Blue Valentine with Ryan Gosling and Michelle Williams. It was AWESOME!!. And if I "must" confess....It is the first time in a longgg time that seeing a straight folk sex scene got my blood boiling. But OMFG, there is this one scene....go ahead and watch it, I dare ya!!! Then come back and tell me which scene it is that I am speaking of LMAO

Mooz-lum - After enduring a strict youth within Islam {yep Enduring}, from his Father *whose own interpretation costs him his Marriage*, and a Cruel 'teacher', a young man understandably Bitter towards anything...and anyone..related to his Religion, realizes little by little within his adjustment to College Life & influenced by his sister and awkward friendships, that there's more to it than he thought shortly after the tragic event of 9-11, when those of his Faith are attacked with hate.

Impressive Film, with actors Evan Ross (ATL, Life Support etc.. son of Diana Ross),
Nia Long (Fresh Prince of Bel Air, Are we There Yet, If these Walls Could Talk 2 etc..) ,
Danny Glover ( Lethal Weapon, Color Purple, Beloved, etc..)...

Loved the former and had a good laugh at the latter.

Blue

"Blue"

with gorgeous brunette Juliette Binoche 1993
directed by Krzysztof Kieslowski who also
made "Red", and "White"

"Blue" is intense tragedy, grief,
rebirth(or something like it)...
more like rebuilding a shattered life.

Its in French, with English subtitles.

Great acting, and the music is exquisite

Arthur- The new one with Russel Brand, hmm interesting really..

We saw Kung Fu Panda 2 and Cowboys and Aliens today.

KF2 was adorable, as expected and a full cast of truly funny people.

C&A was pretty much what we expected. A decent shoot 'em up. There were a couple of really good, surprising moments but it's pretty formulaic.

Fright Night (2011):

Was a 'fan' of the original from the 80's, figured maybe they'd soup stuff up, update maybe add some substance to the premise.
That, and David Tennant's in it (10th Dr. Who), as Vincent Price..
Btw, he was better than Colin Farrell, who seemed to do better acting when he was quiet and munching apples while the girlies drooled.
The "monster vampire" part was almost identical to the Original, I did like the background change on where the guy comes from though.
I'm not gonna rush out to buy this one, but, it's better than watching emo sparklies....

The Last Station

One of those Films I just bump into out of curiosity, at 7 AM....Nuthin else to do or watch.
The more I watched, the more it piqued my curiosity, after all it's about Tolstoy...
Right? -smirk-
I felt terrible for the Countess at times...And at times for Tolstoy himself...

"See" What I'm Saying

The World from a few Deaf Artists point of view, and then some....

Rubber.

It's probably one of the weirdest things I've ever watched. I haven't decided if I love it or hate it.

Lunopolis

I usually like weird movies. Didnt care for this one. Acting was atrocious.

The Debt

Not even Helen Mirren could hold my attention. Next!

Fright Night

Ok I loved the original and should know better than to watch remakes. The original had the neighbor as an everyday, well dressed, cute, charming, unsuspecting guy. Thus it made it all the more believeable and interesting when the neighbor kid tried to make him out to be something else.

This remake had more just plain weirdo characters and was more reminescent of The Lost Boys. And innuendo rather than nightmare inducing gore goes a long way with me.

Very disappointing.

Okay, it's a very young chick flick and I admit it; I kinda liked it. It was wholesome, even though it's not really different than any other movie like it.

Beautiful Boy

Mario Bello and Mark Sheen

Couple on the verge of divorce is thrown back together, struggling to cope after their son goes on a murder-suicide rampage at college. Big on drama. Lacking in substance to me.

Skin - excellent but hard to watch. A lot to process. Powerful woman.

Ip Man2

Sappy Saturday...

...well, and i'm putting together my home theater.

Just Like Heaven: Cute movie, love it and yeah, it's a chick flick.
Gamer: If you love tech, you will LOVE Gamer and it's soundtrack.
Role Models: Fun movie, no thought necessary.

Martina 01-14-2012 04:52 PM

Moneyball. It was OK. Hard to be all rah rah about data and statistics though i really liked the sidekick character. i was sad to learn that he was a composite of several people and not one real person. Jonah Hill, who played him, is a good actor. Phillip Seymour Hoffman is kinda wasted in the film. Brad Pitt is good although i was distracted by some weird hair moments. If you can't make Brad Pitt look good, you need to reconsider your line of work.

Our Idiot Brother

Paul Rudd, Zooey Deschanel, Emily Mortimer - all of whom are known as who is that?

Hippy type brother with an uncomplicated approach to everything gets thrown off his organic farm and moves to the city to spend time with each of his sisters whose lives are filled with deceitful drama.

On my scale, this one ranked right up there with a trip to the dentist.
