“Go after her. Fuck, don’t sit there and wait for her to call, go after her because that’s what you should do if you love someone, don’t wait for them to give you a sign cause it might never come, don’t let people happen to you, don’t let me happen to you, or her, she’s not a fucking television show or tornado. There are people I might have loved had they gotten on the airplane or run down the street after me or called me up drunk at four in the morning because they need to tell me right now and because they cannot regret this and I always thought I’d be the only one doing crazy things for people who would never give enough of a fuck to do it back or to act like idiots or be entirely vulnerable and honest and making someone fall in love with you is easy and flying 3000 miles on four days notice because you can’t just sit there and do nothing and breathe into telephones is not everyone’s idea of love but it is the way I can recognize it because that is what I do. Go scream it and be with her in meaningful ways because that is beautiful and that is generous and that is what loving someone is, that is raw and that is unguarded, and that is all that is worth anything, really.”

“Dad always warned that it was misleading when one imagined people, when one saw them in the Mind's Eye, because one never remembered them as they really were, with as many inconsistencies as there were hairs on a human head (100,000 to 200,000). Instead, the mind used a lazy shorthand, smoothed the person over into their most dominating characteristic- their pessimism or insecurity (something really being lazy, turning them into either Nice or Mean)-and one made the mistake of judging them from this basis alone and risked, on a subsequent encounter, being dangerously surprised.”

The way to happiness – keep your heart free from hate, your mind free from worry, live simply, expect little, give much. - Carol Borges
|
“People tend to think that happiness is a stroke of luck, something that will descend like fine weather if you're fortunate. But happiness is the result of personal effort. You fight for it, strive for it, insist upon it, and sometimes even travel around the world looking for it. You have to participate relentlessly.”
~ Elizabeth Gilbert |
"Everything happens for a reason. Have hope you say , believe , faith can move mountians. Good things come to those who wait. Well good things come to those who don't wait too! And I am tired of waiting, I'm tired of hoping. When is it my turn? When ? " -Vera Wood Files
“[She] was a remarkable looking woman. Remarkable in that she wasn’t what most people would call beautiful. But she oozed a raw femaleness that I was certain made most women uncomfortable and sent men walking into walls. And when she smiled. Well. That was magic."― Beth Hoffman “The wisest are the most annoyed at the loss of time.”― Dante Alighieri |

"In many shamanic societies, if you came to a medicine person complaining of being disheartened, dispirited, or depressed, they would ask one of four questions: When did you stop dancing? When did you stop singing? When did you stop being enchanted by stories? When did you stop finding comfort in the sweet territory of silence?" - Gabrielle Roth

"In terms of dating, not too many of [my past boyfriends] could deal with the fact that I can't answer my phone all the time because I'm at work and I have other things to do. They're on the priority list, but they're not at the top - I noticed that in a lot of my relationships it didn't work out because I had a lot of other things to do."

"If a problem is fixable, if a situation is such that you can do something about it, then there is no need to worry. If it's not fixable, then there is no help in worrying."
"The way to overcome negative thoughts and destructive emotions is to develop opposing, positive emotions that are stronger and more powerful. This takes more than prayer or wishing. It requires deep analysis into the cause of harsh feelings like hatred and a conscious effort to shift one's perspective." |
Instead of running from what you "don't want" walk with commitment toward what you desire. Focus on where you are going rather than being obsessed with where you have been. The difference between the two is energy.

Response to Dante's Inferno
(Poem is in Response to Dante's Inferno, if you haven't read it or don't know the reference the 7th circle, 3rd ring includes homosexuals)
To the Men and Women in the 3rd Ring of the 7th Circle of Hell By Jennie Smith Fire so hot it's blue falls in teardrops from a cavern above your heads. Can I say I understand why you walk naked beneath dripping flames for this— for the one whose hand holds yours despite screaming nerves, flaking skin. A single drop falls on your reddened cheek and a tear hidden there hisses. Don't look at me with your sallow eyes lest I see myself in your face. See your naked thighs and belly black and red, bone and sinew my flesh turned to mirrors. Will I burn like you for holding my lover's hand and kissing the nape of her neck? Maybe my God loves me more than yours did, but when I sleep and let Fear near my bed he strokes my hair with a clawed hand and cries blue fire on my breasts. Katniss~~ |

Stolen Moments
What happened, happened once. So now it's best in memory—an orange he sliced: the skin unbroken, then the knife, the chilled wedge lifted to my mouth, his mouth, the thin membrane between us, the exquisite orange, tongue, orange, my nakedness and his, the way he pushed me up against the fridge-- Now I get to feel his hands again, the kiss that didn't last, but sent some neural twin flashing wildly through the cortex. Love's merciless, the way it travels in and keeps emitting light. Beside the stove we ate an orange. And there were purple flowers on the table. And we still had hours. Kim Addonizio Katniss~~(I'm rather gluttonous for her work at the moment. I can almost recall that sharp tang of citrus from days past) |
“All successful people men and women are big dreamers. They imagine what
their future could be, ideal in every respect, and then they work every day toward their distant vision, that goal or purpose.” ― Brian Tracy “To acquire knowledge, one must study; but to acquire wisdom, one must observe.” ― Marilyn Vos Savant “Well, sometimes to get what you want the most, you have to do what you want the least.” ― Jodi Picoult |
Because one never knows ...
Either the well was very deep, or she fell very slowly, for she had plenty of time as she went down to look about her and to wonder what was going to happen next.
Alice In Wonderland Lewis Carroll |
"For a kiss to be really good, you want it to mean something. You want it to be with someone you can't get out of your head, so that when your lips finally touch you feel it everywhere. A kiss so hot and so deep you never want to come up for air. You can't cheat your first kiss. Trust me, you don't want to. Cause when you find that right person for a first kiss, it's everything."

Passion, it lies in all of us, sleeping... waiting... and though unwanted... unbidden... it will stir... open its jaws and howl. It speaks to us... guides us... passion rules us all, and we obey. What other choice do we have? Passion is the source of our finest moments. The joy of love... the clarity of hatred... and the ecstasy of grief. It hurts sometimes more than we can bear. If we could live without passion maybe we'd know some kind of peace... but we would be hollow... Empty rooms shuttered and dank. Without passion we'd be truly dead. Joss Whedon |
