Going to pick up local blueberries from the sweetest, generous, gentle natured retired couple who delighted me with their stories and how they treated me as if they'd known me forever ...such a welcoming, warm couple

love their blueberries and he surprised me with a whole gallon of fresh pink eyed peas right from his garden...good people

A trip to an old fashioned bakery

chatting with my best friend and making plans

Logging out of the phones at the end of the day....Ahhhh...

Joy

Hearing two of my best friends talk about how happy I look.

Walking among ginormous redwoods hand in hand with gaea and our doggies.

Watching gaea sing along to Melissa Etheridge's song " Mercy" to me while driving up the 101....(her eyes)

Late nite Enchiladas, Coronas, and flan before finally heading home to bed

Bed

Her in my bed

A tiny, starving, brown, bat, who is on the endangered species list here in Indiana, is now gorging itself on that moist cat food that looks like worms. It was almost dead, could'nt fly, and I did'nt know what else to feed it until I can get more help. It seems happier now though :)

I called at 4pm (an hour before they close), they said they are just so busy during the summer, that the mechanic had just gotten to my car at 4pm to run diagnostics, and that they may have an answer in the morning. !#(@#@)@!!!!!

So...after posting this in the "pissed off thread" last week, today, I went to my regular mechanic, for the things that these jerks missed on their "bumper to bumper check"...I still had a wheel hub that needed replacing (some of the bearings were literally broken, and this problem could have caused an accident), an oil sensor that was bad, and I needed an oil change.

The price (another $400+, after just having spent $500+) did not bring me joy, but I know these guys earn it, and charge minimal labor fees. What did bring me joy, is that I popped in without an appointment, asked them to take a look, they took a look, gave me an estimate, gave water and pets to my dog, and completed the work within 2 hours. I will never go to the "other guys" again. Ever.

I'm glad I popped in. These repairs mean that I will have a safe trip up to Timothy Lake this weekend (a 3000+ elevation gain), and a safe trip over to Astoria next week.

An old high school best friend whom I have not talked to in about 38 years surfaced today....we had a nice talk. Hope to pick up an old friendship.

seeing how happy the kiddo was to go back to girl scouts and her church group (church is not my bag but she loves it so i encourage it). she insisted that we remember her vest and tote bag next time. "i know i won't need them today...but we CAN'T forget them next time, mommy."

Being paid a very high compliment by a new friend...
"You have a way of putting loving life into words."

Think they made me swooon on that one too...but it brought me joy to be recognized and appreciated.

Spent a really awesome beautiful day with my best best friend and seeing her on the mend...enjoying dinner at a favorite diner I haven't been to in years. Hearing herlaughing and enjoying herself after a long few weeks ...

talking to my best "peanut butter " friend and laughing with them when I told them the silly things I did today ...them telling me how good my pup has been since I've been away ...

Talking to on friend about camping in the mountains and another friend about fishing at the coast...

a REALLY BEAUTIFUL DAY!!! Filled with really awesome friends.

What brought you joy today?

Waking up from my nap without pain, but instead having two little dogs and my big kittyboy all snuggled up with me, and laying there watching the wife watching the rain out the window. Usually kittyboy leaps off the bed and does his kitty stuff when I wake up but this time he just laid around purring while the wife told me how long it had been raining.

cinnamongrrl 08-15-2013 06:26 AM

The beauty of the day.... :)

Bèsame* 08-15-2013 07:13 AM

anticipation of rain...waiting for the prelude of afternoon showers, the smell...ahhhh, such joy!

Yesterday I took my client to the "library" in her assisted living facility. A lot of the books are donated. It's a give a book, take a book type deal.

WELL...

While perusing alongside my lady, I found a book I have been coveting :| The activity director was there and told me to feel free to take one. So I promised to donate some books in exchange. :)

Yay!!! Free books...bliss and glee....

Driving home from a friends house last night after midnight I drove over the bridge and into a bank of fog... The sight of all that fog and the lights shining through it on the deserted roads.... what joy, what joy indeed!
