What made me smile today?
The "text-to-speech" function on my cell phone.
I text dirty texts to myself just so I can hear the cyber voice say naughty words out loud to me. This is my newest form of entertainment. |
Knowing that she'll get to go play Keno very very soon.
Actually feeling like I'm on the right track for the first time in quite a while after hearing nothing but professionalism (not just talk but seeing it). Having actual drivers just start sharing tips and pros and cons of certain things out of the blue with newbies out by the smoke shack. Yep, I think I might've made the right choice finally. Lol. My phone sounds like a laser gun shooting when I get a message or text. As I was leaving work today I turned on my phone and it sounded like someone was shooting at me all the way to the parking lot. I thought good grief what on earth is so important. I read my texts and listened to my voice mails. I stayed in the parking lot for an hour reading and returning texts. Mostly happy birthday wishes from family and friends.
But I have to tell you the one that made me smile the biggest was a video happy birthday wish from "Lil Spirit".....yeah she has my heart, and can make fast mush of this ole man. |

Ran away to the Grand Mesa today, drove all the way over it and headed up to Ridgeway State Park to visit my folks who are up there camping... Mimi's laughter... I so love that little girl! |

The confidence I gained from driving today. Yea it wasn't perfect but for the first time I've got folks letting me know that's okay. I'm new so of course I'm not gonna be perfect. Damn it's a good feeling to finally have realistic expectations to strive for instead of unrealistic ones.

My Unkles....it has been a year since I have seen them one for the first time. They have all been there for me in one way or another. I love all of you.
Unkle Tommi....I don't even have words that describe what you mean to me. Asking you to walk me down the isle when DamonK and I get married is the biggest honor I can bestow on someone who has truly been that father/Unkle/brother role model that was missing in my life. Unkle Bard... You are a close second to my Unkle Tommi....and that's only because I met him first. Lol Unkle Jo.... I met you last but you are no less a wonderful Unkle! What can I say. You look out for DamonK in such a wonderful way and I know he appreciates it. I'm very honored to have my CHOSEN family of Unkles be such wonderful people. Ok enough gushyness I need sleep. |

although the memory box that my dad's obituary opened today had some negative feelings ... I smiled at memories of my nieces and events/ people that have touched my life over the past years since his passing.

Making me smile... Sitting here drinking my wonderful coffee and watching the local news report the morning traffic. There is a big jam up and I think to myself, I'm goin no where near there. It's not even in my direction. I'm thinking of the route I take. I leave 10 min earlier just to enjoy it. I've found a back country road , tree lined, horses, and sometimes, deer, the old stone homes, and the volunteer fire dept. Starts my day off, stress free and makes me see the little things most people miss. |
