Contagion. Actually a little better than I expected, but nothing award winning, per se.
|
last sunday my brother took my mom and i to see "the trouble with the curve" with clint eastwood...
i really wanted to be all resentful towards clint because of the whole *republican convention* thing...but...i just couldn't stay mad...LoL!! i really liked the movie! i'd probably pass if with in the next year or two..someone asked me if i wanted to watch the dvd...but it was a good movie and ole clint is still a damn good actor!! :) skeet |
Americano with Salma Hayek...it won't be for everyone but I certainly liked it
|
watched Birth tonight.. Nicole Kidman takes on some whack roles. j/s
|
Flight with Denzel Washington. It didn't disappoint. I don't often get emotionally tugged on or have physiological reactions to movies, but I certainly did with this one!
|
Because it has always been the most wicked, fragmented minds that have oddly fascinated me as well as the Art of Macabre n Horror...I watched 'A Serbian Film'. It's subtitled and created by a sick twisted mind and I strongly caution folks before pushing play. http://www.serbianfilmmovie.com/ The Human Mind is exquisite, yet very flawed. :daywalker: |
Shutter Island...it was better then I thought it would be
|
Flight
It was well done, but distressing. Hated the ending. On a side note, what was with Denzel sweeping his tongue across his teeth constantly. Is that a Denzel thing or a character thing. It was very distracting. |
I loved it!!
"Snow White and the Huntsman" I LOVED it!!! We are seriously crushing on Charlize Theron~~ |

We saw Argo a few weeks ago and thought it was really good. |
No laughing now: Magic Mike. Directed by Steven A. Soderbergh.
I though Soderbergh would have given the film more depth but no, he did not. Unless you want to see bunch of half-naked, bio-male strippers, I would skip this one. I will say that Matthew McConaughey is starting to look a little too old in the face for a movie with no gravitas. However, his body remains sublime. |
In theatres? The latest Resident Evil movie.
At home? The Coca-cola case, Freddy vs Jason & Fried Green Tomatoes (I know quite the variety). |
Man With the Iron Fists....
Loved the camp influence of Quentin Tarantino and the action skills of Lucy Liu.:) |
Me Time
"Footloose"
I enjoyed it cause it was cutesy.... I needed cutesy. |
Watched 'Fatal Attraction' last night, hadn't seen it in at least 10 years. Glenn Close still freaks me out in that movie!
|
Runaway train 1985

It was a character thing. :) |
The World Unseen - Two women in the 1950s in South Africa. Sad and beautiful.
|
Saw Breaking Dawn Pt II this afternoon, I really liked it!
|
Saw Skyfall and it was amazing. As a Bond fanatic, I was impressed by it. Loved it so much, I went and saw it again.
|
I watched St Elmo's Fire on VH1 Classic tonight *lol* ...does that count?
|
We just got home from seeing Cloud Atlas... I don't recommend it. Looking forward to a couple others however. Skyfall, the Hobbit, Argo are all on the list!
|
went to see "LINCOLN" on saturday...unless you're a HUGE history buff...i wouldn't bother...i was SO disappointed! i actually fell asleep! i've NEVER done that in the theater before!! :(

Moopie and I rented Snow White and the Huntsman and Dark Shadows.
I think Dark Shadows bored her a bit - but I thought it was a hoot. Loved Johnny Depp, although he sounded a lot like a pirate. |
I absolutely adored this movie:
http://blog.disneystore.com/.a/6a013...00f7970b-500wi This one, not so much: http://content6.flixster.com/movie/1...167520_det.jpg I'm fairly certain that this was written originally as a 102 minute commercial, before they added some catchy phrases and a plethora of lines that were way to easy to take out of context (I usually love this, but not during this movie). There were so many prominent displays of brand names in this movie, that I was just as disgusted by it as I am by watching cable television programs on cable (I usually wait for 3 seasons of a show to come out before bothering to look for it on Netflix, Hulu, or Amazon). I stopped counting after the first 20 minutes, but during that 20 minutes there were close ups of Costco, Budweiser, Hennessy, Ford, Chevrolet, and a very clear mention of Relaxtheback.com. I was also pretty disgusted by the blatant sexism, and bigotry masquerading as comedy in this film. Very disappointing. |

The remake, it was enjoyable well at least for me it was. |
The remake of "Amityville Horror". It was on last night. It wasn't too bad...for a remake.
|
We saw Lincoln a while back, and I thought it was wonderful!
Interesting that it was the Republican party (at the time liberal) that was responsible for the 13th admentment passing.... We also saw the Life of Pi...interesting twist at the end. |

I love movies about the lives of children and women. I am in the "social service" field and I enjoy when things turn out okay.
Most favorites recently - Snow Flower and the secret fan, Stars on earth, The song of sparrows, Children of heaven, Beating drum, My name is Khan. I like movies that are visually stimulating. Therefore, I watch a lot international films. I am a big big big fan of narrative movies - such as the collection made by the writer of Weeping Camel and the Yellow Cave Dog. And... of course when I am feeling less charismatic and more devilish... The Countess by Julie Delpy |
