchronize our silence as lazy hours ease by. Waft cocoa, hazelnut, cinnamon, scents around me. Tremble with me in paralyzing pauses. I may no longer breathe without breathing you. - Judith Pordon Como Besaras? -Judith Pordon -Translated by John Ramos |
AMANTE
A waterfall of hair cascades down your shoulders. Silence breathes us, butterflies in our hands. Our dinners half eaten packed for later. A five star meal relished on our warm spines. While we languish on rented sheets. No bickering moments, dismal doubts, or monotonous chores shudder our cloistered moments. Eternity is not a diamond ring. It is here. Grace Ezequiel |

On bigotry: I spent a little bit of time researching the term bigotry: how the term bigotry is defined, how it operates, its etymology. Results of my limited research include a commonly held definition (wiki):
Bigotry is the state of mind of a bigot, defined by Merriam-Webster as "a person obstinately or intolerantly devoted to his or her own opinions and prejudices; especially: one who regards or treats the members of a group (as a racial or ethnic group) with hatred and intolerance." [1] Bigotry may be based on real or perceived characteristics, including age, disability, dissension from popular opinions, economic status, ethnicity, gender identity, languag, nationality, personal habits, political alignment, race, region, religious or spiritual belief, sex, species, or sexual orientation. Bigotry is sometimes developed into an ideology or world view (Wikipedia). And, an illustration: The mind of a bigot is like the pupil of the eye: |

You Who Never Arrived
You who never arrived in my arms, Beloved, who were lost from the start, I don't even know what songs would please you. I have given up trying to recognize you in the surging wave of the next moment. All the immense images in me -- the far-off, deeply-felt landscape, cities, towers, and bridges, and unsuspected turns in the path, and those powerful lands that were once pulsing with the life of the gods-- all rise within me to mean you, who forever elude me. You, Beloved, who are all the gardens I have ever gazed at, longing. An open window in a country house-- , and you almost stepped out, pensive, to meet me. Streets that I chanced upon,-- you had just walked down them and vanished. And sometimes, in a shop, the mirrors were still dizzy with your presence and, startled, gave back my too-sudden image. Who knows? Perhaps the same bird echoed through both of us yesterday, separate, in the evening... Katniss~~ |

She was passion's child, born where showers triple light, and scorches even the kiss. She was one made but to love, to feel that she was his, who was her chosen one. What was said elsewhere was nothing--she had not to fear, hope, care, nor love beyond..her heart beat here. :heartbeat:

Splendidis longum valedico Nugis
Leave me, O Love, which reaches but to dust, And thou, my mind, aspire to higher things! Grow rich in that which never taketh rust: Whatever fades, but fading pleasure brings. Draw in thy beams, and humble all thy might To that sweet yoke where lasting freedoms be; Which breaks the clouds and opens forth the light That doth both shine and give us sight to see. O take fast hold! let that light be thy guide In this small course which birth draws out to death, And think how evil becometh him to slide Who seeketh Heaven, and comes of heavenly breath. Then farewell, world! thy uttermost I see: Eternal Love, maintain thy life in me! Sir Philip Sidney |
"He is my other eyes that can see above the clouds; my other ears that hear above the winds. He is the part of me that can reach out into the sea. He has told me a thousand times over that I am his reason for being; by the way he rests against my leg; by the way he thumps his tail at my smallest smile; by the way he shows his hurt when I leave without taking him. (I think it makes him sick with worry when he is not along to care for me.) When I am wrong, he is delighted to forgive. When I am angry, he clowns to make me smile. When I am happy, he is joy unbounded. When I am a fool, he ignores it. When I succeed, he brags. Without him, I am only another man. With him, I am all-powerful. He is loyalty itself. He has taught me the meaning of devotion. With him, I know a secret comfort and a private peace. He has brought me understanding where before I was ignorant. His head on my knee can heal my human hurts. His presence by my side is protection against my fears of dark and unknown things. He has promised to wait for me... whenever... wherever - in case I need him. And I expect I will - as I always have. He is my dog." - Gene Hill |

Tenacity is never giving up on yourself or your dreams, it is telling people to shove it up their arse when they're trying to deter or disuade you from what you really want or need. It is also standing firm when you really believe in something. Frankly, it is being a dog with a bone. It is the dogs with bones that change the world. And we should all aspire to that.
~T. Coffey |
"There is no room in my body for anything but you. My arms love you, my ears adore you, my knees shake with blind affection. My mind begs you to ask it something so it can obey. Do you want me to follow you for the rest of your days? I will do that. Do you want me to crawl? I will crawl. I will be quiet for you or sing for you, or if you are hungry, let me bring you food, or if you have thirst and nothing will quench it but Arabian wine, I will go to Araby, even though it is across the world, and bring a bottle back for your lunch. Anything there is that I can do for you, I will do for you; anything there is that I cannot do, I will learn to do." -William Goldman, The Princess Bride
