Deep within our being is a place of peace, joy and knowing. It is a place called love. We are love from the core of our being. If we can live from our being of love, we can't help but attract more of what we are.

"If you dream of a world in which you can put your partner’s picture on your desk, then put her picture on your desk…and you will live in such a world.
And if you dream of a world in which you can walk down the street holding your partner’s hand, then hold her hands…and you will live in such a world. If you dream of a world in which there are more openly gay elected officials, then run for office…and you will live in such a world. And if you dream of a world in which you can take your partner to the office party, even if your office is the US House of Representatives, then take her to the party. I do, and now I live in such a world. Remember, there are two things that keep us oppressed – them and us. We are half of the equation." day 3 of rain......
The best kind of rain, of course, is a cozy rain. This is the kind the anonymous medieval poet makes me remember, the rain that falls on a day when you'd just as soon stay in bed a little longer, write letters or read a good book by the fire, take early tea with hot scones and jam and look out the streaked window with complacency. ~Susan Allen Toth, England For All Seasons |

If the people cannot trust their government to do the job for which it exists - to protect them and to promote their common welfare - all else is lost.
Barack Obama I have known a vast quantity of nonsense talked about bad men not looking you in the face. Don't trust that conventional idea. Dishonesty will stare honesty out of countenance any day in the week, if there is anything to be got by it. As someone who clearly loves butches/TG/transmen, and who is helping to raise a gender-variant child, I love how this poem speaks to the inherent strength of these kids (and adults) who dare to just be themselves in a world that's so openly hostile to who they are:
Bedecked By Victoria Redel Tell me it’s wrong the scarlet nails my son sports or the toy store rings he clusters four jewels to each finger. He’s bedecked. I see the other mothers looking at the star choker, the rhinestone strand he fastens over a sock. Sometimes I help him find sparkle clip-ons when he says sticker earrings look too fake. Tell me I should teach him it’s wrong to love the glitter that a boy’s only a boy who’d love a truck with a remote that revs, battery slamming into corners or Hot Wheels loop-de-looping off tracks into the tub. Then tell me it’s fine—really—maybe even a good thing—a boy who’s got some girl to him, and I’m right for the days he wears a pink shirt on the seesaw in the park. Tell me what you need to tell me but keep far away from my son who still loves a beautiful thing not for what it means— this way or that—but for the way facets set off prisms and prisms spin up everywhere and from his own jeweled body he’s cast rainbows—made every shining true color. Now try to tell me—man or woman—your heart was ever once that brave. http://rinabeana.com/poemoftheday/in...ictoria-redel/ |

When confronted with a difficulty, we must immediately shift our attention from the problem to the solution. We can think, speak and bring the best possible outcome into existence by focusing on where we are going, not on where we think we are.
~~Iyanla Vanzant You give issues, fears, and ideas power by virtue of your thoughts. As you strive to become a spiritual being, taking time to pray or meditate is the perfect way to keep your head and mind clear. ~~Iyanla Vanzant Until and unless you know that you are enough just the way you are, you will continue to look for more. Until you wholeheartedly believe in your own value, worth, and worthiness, in spite of your accomplishments and posessions, or lack thereof, there will always be a void in your spirit. ~Iyanla Vanzant |

“People are often unreasonable and self-centered. Forgive them anyway.
If you are kind, people may accuse you of ulterior motives. Be kind anyway. If you are honest, people may cheat you. Be honest anyway. If you find happiness, people may be jealous. Be happy anyway. The good you do today may be forgotten tomorrow. Do good anyway. Give the world the best you have and it may never be enough. Give your best anyway. For you see, in the end, it is between you and God. It was never between you and them anyway.” ― Mother Teresa |
