The new kitten has been under the weather but her and the baby kitty are getting along well. They run and play together. It is both sweet and hilarious.

Dog park, got bones, had their bones taken away because they were possessive, napped, barked and ate.

Bella has commandeered my bath robe.

She decided "it was belong to her" a few weeks ago and has proceeded to suck on it, bite a couple of tiny holes in it, and bring it everywhere she goes.

She drags it with her from room to room and I've had to explain to a couple of visitors that this is her "binky". Yes, I should take it away from her so that she understands she can't just take my clothes for her personal enjoyment but having had a Golden before, I know they are super orally fixated (God, there's SUCH a joke in there).

Besides, its pretty dang cute seeing a Golden Retriever prance all over the house with a giant bathrobe as her favorite "toy".

Since you've lost it to her anyway with the holes and dragging and whatnot, why not cut it up into 4 sections plus the arms? That way, she gets to keep what 'belongs to her', it's less bulky and dangerous to get tripped up on/start fires if you have candles burning/etc and when she demolishes one piece, you have more where that came from which will save your new robe from the same fate.

I was singing a love song to the baby kitty and she was wagging her tail and giving me googly eyes when I noticed the new kitten looking around the corner to see me singing.

After our long hike the dogs emptied their water bowl twice.

Yoda was nice enough to carry the empty bowl into the living room so I'd know to refill it lol

The kitten saw my neighbor's cat through the window today. She got really excited and kept looking for her after she left. My neighbor's cat comes over every evening for a snack.

It has come to my attention that the new kitten does not get out of bed untill I open the blinds. Haha! Score one for the kitten training me to start her day.

Every one of them is harassing me because I left home for a few days and now they all want make up time on belly rubs and treats.

FireSignFemme 02-20-2017 05:41 PM

For days I'd been marveling over how well Monte has been behaving when I work on craft projects - just the perfect well mannered house cat. But today? Oh today he decided now would be a fine time to release his inner Michelangelo and "help" with the crafting by walking on top of and pouncing all over everything. I had to watch him like a hawk and police him even worse. I was just about ready to stick him in time out but when I went to catch and confine him I found him the picture off innocence sleeping like a baby on the bed that Santa brought him for Christmas. It was a Hallmark moment. Well so long as you focused on the cat in his bed not the kitchen and the living room which,on account of my crafting, are now trashed.

Rip Confetti

She's not really mine. She's my girls cat. But I was her 2nd Daddi . Confetti. She was Special. She waited for my convulsions to end. And made sure I woke with love and kisses and paw on my face. And kitty kisses to follow. I called her Chubs. Because she was a Calico kitty with attitude. Within 3weeks of her 12 years of life. To which 2 -1/2 years spent in mine. She passed. Taking with her. My life. Short yet glorious. She had a way of conveying her concerns. Yet keeping her kitty pride of independently saying Hey. I got my limits. I love But.... I love you Confetti. I miss you dearly. Your paws are engraved I'm my heart. Rest In Peace. Dear Joy of my heart.

Last week the kitten had a cold and this week the baby kitty has the cold.

This does not affect play time. Haha!

This morning the new kitten met her first scorpion and I am glad that I was here to run interference.

Close call!

Blade 02-28-2017 07:42 PM

While drawing up sweet feed for the goats, I had let my boy and his sister run the yard. All of a sudden I heard him shrieking and squealing as he came running past me, with the rooster hot on his tail. Every hair from the top of his head to his tail was standing straight up. I don't know if he was being to friendly with a hen or if the rooster was just protecting his girls. At any rate this boy was not sticking around nor standing his ground. I laughed soooo hard at him, thought I'd need my inhaler

girl_dee 02-28-2017 07:43 PM

she made me feel really bad for leaving her right after I got home from work!

I am so proud of the new kitten she did not harass the repairman today. My older kitty used to try and help the repairman. Good kitten!

In other news the kitten is running through the house with the speed of light.

Blade 03-04-2017 07:25 PM

I let the chickens out when I got home.
Twister (cat) followed me down there. One of the big hens saw Twister as she came out of the pen. The hen took out after the cat, chasing her across the yard, between the house and the kennel, past the front porch and down into the back yard. As the hen gained ground Twister ran faster as did the hen. I got so tickled at them.

Soft*Silver 03-04-2017 09:45 PM

both my very old newfoundland, and my 1 year old english shepard/maremma girl got professionally groomed today. They look and smell great! The old guy has a lifetime of getting groomed so he was very good, but it took some convincing before the young one would let them use the hair dryer on her. LOL

Both of the kitties have recovered from their colds. Now they are just a black and white streak running through the house.

He broke my heart and he took pieces of it and my soul with him. But for all he was going through, I could see his love for me and his eyes spoke the words he could never say.

The puppy walker surprised me and gave my girl a bath.

My cats and dog are laying around with their tongues hanging out...it has gone from the high 50's to the mid-eighties in a couple of days, and they still have their winter coats!

Poor babies

Soft*Silver 03-08-2017 09:22 PM

omg....my Moon Baby puppy keeps bringing in branches that they wind has blown off the trees. She chews on them instead of the toys I give her! Shards of bark and split limbs are gutted all over my carpeting! LOL

The baby kitty did not like the time change and refused to get out of bed this morning.

The kitten got up with me to play and get her breakfast.

The dog man played in the snow a little and then tucked his old body back in my bed. Old lady cat had her special breakfast in her special place that's all hers and went back to sleep. The youngster cats are running around wrestling.

Soft*Silver 03-18-2017 11:00 AM

Old Man Bourbon, the newfoundland, struggles to climb stairs nowadays, but lately, he has been coming upstairs each night to sleep in my room. I try to get him to come up when I go up, so I can help him and he wont budge. He waits until the house is all quiet and dark, and then I hear the old body slowly, painfully, climb each step, with labored breathing. He meets me at the door of the upstairs living area, (I climb out of bed to get to him) and I bend down and wrap my arms around his furry neck and love on him. I dont understand why he waits...or why he even climbs...when its obviously so hard for him to do. But I feel the love and give him love back...

He cannot lay on the bed...I have tried to lift him up and he refuses to stay.I worry about him jumping down as his bones are so fragile now. So he lays next to me on the floor. Moon Baby dog sleeps on the bed and is insanely jealous of him..she tries to get between us when he comes to me for pets. I refuse to allow her to do so. She gets LOTS of attention from me so she must wait when he requests it.

He is 12, almost 13. Newfs usually live about 10 years. My longest term one was 14 when she passed. We are heading closer to the end than I want. He is in good health for his age, other than his body having arthritis and congestive heart. So as long as he wants to climb the stairs, I will be waiting for him...

The kitten loves to play with the neighbor's cat through the window she gets super excited and coos. This morning at 5:30 am I heard her cooing but on inspection I discovered that she mistook a racoon for the neighbor kitty. 😀 Haha!

How funny! Glad it wasn't a skunk.

My dog splashed and played in the early morning mud puddles in the back yard. The cats stretched and yawned and ate treats and had belly rubs.
