RSVP RE Coloring stuff

Little box with project and money are in the mail:moonstars:

nanners 11-28-2016 07:48 PM

I can't believe it! After a day from hell, I come home from work and what do I find in my mailbox? Remember the Paint Chip project in June of 2014? I got an envelope, postmarked 06/27/2014 with the projects from those that participated!! I wondered why I never got it before....now I know, the USPS was using Pony Express and the Pony got lost! :superfunny:

GeorgiaMa'am 11-28-2016 08:17 PM

Bèsame*, I got your projects today! So beautiful!

I've finally, finally finished my coloring project! I will try to get it in the mail tomorrow. I know I'm late in postmarking, but I'm hoping it will arrive by the deadline. Thanks for your patience with me, everyone.

Oh my gosh....why didn't you mention you hadn't received it! That was my project, I wish I had known.

Funny, though, how long it did take. I hope they survived the long journey! !! I'm glad they finally made their destination :)

Good for you! As long as it's here on or before 12/5, it's all good.

Hey GeorgiaMa'am,
Thanks for this project. My goof, for thinking they needed to be MAILED by the 28th.
I Sent mine out yesterday in one of those small Priority USPS boxes, so you should have it by tomorrow. And I remembered to include $$. No signature required.

I had fun and advice and help from my kaijira cuz she is neat. :rrose:

If you haven't received mine by Friday, the 2nd, please let me know so I can track it. It's in one of those recycled lint-filled mailer envelopes. I included a little something extra for everyone as well.

Please PM those to me.

Thanks everybody for being so timely on my first wrangling project! You all are terrific!

GeorgiaMa'am 12-02-2016 08:15 PM

I have all the projects!

You folks are all wonderful!

I will send them out on Monday.

nanners 12-02-2016 08:25 PM

So, any ideas for the next Project? I think sign ups could happen, but the deadline should definitely not be until late January because of all the holidays. Agree?

I have an idea for the 1st project of the year...

I will post my idea later this weekend if anyone wants to hear about it!

Did we decide for sure on the rules for 2017?

nycfem 12-02-2016 08:32 PM

This was the most recent amended rules fro 2017 that I posted. I suggest we go with this unless we want to continue discussing and running things by each other. How about we go with it for now unless someone wants to post suggesting a discussion of an amendment?

No exceptions. This rule applies to participants and to wranglers. Wranglers must mail out projects within one week of the latest date that the projects were supposed to be due. In addition to waiting six months before being able to join a penpal project, the person who has not met the latest deadline must post directly on the penpal thread within a week of missing the latest deadline stating that they have not adhered to the deadline (reason is welcome to be included or does not have to be) and, most importantly, the date on which they will be able to return to participating in the penpal projects. They must scroll back and add themselves to the bottom of the list of any other participants who have not met the late date for any project for 2017. If that is not done, then the member is welcome to participate in the thread with "thanks" and reps and thread chat but not to participate in any future projects for 2017. The reason for this is personal responsibility, so that we have a running record right on the thread that is easy to refer back to when needed. And for the purposes of clarification, if someone drops out before the deadline to sign up has been closed then they are not excluded from future projects because they are still following the rules.

Example: Bitsy misses the late date for a project. Within a week of that late date she must scroll down and find the most recent list of people who have missed the late date in 2017 and copy that list to a new post and add herself. Bitsy's post would look something like this:

'Sorry, I had the bird flu and missed the late date of 2/14/17. I can start participating in new projects on 8/14/17. I have added myself to the list below:

1. Tony (missed the late date of 1/28/17, able to participate 7/28/17)
2. Bitsy (missed the late date of 2/14/17, able to participate 8/14/17)'

This rule must be posted in its entirety at the bottom of all new projects that are being wrangled so that members can thoughtfully consider whether we wish to commit to a new project."

nanners 12-02-2016 08:44 PM

nycfem, that sounds good to me! I like it that is someone has a really good reason they have to drop out that they don't have to wait an entire year before being able to participate again.

candy_coated_bitch 12-02-2016 10:15 PM

The new guidelines sound good to me too.

That works for me too. I like the fairness of it as each person who is late gets the same time to do personal stuff outside of the thread as everyone else who has been late and I like the responsibility of it, which is really why we felt it necessary to create rules for tardiness anyway.

Any people considering wrangling need to take an extra moment to make sure that they are willing to abide by the rules for everyone, whether it's a friend or even your boo that is late. I think the wrangler mail out part of the rule will help with this because a wrangler must get all of the completed packages back out into the mail within a week of the late date or else risk getting their own self on the late list. I like a system of checks and balances.

On a related note, I can't wait to hear what you have in store, nanners!
