the dog I was trying to get pulled from a kill shelter in Az did get pulled, is on her way to Denver to her foster home. She is a lovely Newfoundland/pyr mix and her life was saved at the last minute! So many attempts were made across the nation to save this dog that literally had hours to live. Our own Cody was willing to drive to go get her (he lives twenty minutes from that shelter) but the people I had lined up were squabbling, so we had to drop our chance and go to the next group of people. Eventually one group made it.
yes, there are people out there, who do this. We sit together, on computers, on a list, and field announcements about newfoundlands and newf mixes that end up in kill shelters. Give Cody a pat on the back...out of the kindness of his heart, he was willing to drop everything and go get this dog on a moment's notice. What a great guy! |

Ran into my next~door neighbor on the way to the mailbox a little bit ago......
She and her husband are divorcing......he's leaving her for a younger woman it seems. :| My heart is sad for all of them, but most especially for her and their 3 children (2 in elem. school, the oldest in middle school). |
Someday I will understand the concept of "fat free" half and half. All it means is it is a wee bit thicker than skim milk, has a hideous aftertaste, and more chemicals than the Dow Corporation. This might be a good place to say....dont f*&# with my coffee. |

I think Judy and I are going to snuggle up on the sofa tonight and watch a movie or two! Last night Frankie scared the shit out of both of us when she got past the puppy gate and was carrying Judy around by the back of her shirt!
Thank goodness she did not puncture Judy, causing deflation to occur...I might have gotten lonely this weekend!! :blink: :sock: |
