Good Morning Everyone,

Sorry I haven't been here to start the coffee. I have spent the last two days hanging with my family. I took the three oldest kids to the movies yesterday and we saw the new Karate Kid movie. I have to say, it is much better than the original. My three year old niece was in her chair dancing to a Red Hot Chili Peppers song and an AC/DC song.

Thank you for breakfast this morning Lipstix!!!!

Have fun, I am off to do more geneaology searching on Ancestry.com..:glasses:

JustJo 06-19-2010 11:16 AM

Good afternoon kitchen dwellers :)

:bringcoffee: Time for a little afternoon snack...thinking some chocolate chip cookies warm from the oven...and a refill on the coffee, too.

I managed a little bit of a sleep in today, then off to the store with my son to turn in some old games and look at new. Then I got ambitious...and spent an hour and a bit mowing the front and back lawns. Looks much better out there but I'm tired, sweaty and sporting a lovely pair of blisters on my hands. Ouch.

Missing my sweetie :stillheart: ...Scoote's off adventuring with her son today too, and I'm here counting the hours. Luckily, I'll be :flying: and there on Friday for :beachkids: and :love1:

Have a good day everyone...I need to go find a couple bandaids!

OMG Jo why don't you get a landscaper?? Its pretty reasonable unless you have a lot of lawn to cover. I only have a tiny backyard and front yard man I don't do thing. I 'm Jewish princess and yes Jake made it to the temple just got home from a lunch and learn, which is lunch then we learn about some prophets Isaiah and Ezekial!! Don't ask me what I learned because the whole thing was too confusing for me. But I had a good lunch hummus and everything I could eat that hummus stuff everyday if I lived in Israel. Well my afternoon consists of me walking the dogs and then just watching some TV got up so damn early I'm lucky if I stay awake past 8 PM tonight. see you later need coffee where is that damn avatar when you need it?

Zimmeh 06-19-2010 12:36 PM

Good Afternoon Jake,

I am enjoying every minute with the kids.

How is your weekend going so far? Me, I am getting no closer to finishing this family tree. I was able to track my great grandparents back to Holland on my father's side and my mom's side is just as crazy...

Have fun today,

Zimmy

Nods. I make precious and semi-precious stone jewelery. Right now I focus on bracelets.. however, I want to add necklaces and earrings to My list. I do sell it and have a "store" on Etsy. I will PM you with a link to it. Right now I only have a few listed and I just made some this past week and need to take photos of them and load them on the site. I also do special orders.. and have done some for members of this site and BFD.

Thank you for asking. smiles.

Good Afternoon Zimmy,

smiles. I am glad you are enjoying the family time. That is wonderful in regards to your working on your ancestry. When My Dad was alive that was his passion.. to trace our roots ... it is amazing the things that you find out.

I am having a wonderful weekend.. so far... ..except the weather is being crazy.. it is hot and humid.. and now we have storms moving it. However, they are doing nothing to cool the temps down.. so the a/c will remain on. laughs.

I hope you have fun today as well.

lipstixgal 06-19-2010 03:17 PM

Wow its almost time for dinner but I'm just not hungry tonight. Too much for lunch maybe I should eat light and have a salad instead ponders?? Any suggestions anyone??

Well I'm not sure it's light, but I'm craving Cobb salad...crisp romaine lettuce, chunks of chicken, crsip bacon (I'll leave it off yours Lips), hard-boiled egg, diced tomato, diced avocado....mmmmmm. So good!

Crazy weather here too Jake...was hot and sunny this morning so I got the mowing done (thank goodness)...and not two hours ago the rain came pouring down again. I'm so glad I got it done early. I'd love to have a landscaper, but it isn't in the budget. I actually don't mind mowing...although I'm not a big fan of weeding.

My son (and the dogs) are off to his father's house, so it's just me and the kitties. Suddenly the house gets very quiet....but the dog hair situation is crazy. With the warm weather coming the animals are all shedding, and vacuuming is a daily event. I'm really hoping the bank accepts our offer...the house has a fenced back yard so that even the kitties can go outdoors. They'll love it...and so will I :cheesy:

Hope everyone's enjoying their Saturday. It's a bummer that your date got delayed Lips, but better than getting sick. We want an update next week!

Hey Zimmy, any word from Chrisbutch? It's so hard to deal with a loss of someone you're close to. Been thinking about him and hoping he's okay. If you talk, will you let him know?

Hope Musicman is doing alright too...I know he's been busy, busy.

