I slept well but woke up with a kinky neck, and not the fun kind.
|
Tired with a bit of a headache. Didn't sleep well. Thinking about an old work buddy whose wife passed away over the holidays. He and I are meeting for lunch today. He's been on my mind all week.
|
Headache free!! Wahoo!!
|
Happy and peaceful...and I will be even moreso in a few hours.
|
Tired and eyes are starting to hurt. Didn’t sleep well. Will try to get lots of sleep tonight.

F*cking angry, sad, and angry again.
Shocked, saddened, and angry as well that my fellow soldiers both female and male have experienced devastating illnesses throughout their lives because we lived in a toxic dump/experimental site during our basic training and/or AIT at Fort McClellan, Alabama. I do not use fb, but thankfully there are fb groups where Fort McClellan soldiers are banning together to work at passing legislation so that those ill because of their time in that toxic environment can receive medical benefits. I still will not use fb, but have found another way to support my fellow soldiers. Do check out the link of the website that is one way one of our female soldier is addressing and supporting us.
And, in case your wondering...No, I know I am beyond blessed to continue being healthy...and am more grateful than words can say. Found out about this today and am sharing with all of you Vets, and lovers of Vets past and present who completed basic training and/or AIT at Fort McClellan, Alabama WAC, US Army no matter the year. https://fmvets.org "THE STORIES & PORTRAITS OF U.S. VETERANS EXPERIENCING A RANGE OF DEBILITATING & LIFE THREATENING HEALTH ISSUES THAT THEY BELIEVE ARE CONNECTED TO NUCLEAR, BIOLOGICAL AND CHEMICAL HAZARDS THEY WERE EXPOSED TO WHILE STATIONED AT FORT MCCLELLAN - A U.S. ARMY INSTALLATION IN NORTHEASTERN ALABAMA CLOSED IN 1999. THEIR EXPOSURES HAVE NOT BEEN ACKNOWLEDGED BY THE DEPARTMENT OF DEFENSE OR THE VETERANS ADMINISTRATION. READ & LISTEN TO THEIR STORIES..." Pass this on your social media as well, thank you. I feel like I want to crawl back under the covers again. It was SOOO deliciously warm with the new to me duvet and my freshly washed comforter. I didn't even need socks last night.
I'm also feeling like I don't want to go out in the 11 degree cold but am very grateful that the storm is going to cross south of us and so the weekend, while cold, should be dry. |
A little tired but good. Half day at work today so I can go to the soc sec office and not feel rushed. May have to work half day tomorrow morning but that's cool.
Glad it's friday! :poc-cool: |
Good today, but yesterday I was worried I might of been buying the farm..:|

Hey Greco
Greco, thanks for your post about Ft McClellan ... I did my basic training there and then stayed for my other training too after that. I will read about it later this evening when I get settled. The only things I liked about basic training was the wonderful all you can eat at every meal food. The cooks had it going on!! And throwing live grenades, shooting m-60s, m-16s ... scored top on all that. When we did m-60 night fire on our bellies at distant tanks, the boo-lits were rigged ... you could see them, watch them go hundreds of yards ... so cool! Enough of my memory lane.:)
I have had a darn good week. Feeling pretty good tonight. Been in training and my favorite instructor taught the class. He is about the most kind hearted person I have ever met .... known him for probably a decade. We fly him in from extreme NorthEast. He is head of Electrical and Computer Science Divisions at an impressive college there. In his electrical engineering classes, they get to design their own computer chips. Once my friend the instructor looks over everone's chip design to ensure it will work, the designs are sent off to be built. I find that immensely interesting! I told him he hurt my feelings because I had asked him 3 times to send me photos of his wife's chickens. We laughed and laughed. I think I will receive photos soon. His wife is a dear too. She came with him one time and we all went out to dinner. Good people! The world could sure benefit for a lot more like them. |
Keeping My head focused on what is to come. Feeling: Hopeful.

I feel tired. Bed is calling me.

Hey Friend, I know it can be a difficult thing to do but perhaps you could try and fit in more time to sleep and or rest. You seem to be tired a lot lately.
I know when I get run down from lack of sleep over a long period of time and it is cold outside, I usually get really sick with the flu. Not trying to run your business, only concerned. *smiles and waves* :) |

See, that's what you get for giving out your digits....:giggle: |
I feel pretty good. I slept well last night, that was the first in a while. I've been on a very clean vegan diet all week and that feels good. I've tackled a lot of house work today and it shows and that feels good. Happy Saturday!
