My guess is that you'll love it. 'Corned beef hash' from a can is nothing like real food.

Actually, real corned beef hash can me really good too.

I've made:

A large pot of Irish steel cut oats with lots of spices (my secret ingredient is Jamaican All Spice, which takes the oats from bland to zingy), and then portioned them off into mason jars with layers of blueberries and blackberries. Et voila - breakfast for the next week, grab and go.

A big spinach salad with tomato, cuke, and almonds.

A pot of risotto with prosciutto.

A package of chicken breast baked in a homemade olive oil, garlic, dry red pepper & italian spices marinade.

I now have multiple ingredients that can be thrown together with very little effort, in a multitude of ways, and taken as relatively healthy meals on the run.

That's the way to do it. I make larger portions ahead on purpose. Some people call them leftovers, I call them yummy.

ManOMan 03-17-2013 08:43 PM

I had Pho.

Now I'm trying to decide if I'm up to going to the store to buy sugar free ice cream... This is a tough one...

Lazy Daze 03-18-2013 06:47 AM

I made homemade spaghetti sauce yesterday so it has time to sit and blend together, it will be paired with homemade meatballs tonight...

So...spaghetti and meatballs with garlic bread :)

I have been wanting good Falafel recently, I am happy you got to indulge :)

TheMerryFairy 03-18-2013 04:04 PM

I am going to have leftover beef and vegetable stew with an irish bannock bread for drunking. I just got the recipe from a friend :) I did type "drunking" intentionally a term that the same friend used to describe the usual outcome for biscuits or bread being dunked into stew - "intending to dunk but have the bread fall apart and smothered in the gravy"

MsM 03-18-2013 04:09 PM

I'm trying to decide between something frozen, or going out to eat. I know I should choose the first option, being lower in fat and 'better' for me.

But man some Chuy's sounds good, but then when doesn't it.

Heavenleahangel 03-18-2013 04:11 PM