Freyja...I had to smile this morning...you managed to play one of Scoote's favorite songs. :)

:lips: baby...

lipstixgal 06-19-2010 05:37 PM

Ooh Cobb salad sounds wonderful but I don't have the recipe didn't know it had bacon I bet that really makes it!! Too bad you don't have the budget for a landscaper. Have you found a house in Florida yet that you like?? What are you going to do with your current house because I'm in the same situation. I want to sell but its not really a good time. I guess I'll rent and see what happens. Can't take another winter here in NJ its too cold and too much damn snow. Besides the dogs like the warm weather!! WEll have a great weekend Jo and everyone else. BTW where's the coffee avatar?? I can never find it. The date is on for next weekend I think. However she keeps telling that her road is being repaved so she has to be home before 8 PM. IDK?? Just looking forward to meeting someone new and exciting, smart and intelligent for a change..:moonstars:

I went to go and see the Karate Kid on its opening weekend and wow was it ever packed in that theatre! I absolutely love this movie and would recommend it to anyone who wants to see it; Jaden Smith is incredible, and Jackie Chan also gives a very heart warming performance ~ love love LOVE it :cheesy:

I'm sure other people will be in here later on after they get up to get some strong coffee!! Have a great day all I'm headed back to bed once the dogs settle down:blink:

freyja 06-20-2010 05:18 AM

Good morning to Sunday!

Thank you Lipstix for setting out the preliminary round of breakfast goodies :D
You're a sweetie *muah*
I've got the coffee pot on, with some medium roast Huehuetango I picked up at our Second Cup gourmet cafe. It's a really nice blend.

Sunday is my favourite morning in the kitchen cooking breakfast, so I'll add what i've whipped up:
buttermilk pancakes, with pure Canadian maple syrup, fresh sliced farm picked strawberries, French Vanilla yogurt, and orange juice.

For my fan Braedon and all the other 80's fans, who are loving the kitchen tunes, here is a little sing-a-long for today. Enjoy peeps and have a good one.

Zimmeh 06-20-2010 05:28 AM

Good Morning Jo Jo,

I am going to email hym today and see how hy is doing. I will definately let hym know that you asked about hym. I sent hym a sympathy card yesterday and it is going to take about five days to reach hym in Ireland. I have been worried about hym for awhile now and I am upset that she did pass away. Hy talked very highly of her and his uncle, who also passed away last year.

Have you tried the band aids for blisters? BandAid makes them and it is like having a second skin to protect them.

Have fun today!

Good Morning Jake,

It is a lot of fun. I found a picture of my great grandmother on my mom's side of the family yesterday. I called my mom and told her about it and I posted it on FaceBook and asked my mom who she looked like. After a few minutes of trying to figure out who in the family looked like her, she was like, it is your Aunt Linda. The picture is from 1920 when she was 16 years old. My dad who raised me from the time I was a 4 months old until his death when I was 28 years old, his family is hard to find, since most of them were born in the mountains of Alabama and Kentucky.

Have fun today!

Good Morning Good Kitchen Patrons,

Here is some more coffee and tea for everyone. I am getting a late start today... however, I was up late last eve. Yesterday, was a lazy day for Me and I decided to do nothing but read and work on My jewelry. Today will be cleaning and laundry. Of course, after I get more coffee in Me. laughs.

I hope everyone has an enjoyable day.

Oh yes, and day number 3 with the a/c blasting. I think this is a sign of things to come for the Summer.

:tea:

:bringcoffee:

:buzz cut: As a random thought.. I need one of these.

:artist: Oh and after I am done cleaning, I am going to set out My painting supplies and see if it is like riding a bike.

:bringcoffee: Good morning (barely) kitchen dwellers :)

I'm puttering around this morning....having my :coffee: and doing a little housework, laundry and such... still in pj's though :giggle:

Yes, Lips...we did find a house in Florida and have an offer in...hoping they accept it. I never managed to sell my house here, but I do have a renter for it that can't wait to move in and is flexible on their move-in date...so that will work. It's not my first choice, but at least it will cover its own costs and we can wait for a better market. I'm anxious to get down there...being apart is tough.

In the short term I'm a happy girl...I :flying: on Friday...so I'll get some :kissy: from my baby.

:lips: :stillheart: :love1:

Oh that's good that you found a house in Florida. That's what I'm going to do rent then move. How are the prices in Florida compared to the NY area cheaper?? I hope they accept your offer and you can move. I don't want to live in this area anymore too congested and to cold in the winter. I want an area that is warm all year round. Yes I'm sure you are anxious go get down there already. I just got out of my PJ's had to wash them, doing laundry and just relaxing. Need more coffee probably going to go to DD for a latte with whipped cream. Anyway, good luck to you you are a nice person and deserve the best!!

