I know many down the gulf coast, but the house we rented is literally over the low tide line. The waves are rolling in and it is beautiful. Making my heart happy. ❤

There is nobody on the beach, it is a dog friendly house, I'm retired and my handsome, amazing wife is by my side.

Vacation Ideas

I think my idea for a vacation this year is stay home. I would like to go down east but would not take the chance. Some of my favorite trips down east included crossing into NY and then on to VT, NH and Maine. I would go one way up and one way back. I also had some wonderful travel to many states close to the boarder and down through the south. I love Tenn. and Texas. Xmas with my exs brother in Texas was fabulous, loved the river walk and the Alamo. Then up to Nashville for New Years. Mississippi, Alabama, Florida, Mass., loved all those travels, good food, great folks. I think that I haven't finished with the U.S. yet LOL.

Has anyone been to Greece and if so, did you visit any of the islands? I'd love recommendations on must-see things. I don't mind lots of walking and being out 13 hours a day to fit things in! My trip is set for early Oct and the weather should be nice... just figuring out where to go aside from Athens of course. Thinking a trip to Meteora, Cape Sounion, Delphi, and maybe a day flight to Santorini (but I've read it's probably better to pick another island). So far just tickets to Athens are booked. Looking forward to any tips or suggestions :)

We’re going tent camping for a weekend in July, but we’re staying in a motel near the beach in September. I can’t wait!

Vacation Ideas

I do want a vacation but I do not know which direction to go. Out west on the train or down east driving. I guess I need to deciede soon or there will be little summer left.

We are going to Panama City Beach for a week in September/October. I can't wait! We're staying at my favorite mom-and-pop hotel right on the beach. It's a great vintage old place that has been updated and kept in good shape. Every room has a kitchenette. There are grills on the decks everywhere in view of the ocean, and tables outside. We will grill out at least twice while we are there. There are great fresh seafood places nearby, and a wonderful New Orleans style Creole restaurant in town. There are comfortable beach bars close by, some with live music. The hotel has two heated pools, one of which is salt water and mainly for adults. The beach is beautiful white sand, and two really nice guys run the beach chair and umbrella service. The entire hotel is operated by a single family. They take great pride in their hotel and it shows.

It is wonderful, but unfortunately, doesn't allow pets. I would look for a hotel near the dog beach. According to pcbfl.gov, "The dog beach is located on the west side of the Russell-Fields City Pier in front of Pier Park." They also have a couple of dog parks and "many local restaurants are dog friendly." I hope you get to go!

Vacation Ideas

I think home this year, sit where I am. It is even too hot up in the Yukon Territory now. Might be a little better without the humidity but not much. So, I will stay right where I am and plan for next year.

We are tent camping in Provincetown this summer. We probably won’t camp many more years; it’s hard on our poor old bodies and Pete does most of the heavy lifting. We got a site with water and electricity, which is so convenient.

We will celebrate our tenth wedding anniversary this summer!

Oh fun, and Happy Anniversary!

My only planned vacations are camping. One weekend with friends that we do annually, we're going on Summer Solstice weekend this year. Then another with my kiddo and my elder nephew. They share a July birthday and they both want to take a weekend to camp and climb some mountains to celebrate, so, that's what we are doing!

I wish we had a vehicle that we could sleep in, like a van. We could just throw the dog and the charcoal in the back and camp nearby for a couple of nights. 🏕️
