I made a vegetarian chili. I replaced the ground beef with ground soy seasoned and browned, then I threw in my veggies and extra spices and let it simmer. I put it into a bread bowl and topped it with light cheese . There is nothing better than edible dishes!

Corkey 01-27-2013 08:33 PM

Salsa, I have a bug to burn out....
At dinner we had pumpkin leek and squash soup with pistachio garnish, beer butt chicken , broccoli, and rosemary oil rubbed n roasted spuds. A tortilla pear sugar desert. Dad can cook:mohawk:

Gemme 01-28-2013 06:10 PM

Shrimp cocktail.

Soon 01-28-2013 06:17 PM

i'm so excited! (food does this)

I ordered Italian last night--ate the gnocci in vodka sauce, BUT I still have a thin crust ham, mushroom, garlic, chili pepper pizza left!

Rockinonahigh 01-28-2013 06:25 PM

It's 70* today so I fixed a summer time meal, bbq hot wings with potato salad and garlic bread for my son,I had a bit of tater salad and some fresh fruit to go with the wings.

TheMerryFairy 01-28-2013 06:28 PM

I don't know what I'm having tonight, but my lunch was a little bit everything. I had a milk shake, water, one stuffed grape leaf, a shwarma platter, a cheeseburger and I picked up chocolate for my afternoon. I don't know why I ever thought all of those things together would be a good idea. In my defense, I didn't expect to get lebanese AND Dq. That just sort of happened, thanks to a friend.

KCBUTCH 01-28-2013 06:41 PM

Just got home from the grocery and got some fresh fixins for some homemade Guacamole and chips...and maybe some chedderwurst.

Princess 01-28-2013 06:42 PM

FYI-when craving foods with vinegar (sauerkraut) it is an indication the body is low in potassium....

MarquisdeShey 01-28-2013 07:39 PM

Pho Noodle soup with beef. Lots of basil, lemon and hot peppers.

deb_U_taunt 01-28-2013 07:40 PM

Last night I took my girl for Lebanese, she loved it... yay!! She hasn't been a fan of all the restaurants I take her too. She says none of them have cutlery, not completely true. She was happy to have a fork last night, even though she ate most of her shwarma plate with her pita.

Tonight I made a baked cannelloni. Filled with spinach and feta and baked in leftover sauce (from the other night) and smothered in mozzarella. I served it with salad and homemade garlic bread. I love pasta in the winter.

I had lebanese for lunch and yet I'm still drooling when I see "schwarma" written.

Your cannelloni sounds wonderful!

I am not feeling well. If this continues, I will be having soup and crackers. If I am feeling better I will make something to go with plain steamed rice and veggies.

I got subway for lunch & didn't make it beyond the second bite.

Lazy Daze 01-29-2013 11:34 AM

It depends on which wine I have in the pantry! Lol

Chicken marsala over spaghetti

Or

White wine chicken and veggies

ahk 01-29-2013 06:34 PM

beef stew: beef chunks, multi-coloured carrots, potato, thyme, garlic, onion, tomato w/ rosemary sourdough toast.

I made a fairly disgusting dinner tonight. I did manage to eat it but it certainly wasn't a magical find.

I made a salad, and I use that word loosely, with mushrooms, horseradish (from a jar), dijon mustard, vinegar, garlic powder, organic facon bits (soy protein "bacon bits") and hearts of palm. The lettuce I had had gone bad, so I didn't even get to have lettuce in it :(. And the worst part? There are leftovers. And the even worser worst part? I saved them.

I agree..... Yum!

RockOn 01-29-2013 09:12 PM

Nuked 3 eggrolls - the type that come out of the cardboard box from the freezer ... they weren't too interesting but I am full enough and that was the purpose anyway. Drank a Coke with them.

weatherboi 01-29-2013 09:19 PM

Fresh shrimp and grilled pork spring rolls.

Mtn 01-29-2013 09:23 PM

I had a bunch of mushrooms to use up, so I simmered chicken thighs, took them out of the broth, added all the mushrooms and brown rice. Cleaned the chicken, and now it's just yum!

nuked until melted YUM

dixie 01-29-2013 10:19 PM

I burned close to 600 calories on the treadmill today, so I splurged on a Boca burger, 2 waffle fries (stolen off the kiddo's plate), a handful of dill pickle chips, and one Keebler mint creme cookie...hehehe

Chancie 01-30-2013 05:41 AM

I'm marinating chicken in the fridge and we'll have it with butternut squash tonight. I might add some spinach, and I defrosted some Thanksgiving cranberry sauce for Pete.
