Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows.

Much better film than the first one. More polished. More gritty. Deeper...

Edge of the seat stuff!

Something random off of Showtime with Demi Moore and David Duchovny titled "The Joneses" ... it was supposed to be a satire. I think they tried to be poignant and fell flat. I wouldn't recommend it. My thoughts at the end of the film... "I should've just re-watched Princess Bride." *laughs*

"The Secret Life of Bees". Intense & very good.

Finally saw Hugo on Monday. Very cute, loved the old (and fake old) film clips.

The House of D

David Duchovny, Robin Williams, Tea Leone, Frank Langella

An American artist living a bohemian existence in Paris is trying to make sense of his troubled adult life by reflecting upon his extraordinary childhood in Greenwich Village in 1973. When an unexpected tragedy radically alters his world, he must take a life-defining choice – one that will compel him as an adult to confront his unfinished past.

Loved this movie. Excellent cast. Smart dialogue. Lots of humor. Good music.

Hachi : A Dog's Tale

4th time, and it still brings a knot to my fuggin' throat ...

Made me think of my own fur companions that have been loyal till their last breath.
It's inspired by a true occurrence in Japan.
Yes, it's a Richard Gere film, ignore that part.
It was a lovely Film, but, I highly recommend kleenex (I may have had a knot, but at the time, the person next to me was a blubbering mess when the credits rolled..)

The Love Letter

Kate Capshaw, Ellen DeGeneres, Tom Selleck, Blythe Danner

Ok, it is from 1999 but it is one of my must see once a year movies. Plus, I think Kate Capshaw and Blythe Danner are two very incredible women.

Is a romantic comedy revolving around trying to find out who wrote a love letter and who was the intended receipient. The truth is a surprise and the journey to it, is very cute.

Based on the novel by Cathleen Schine.

Need some help here...

Some time ago, perhaps six or seven years, I watched a French film about a man and a woman who would meet up weekly at a hotel to indulge their sexual appetites. I know this sounds like pretty much most French foreign films. However, these two shared an interest in sexual behaviors that were alluded to be out of the norm, and of which is never known to the viewer.

They found one another through some sort of fetish newspaper or letter, would meet in a cafe for coffee, head to the hotel, and enter the hotel room. We are never privy to any activity inside the room. We are left at the hotel room door to wonder what it is they share.

They fall in love with one another but never tell each other as each one is certain the other could not possibly feel the same. Eventually the love they feel for one another, and never confess, splits them apart.

If anyone knows of this movie, and can tell me the title of the film, please let me know. I just can't remember and would like to watch it again.

Thanks!

New Year's Eve...Sucky gratuitous ripoff of Love Actually.
Mission Impossible 4...Relies on a lot of special effects to make up for a weak plot.
The Man on the Train...Surprisingly good movie. How can you not like Donald Sutherland?
In Time...Meh.
The Innkeepers...Liked it, despite a lack of major stars.
Our Idiot Brother...not bad.

About to watch Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy.

I :stillheart: him. He's a handsome man and I love his accent.

Now, I want to see that movie. Here's the trailer for those who haven't had the pleasure of laying eyes on Mr. Statham.
