Knowing that tomorrow will be my sister's last day at school. She will be at a brand new school next year so this will be her final day at this one. It's amazing how much she has grown, how far she has come and the fact that she will be in Grade 9 in the fall - such a bittersweet moment but a good one none the less :)

Satisfaction and accomplisment made me smile I get paid tomorrow! Yayy... it's been hard to adjust to a new payroll, once a month Listening to the wildlife today ...brought me much joy |

Walking out of the door from work today, to see that one of the parking lot kittens was eating happily from a big bowl of catfood.
I guess the ordeal isnt going to be as much of a fiasco as expected. The kittens are being fed and watered, and today I found where they have been hiding, there is an opening behind the flower beds that goes all the way down under the store. So they CAN get out of the heat and into a cooler, shady spot. I will continue to try to rescue them, but for now it makes me happy to know they are being cared for from afar! I also wanted to note the kindness of others amazes me. There have been several people taking turns to feed the kittens, and put water in their big bowl. The people have even taken water bottles and frozen them to stick into the water bowls so that the water stays cool in the heat of the day. Also more than a few that have tried relentlessly to catch them. Hopefully our combined efforts will make for a smooth kitten rescue! Now if only mama would come around... |

A relaxing holiday weekend with ONLY. :) An email this morning from my stepdad saying my car would be fixed by the time I return from Canada. :) He was borrowing it while I am gone and someone backed into it in a parking lot while he was inside the store. ARGH! |

The Saturday morning farmer's market. Which, have I mentioned lately, is only 2 1/2 blocks from the house. :D
Yummy fresh peaches, cantalope, blackberries, eggplant, corn on the cob, tomatoes, garlic, glutten-free homemade pasta, and green onions. All before the main crowd gets there and the unbearable heat sets in. (Mind you it was already muggy as he!! at 7:45am, but at least I wasn't dieing walking over and back.) I love where we live, it makes me :D often. |
I've gotten to know a set of neighbors pretty well since they moved in. Nice young folks - early 20's etc.
They found out my computer died and loaned me their laptop while they are out of town this weekend. Yay I can look for a new job :) Life is good.....Smiling big time. :byebye: |

getting the girl's "Barbie Car" all charged up with freon again..and adding antifreeze to the overflow.....ICE cold air..she will NOT have to go back in that baking hot sun with NO ac as she did coming down yesterday!!!

I smiled when I saw how happy my oldest daughter was with her new boyfriend today. They just got their own place (a real crap fixer upper) and they are so proud of it. I built them two new porches, replaced the doors and a couple windows, and the toilet and light fixtures. They are so excited. I can't believe she is a woman now. Crazy.
