Cold. It's actually been COLD today, for once. It's been chilly and stormy but today was cold. And windy.

Maybe the sun'll come out....tomorrow.

Y'all send some good thoughts to Butchknight! Butchknigh has been stuck in the crazy iced road trucker pileup down in south Arkansas for hours!!

2-4 inches, my bippy. I went out with the kids around 9pm and saw about six inches in the yard. It's still coming down in bunches.

Kids out of school tomorrow, I predict out on Tuesday too. Maybe Wednesday. Since my work is at school-I'm out, too.

Howdy!

It must be nice to not have to worry about work for a few days! We should've went and sleded down the big hill on Reservoir Road today! That used to be the best place to sled when I lived in that area years ago. Instead, I shoveled my very sloped driveway all afternoon! Hopefully I'll be able to get my truck out of the garage sometime tomorrow and not end up crashing through my neighbor's house! Enjoy your days off! :)

I have roughly 14" of snow on my porch. Around 20 degrees. Local weather calling for another 4-6 inches today, and possibly up to a half inch of ice to coat over the top. ugh...

katsarecool 01-11-2011 04:22 AM

Georgia is dealing with the same thing! Atlanta is stopped working and everything is closed. Freeways jammed with jack knifed 18 wheelers who were warned about driving on these roads repeatedly! What a mess. Our temps won't rise above freezing until late Friday... I have a huge case of cabin fever and wondering if I need to move further south; like KeyWest..

Dang it, now I have to start watering my yards again.....

lipstixgal 01-11-2011 11:09 AM

Snow is coming again ugh!!

Blade 01-11-2011 12:32 PM

yep there is 1/4 inch of ice on my truck and several inches of snow. Well there was I've cleaned it off so I can go to work in the morning. Temp is 30 but it doesn't feel to cold out there. I expect it would if the wind was blowing which is suppose to happen tomorrow.

It's cloudy and 30 degrees at this moment.

My car had something similar this morning. Foolish me actually thought I was going to drive to work today - not that crazy little 4 mile commute of yesteryear either. Oh no, this is the big 'un - about 30 miles one way. North...to Concord...the land of when we don't get bad weather down here they sure as heck get it up there! What the heck was I thinking?

That's what ya get for thinking!

What are ya'll in some lil pocket or am I. I had 6 1/2 going towards 7 last time I measured the snow on the patio table, then we got the 1/4 inch of ice on that. Poor lil Fitch, he doesn't weigh enough to punch thru the ice, went bounding down the steps this morning thinking he was going to get a big ole bite of snow like yesterday morning, legs spread and he slid across the ice on his belly. He got up and gave me this WTF look, it was too funny.

Anyway, ya'll stay in and stay warm!

Jesse 01-11-2011 02:10 PM

Thinking ya'll are going to need a boat on hand for when all of that snow and ice melts.

I understand your frustration. I'm grateful I'm not in an area that can get this kind of weather any more.

However, truckers are paid by the load and if they've agreed to take the load, they have to bring it in. They know it's dangerous but it's their livelihood. I have a bit of a soft spot for truckers, as you may guess.

Right? In WA, the worst part was the snow. The snow I liked. The black ice under and sometimes on top of the snow was NOT fun, for certain. BUT...the worst thing was when the stuff melted. If it happend too quickly, it flooded and people who never had a problem with rats and other rodents suddenly did. Like my hotel. A rat got trapped in a vent and died. It took us DAYS to find it. In the meantime, not many people went into the men's bathroom in the lobby.

Houston

27 this morning, clear, high of 47 COLD!

Semantics 01-12-2011 06:34 AM

We've gotten twenty inches of snow since midnight in Connecticut.

It's weird to go out and truly have a complete white out/ zero visibility.
