Those sweet texts and the personal message on my front page from my girl. :) Not sure what I did to be rewarded so kindly by Karma herself but there is always always room for gratitude!! :)

The quiet stillness of my morning run. So quiet all I could hear was the sound of my breathing, and my sneakers slapping the pavement. A peaceful rhythm, alone with my thoughts.

Discovering a new ally, my new doctor who sees me and embraces who I am, and wants to be there for me, as I begin my next phase of transition. The funny thing is that I made the appointment because my hearing has diminished.

I forget who it was, sorry, and I forget exactly which thread it was, but today I saw a recent post that was a link to a website called Dog Shaming. It made me laugh out loud, smile, chuckle, squeal, and sort of bounce a little in my chair. Dogs are featured with handmade signs around their necks or beside them that say things like, "I eat cat shit every day," or "I literally chased the postman down the street today. I am a giant cliche."

I guess you had to be there.

Here's something that made me smile yesterday. I hope I will not be punished, even in a loving way, for posting it (sheesh I am in a weird mood but happy)

Okay here it is. Yesterday, I got to pet an old pit bull on the sidewalk. She was black with a greying muzzle. I patted her hard, muscular, beefy sides and she wiggled with happiness and then dropped to the ground and rolled on her back and I dropped to the ground too, squatting there in my skirt and heels so I could have good leverage to really rub her scruffy old belly. She twisted and kicked with joy and gave me a big toothy grin and her tongue lolled out of the side of her mouth, and she kept her eyes on me, every second.

I was definitely smiling. How can you not smile back, when a dog gives you that happy grin. "She really likes you," said the two old people who owned her and were sitting on a bench outside the toney deli where I got my salad. I felt all rejuvenated, like I'd had a shot of ginseng or something. And when I looked back, she was wistfully following me with her eyes, and the two old people were still laughing.

Meeting my girl for dinner, a quick cuddle and a few nice kisses before she goes to work....sigh but :-)

Sweet, sweet words and kindness. Love.

Spending time with Amanda and my fellow graduate students. We had a blast at dinner.

Getting that sweet sleepy 2something in the morning phone call from my girl when she woke up and realized I only sent a text and nothing more when I got in from work last night. I just didn't want to disturb her slumber, she has a very busy weekend ahead of her. She's gonna need that rested body. *smirk* ;)

Am in an unholy amount of pain this morning but the thought of finally being home for the weekend really takes the edge off...just to be held firmly in Clay's strong arms; to spend time together on OUR Island with no stress is the best medicine of all...that makes me smile...:hk2:

I'm in the elevator this morning and two ladies and a guy get on. One of the ladies says to the other, What have you got planned for the weekend? and the other lady shrugs and says, Getting my tires rotated, and the man suddenly wakes up and says, Whoa, good times!, and I say, You're a wild woman! and we all have a good laugh.

so two young females come walking into my shop just now...

the sassy lil blonde one wants a homecoming dress. We talk and I hook her up with my non profit, the Diva Donations. I sit on their board and my shop is their drop off point. Many of their dresses sit on my balcony. The lil blonde is hysterically happy. I ask the long haired masculine dressed other female if she needs something for homecoming. She snorts. I tell her I have some nice men's suits that have come in and that the DDs did get in some tuxes that would fit her.

They both blink at me. hahaha. Femme Invisibility at its best. Ageism too. They didnt expect this older woman to catch on that they are a butch femme couple. Hahaha...gotcha!

I love high schoolers....
