Ebon saw this and said he hated it.

But he's been known to fall asleep during really good movies, so I would take that with a grain of salt.

:)

We saw One Day today and I cried.

It's fantastic and raw and lovely all at the same time.

The Debt on DVD. I think it was one of the underrated films of 2011. And I may have a little crush on Jessica Chastain.

Midnight in Paris

Kathy Bates, Adrien Brody, Carla Bruni, Rachel McAdams, Owen Wilson

I am not a Woody Allen enthusiast but this movie was very entertaining. Only Allen could figure out how to weave a story of a modern man's search for direction in his life using the help of his heroes of the past including Hemingway, Fitzgerald, Stein, Cole Porter, Picasso, Dali, Ray, Bunuel, Toulouse-Lautrec, Gauguin, Degas. Kathy Bates played a perfect Gertrude Stein.

And, he spun more than one memorable line. My favorite was calling the tea party republicans - "crypto-fascist airhead zombies".

Definately will have to watch this one a few more times to appreciate all the imagery and symbolism it contains.

If you like Jessica Chastain, you have to watch her in the movie, "Jolene". What a journey she takes you on.

I loved this movie beginning to end. Woody Allen makes every city look gorgeous and I wanted to book a trip to Paris after I watched this movie. Great little movie.

"Butch Jamie" Awful movie, deeply disliked the protagonist, disliked the message it sent, badly acted, just ugh what a waste of time

Soft*Silver 01-04-2012 06:36 AM

Kill The Irishman, on Netflix....

damn good movie about my area in the 70s and the mafia

Daktari 01-04-2012 07:34 AM

The Borrowers (a remake of a kids story shown on tv on Christmas Day)

I loved it, our Stately Homo Stephen Fry was cast as 'the baddie'. Victoria Wood cast as granny. Christopher Eccleston as father Borrower. A fab cast.

Recently seen in the Schmooze/Abi household

Highly Enjoyed

Having not read the books - I was somewhat bored :| Jo and the Kidlette loved it...

Sci Fi enthusiast, I enjoyed the premise and the special effects, I believe Jo struggled to stay awake during this - poorly acted not one I'd see again and I tend to watch good sci fi several times.

Loved the former and had a good laugh at the latter.

Strangers In Good Company
This Canadian film is the delightful story about a group of remarkable women travelers who, when stranded, turn their escapade into a truly magical time of humor and adventure.
