NEW FLASH............

:badscore:

I got a call from my child. They are in New Orleans right now, in the French Quarter...they're going to spend the night there but then drive to Dallas to see her father (don't get me started...this was a last minute decision on her part)....

Soooooooooooooooooo...........I have to move the dinner to Wednesday and I have sent a text to the ones who said they could make it (or couldn't because it was Tuesday)......

So now...

WEDNESDAY, May 12th
Fuddrucker's on S. Lamar & Hwy. 71/360
6:30 PM

Hope to see You there!

Sounds like fun! As far as I know, we don't have any plans for June 4th; I think we have something to do on the 5th but it's always great to meet folks who come to visit! We will keep you posted but as far as I know, we are a go!

Sadly, I will miss this unless I can switch with a co-worker for that night. I'll try. Love Threadgill's and would love to meet y'all.

I may not be there depends on what the family has planned for my brother that is the day of his birth!

New shift was only for three weeks. I found out at the beginning of this week. POUT. So I'm back to evenings for now.

Nice to see folks today at Eshe's b'day party. Glad the weather held. That drive up and back was gorgeous. Only about 15 miles from my place but it seemed like it was so far away from everything. Very nice!

Sorry that there was no pie. KC meant to make a pumpkin cheesecake but ran into some timing issues.

I totally want to play that beanbag/washer game again. Fun stuff!

the theme is DRAMA. you know?
think theater camp, think stanislav, think DIVA, think intrigue, rumor mill, menage trois, long talks in parking lots, under the table handjobs, thesssspians, broken bottles, broadway! remember monologues from speech and debate, remember shakespeare, remember judith gold, remember personality disorders and showgirls! im trying to say, double entendre.

emote on us for up to ten minutes in any manner you can imagine!!!! we want to hear the wanton verses and true entertaining that might speak of DRAMA in your gay life!
mostly all manner of performance and spectacle are EXTREMELY ENCOURAGED. take the mic with us for one last time!

campcamp

ps: are you looking for a room in a gay household? do you know of this one? its considered a portal of queer activity in this town!! a breeding ground for rich smells and exuberant personalities and sexual dripping down the walls. everyone passes through it, for better or worse, and there is one room available on june 1 for sublet or maybe long term... and its cheap! contact jake or jessie mae at 391 6299

CampCamp! was Austin's monthly queer open performance night from 2005-2008. We now do occasional queer festivities around town.

So, when is the best time of year to visit Austin? I'm thinking that I want to scope out some possible areas that I can retire in (well, I am already retired, buit can't leave here for another year). Need a dry climate, however, for these ancient arthritic joints. But, I must be somewhere that a queer community exists. And the cost of living fits for a retired person's budget! What is the average cost of homes in Austin?

And would I have to develop a drawal?

It depends on how heat-tolerant you are. This part of Texas is a damp heat and it doesn't cool off that much at night in the summer. Summer lasts from the beginning of May to maybe mid-October. I definitely don't consider it a "dry climate" - if we're talking humidity. The sun is out plenty though.

So I think the best time would be anywhere between Halloween and May Day unless you don't mind a nice film of sweat or if you're generally cool-natured.

I was born there and have spent the majority of my life there (I'm about an hour away at the moment), and I don't have a severe drawl. When I lived in California, people would say, "If you're from Texas, why don't you have a drawl?" But I know I used to have one and I suspect I still do if I'm talking to somebody with one. Anyway, drawl not needed. Austin has a LOT of imports anyway

Snort. I don't play that game with KC. I told him I was leaving three times. The final time was "I'm leaving as soon as I get dressed. If you are going, meet me at the car."

He was up. Amazing. He said that he and Parker had a good time going out the night before.
