Living in Southern California. I never thought I'd end up here and I've been here for almost 30 years. I was a nomad the first 30 years of my life and I've established roots the last 30 years here in Cali. I like it. It's nice. Not sure I'll retire here, but for now I'm enjoying it.

every evening my husband goes out around 7 or 730ish pm and sits in his jeep wrangler and listens to the radio. He has a radio in his Wizards Watch (den) but he prefers to go out and watch the day end and evening just start to enter, listening to his music, news, etc. He calls it an old man thing. I just know that sometimes I can hear muffled aspects of what he is listening to and I so enjoy the simple pleasure of contentment between and around us

Apparently it is very relieving to abandon my phone sometimes. There's no need to be glued to every alert and text all the time.

I have lived in a tropical climate most of my life, and in doing so, I have become accustomed to living a rather laid-back, slow, & easy going lifestyle.
Once I had to retire, I gave up having to be "on" all the time, and as several others have commented, I sure as hell do NOT need to be "connected" all the time either!!!! In fact, I do not have my laptop on all the time & some days I do not even go online. I do keep my cell on vibrate when I nap or sleep. If anyone needs me, they can reach me during the hours of 1000am & 800pm. Period!! lol I ENJOY having a quiet, laid back space! It is suitable & conducive to me! |

Low 80's and no rain. :cheesy: Walking in a downpour to the car and tornado warnings was not a fun way to end the workday yesterday. |
In contract to dee, I am enjoying today's rain. It's going to allow me to stay home, in my jammies and not make my bed with absolutely zero guilt.

Watermelon sherbet. It's sweet but not too sweet and refreshing without being heavy.

I enjoy what I just did: Finishing reading a thriller while out on my back porch in the dark with a lantern for light, listening to the river beyond my back yard. Only thing that would have made it better would have been a small glass of wine but I'm on call so, no wine.