Good Afternoon Lipstix,

Where I live, my best friend and I pay $900 a month for a four bedroom, 2.5 bath house. It is gorgeous here. Every day that I go power walking with Elijah, her son, we see wild bunnies and plenty of other animals. The East Coast of Florida is nice and most of it is snowbird central, but very quiet.

Have fun today!

I have found my mom's oldest brother's family, including his three children and the majority of his wife's family, all the way back to the 1850's. Since I babysit all day until I start college, I am doing this to keep my mind going. I know that on my mom's side of the family, that I am of Irish and German descent and on my biological father's side, that I am of Dutch, French Canadian, English and Cherokee Indian descent. When my dad who raised me passed away, my three brothers and I got all of the family pics, including pictures of his paternal grandparents. My oldest brother lost them and my grandmother's Bible<my dad who raised me, his mother>, nearly was destroyed thanks to my middle brother and his girlfriend. I now have the Bible in a hatbox in my closet until I can find someone to restore it. As for my dad and grandfather's burial flags, I have no idea where those went to and I am in the process of locating them so I can hang them along with my grandfather's medals from WWII up.

Have fun today,

Zimmy

Florida is starting to sound even nicer to me, so that is the eastern part of Florida Zimmy?? I would have to rent my home here in NJ so I could move down there but I think I could get used to that. Do they have any kind of gay community of any sort??

Good evening kitchen dwellers :)

:chef: My mouth is craving old fashioned fried chicken, mashed potatoes, chicken/cream gravy, steamed asparagus and a nice green salad....mmmmm....

Dessert has got to be hot fudge cake, with some vanilla bean ice cream for those that like the hot/cold thing as well. :)

:lips: counting the hours baby :love1:

Good Evening Jo,

That food sounds amazing. I am liking the old fashioned fried chicken thing. nods. I made homemade spaghetti sauce and had some thin pasta with it. It was tasty indeed.

Yeah.. for the flying out being almost here. This Friday, yes? We should all be near the ones we love.

As Always,
Jake

Good Evening Kitchen Patrons,

I hope everyone had a peaceful end to their weekend and that this week brings great productivity and happiness.

I spent the day "deep" cleaning My place. Mopping floors and the works. Laundry is done. Then I decided to get My paint supplies out and see if it would come back to Me. I had some pretty profound revelations in regards to this. It seems that it did not come back and easily as I thought it might. However, I am also not the same person I was the last time I picked up a brush. I will keep at it this week. If anything it is a great source of meditation...which is why I set about learning it in the first place.

This past week seems to be a week of realizations for Me. All of them good. smiles.

Here is some tea and coffee for those that want and/or need it.

:tea:

YOur jewelery is beautiful I will order something once I get some money on hand. I see you have many talents, like painting, hair cutting etc. I hope you have a peaceful day today also. Could go for second cup of coffee too thanks. lipstix

lipstix.. thank you for the kind words in regards to My jewelry. I am always humbled when someone appreciates something I create. smiles. Well, I am not a hair cutter.. I was just mentioning that I am in need of one. I will leave that to the professionals. Goddess knows what I would look like if I took a set of clippers to My head. laughs.

Oh and it was humid here today. I still have the a/c running. I am scared of the next electric bill. mutters. I also like to sleep with the deck door open and My bedroom window. I am guessing that will not be happening this eve.

I hope you are over there studying.. but not too hard.. and are headed into a happy week.

Zimmy

Wow Zimmy.. .you are finding some great stuff. smiles. That is wonderful. Are you going through ancestry.com? I had thought you mentioned that in another post. That is who My Dad went through as well as ordering books and writing letters to different places. My maternal side is Italian. My maternal grandparents (both deceased) were from Sicily, Italy. My (biological) father's side is Scottish and Irish.

You are starting to give Me the bug of wanting to trace My tree now. laughs.

I hope you had a wonderful Sunday and that the start to your week is much the same.

As Always,
Jake

Good Evening Jake,

I say go for it!! I never thought about doing it until I lost my job in February and now that I am doing nothing, except getting everything ready to start college, I am. I am using Ancestry.com and BeenVerified.com to help me find my relatives that I am not sure of their birthday's. The BeenVerified.com site is how I found my brother on my biological dad's side of the family. If you are into Irish jewelry, ChrisButch sent me a link to a site over in Galway, Ireland. We exchanged Christmas presents last year and hy sent me a Gold and Emerald Claddagh necklace and I sent hym a bunch of books that pertain to hys major in college.

Hope you are having a good night!

Zimmy

I live on the East Coast of Florida. I am about 64 miles from Jacksonville and I was born in Daytona Beach. If you are looking for the Gay community here, Orlando is the closest city and they hold their Pride events in October. I am making plans with my ex roommate and a bunch of his friends to attend.

Good luck on your test tomorrow and good night,

Zimmy
